West Bromwich Albion did not have an answer to crack the Cardiff City defense and they were held without a goal for the second consecutive match in a 1-0 loss at Cardiff City Stadium.

The Baggies are edging closer to the relegation zone after back to back losses without a goal to Cardiff and Norwich City. Sessegnon has been ice cold over the past few games and his poor form has a tendency to reflect on his club's overall form. Right now they look in desperate need of a playmaker and can hopefully dip into the transfer market for at least an impact loanee, preferably as effective as Romelu Lukaku was for them last season. Steve Clarke needs to do something quick before they drop too many points to low table sides.

Christian Fuchs will be fit to face Liverpool on Saturday after recovering from a "freak" eye injury he picked up in training.

Manager Craig Shakespeare confirmed Fuchs will be available for selection after he was given the "all clear" by an eye specialist and trained all week with no ill effects. Fuchs, who is entrenched as the starting left-back, will resume his place against Liverpool on Saturday. This weekend however the Austria international's fantasy value is best tailored to formats that reward peripheral metrics, considering a clean sheet will be a tough ask against the Reds potent attack.

Matty James will miss out on Sunday's match against Liverpool after being ruled out for four to six weeks with an Achilles injury.

The injury marks another blow for James, who missed two full seasons with a knee injury before his recent return to action. The 25-year-old suffered the problem in the home defeat to Chelsea two weeks ago and consequently missed Leicester's last fixture matches. While manager Craig Shakespeare said James' past injury experiences will help him cope with the lay-off, the severity of the injury could see him out of action until November. Andy King could be handed a start alongside Wilfred Ndidi against Liverpool, while Vicente Iborra will also be in contention for more playing time.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that Vincent Kompany is in line to return this weekend.

The Manchester City captain has missed the club's last four matches after sustaining a calf injury during the last international break. But Kompany is set to be involved against bottom-of-the-tabel Crystal Palace this weekend while midfielder Ilkay Gundogan isn't expected to miss much time after sustaining a knee injury this week. Said Guardiola: "The injury situation is OK. Vinny has come back and we were lucky with Gundogan, so we will see. "It is important to stay fit, avoid injuries - that is the best way. But in the Premier League, every single team can beat the other one."

Newcastle will have to do without two key defenders once again with Paul Dummett and Florian Lejeune still out.

The defensive duo started the season opener against Tottenham—a 2-0 home loss—but left with injury and have not played since. Lejeune, who was expected to return this week, will now sit out as he fights off an ankle injury. However, Benitez said the club is more than comfortable with Jamaal Lascelles and Ciaran Clark at the back: "More or less the same situation, everybody's fine. Lejeune's having treatment. We're really pleased signing him. He was unlucky with the injury, but (Ciaran) Clark and (Jamaal) Lascelles are doing well, so he has to wait, but he's pushing and creating problems for my decisions every week."

Crystal Palace is nearing the end of its anxious wait without Wilfried Zaha with the winger close to a return.

Zaha is set to return after the upcoming international break after sustaining a knee injury in the club's opening match of the season, according to manager Roy Hodgson. "We've got a large squad to choose from. Everyone made it through Tuesday unscathed...Feedback on Wilf is positive, he is doing work with the sports science and medical staff and is still on target for a return after the international period." The Eagles have sorely missed the Ivorian international as the club remains goalless this season.

Chris Brunt continues to be a difficult player to get a handle on between a current calf issue and where Kieran Gibbs fits into the picture.

Chris Brunt has been something of a Swiss Army Knife for Tony Pulis over the past year or so. Sometimes deployed as a left back, sometimes deployed further up the pitch, and sometimes excluded entirely. Since Gibbs' arrival toward the end of the transfer window Brunt has been an unused substitute once (Brighton) and started and come off after 71 minutes once (West Ham). Given the calf injury and alternatives, it may well be that Brunt will miss out entirely on Week 6. Despite West Brom's status as a less-than-glamorous side, Brunt's status will be interesting to fantasy managers as his health returns and Tony Pulis is forced to figure out how and how often to use the Northern Ireland international.

Geoff Cameron's continuing hamstring issues piles on the misery for Mark Hughes who is going to struggle to field a defense against visiting Chelsea.

The Potters looked deep at the center back position coming out of the summer with Kurt Zouma, Geoff Cameron, and Kevin Wimmer joining returning starters Ryan Shawcross and Bruno Martins Indi. Six weeks into the season and it's looking a bit threadbare as Shawcross and Cameron are definitely out, Zouma can't face his parent club and Wimmer is doubtful as well. With Martins Indi the only regular who is healthy heading into the weekend it might be down to Josh Tymon to partner the Dutch international if Wimmer can't go. Not a good look with Chelsea coming to the Bet365 Stadium.

Kurt Zouma won't be able to play against parent club Chelsea in Week 6 action per the terms of his loan deal.

Missing Zouma for a week wouldn't be a terrible thing for the Potters if they were healthy elsewhere but they are far from it. Ryan Shawcross and Geoff Cameron are both out and Kevin Wimmer is a significant doubt after picking up an injury in the Potters' mid-week Carabao Cup match. Mark Hughes has been playing a three-man center back group recently but it is reasonable to wonder if he'll even have two healthy recognized center backs to face Chelsea.

Marco Silva's defense gets a boost with the return of Kiko Femenia after the right back was taken off in Week 5 due to a head injury.

With Daryl Janmaat back from his own injury issues, it may well be that Femenia will be on the bench for the trip Wales to face Swansea. When starting, Femenia has been a strong fantasy option but the uncertainty over his place in the pecking order reduces his value significantly. For those having to make a decision on him before line-ups are released for this match the presumption should be that Femenia will not be starting.

Tyrone Mings has been ruled out for "at least a month" due to an ongoing back issue.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s trip to Goodison Park, the Cherries boss confirmed Mings would be out "for a period of time" after plans to manage his back problem with treatment had failed: "He'll see a specialist and it has been recommended that he has [at least] a month on the sidelines. It will be interesting to see how that rest affects his back, he has pain in one area so hopefully the rest should cure it." Fortunately, Bournemouth were able to welcome Steve Cook back into the ranks this week and the defender came through 90 minutes unscathed [against Brighton] in the Carabao Cup. Apart from Callum Wilson [ACL] and Adam Federici [knee surgery] who remain long-term absentees, the squad is okay. Junior Stanislas' return to action on Tuesday was a "big boost" and there are no other injury problems.

Stoke City are "struggling a little bit defensively" ahead of their clash with Chelsea after Mark Hughes revealed Kevin Wimmer is a "major doubt" because of injury.

The summer signing from Tottenham damaged his hamstring on Tuesday night and is considered a doubt for Saturday. "We will have to have a look and see how he is today [Friday]," revealed the Potters boss who is missing a several key players. Ryan Shawcross [back], Geoff Cameron [hamstring] and Kurt Zouma [ineligible] won't be available, and, as it stands "of the senior centre-halves that I've got, I've only got one. We are a little bit stretched to say the least. I'm keeping my fingers crossed [but] I am hoping [Wimmer] injury won't stop him playing - clearly at the moment he's a big risk." Mame Diouf is also managing a knee problem but the versatile Senegalese star is expected to feature.
