Norwich City were able to earn a point after falling behind early thanks to a goal from Gary Hooper as the Canaries drew with Swansea City 1-1.

Just as Ricky van Wolfswinkel works his way back to match fitness, Gary Hooper is making a statement that he should be the first choice striker for Chris Hughton's side. His strike today makes four goals in the last 6 league games and he is edging his way into the conversation as a 3rd forward in fantasy. The goal was from distance and extremely accurate, a 25 yards volley that scorched the top left corner of the net. With three of the next four contests against the bottom three clubs in the table, Hooper has a great opportunity to keep his form up.

Manchester United is close to arriving at full strength following the return of Anthony Martial with Henrikh Mkhitaryan close as well.

Manager Jose Mourinho confirmed Marital has recovered from an ankle injury that caused him to miss the club's last two matches last weeks to be fit to face Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk on Thursday in the Europa League group stage: "He has now recovered from the contusion in his calf and in his ankle. He has recovered and is ready for tomorrow." Meanwhile, Martial could have some competition soon with Mkhitaryan close to a return from a thigh injury. The summer signing could possibly return this weekend, but will surely be available after the international break, barring an injury setback.

Bournemouth will be happy to see the return of forward Joshua King this weekend against Watford, barring any injury setbacks.

The forward has missed the past week, including a League Cup match and the 1-0 win against Everton this weekend, with a knock, but manager Eddie Howe confirmed he is back in training ahead of the weekend trip to Watford. The Cherries have only scored four goals this season in six matches, without scoring more than one goal in a single game. Meanwhile, winger Marc Pugh is still recovering from a knock that will keep him out until after the international break. Said Howe: "Joshua King has done some light training this week. It's not too bad, while Marc Pugh is improving, but is still a couple of weeks away. Other than that we don't have many concerns."

Bournemouth is already making their hopes to sign Jack Wilshere to a permanent deal known at the end of his season-long loan.

Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn said he wouldn't rule anything out at the end of the season after the former Arsenal prodigy arrived on Deadline Day. He has gone on to play in five of the club's Premier League matches to start the season. "The best we can do is integrate Jack into the team and help him fulfill what he wants. Whether or not we will go beyond a season, I think everything is possible. You have to be realistic and Jack may well consider his home to be back at Arsenal...But if there is a possibility and Eddie Howe decides that he's somebody he wants to keep it will be up to him."

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that defender Vincent Kompany has not suffered a massive injury setback.

The Manchester City captain sustained a groin injury in the late stages of the club's win against Swansea City, minutes after he asked to stay on instead of being subbed off. But the club expects Kompany to return for the next Champions League match with Barcelona after the international break. "They are injured, unfortunately they are not here but we are going to do our best to recover them as soon as possible," manager Pep Guardiola said. "It's not a big, big injury, so I think in a short time -- two, three, three-and-a-half weeks -- both will be ready to be with us."

The Theo Walcott redemption tour continued with a first half brace against Basel in the Champions League group stage.

Arsenal scored twice in the first half through Theo Walcott and then cruised to a 2-0 victory at the Emirates. With PSG also winning the result put the two clubs even atop Group A with four points and a two goal differential each. The only significant changes Arsene Wenger made was continuing with Granit Xhaka due to the injury to Francis Coquelin and bringing in David Ospina as has been his habit in the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger has indicated that Aaron Ramsey will definitely miss out on matches with Burnley and Basel before the international break.

Ramsey's hamstring injury suffered in Week 1 against Liverpool has lingered longer than expected and the Arsenal manager has indicated that the player won't make it back before the international break. With an extra week to recover, Ramsey should be available when the Gunners return to action against Swansea at the Emirates on October 15th. Given the strength and health of the current squad expect Arsene Wenger to be conservative in bringing Ramsey back from his injury.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has signalled his intention to play Zlatan Ibrahimovic twice this week.

The Swede will start Thursday's must-win Europa League clash with Zorya Luhansk as well as the Stoke game in Gameweek 7. Even though Zlatan is turning 35 on Monday, Mourinho believes that his body is able for the intensity since he will not be playing during the international break immediately after. Some FPL managers will fear that fatigue will affect the big man in this weekend's game - they had better hope the Red Devils are out of sight quickly tomorrow night so that their precious Zlatan is ready to inflic more misery on the Potters.

Harry Kane, who was thought to be out of action for about two months because of ligament damage in his ankle, is thought to be able to fully recover in a matter of six weeks.

A six week absence for a player like Kane is still a tough blow for Spurs to navigate around, but a shortened timetable will certainly lift spirits for the club, especially considering that gives him a target to return in time for the derby match against Arsenal in early November. Tottenham have been hit with the injury bug in recent times but showed they have adequate depth by grinding out a Champions League win last night against CSKA Moscow, despite missing Kane along with Danny Rose, Mousa Dembele, Moussa Sissoko and Eric Dier. Another tough test comes at the weekend when they attempt to snap Manchester City's perfect record.

Sam Allardyce is no longer England manager after the FA mutually agreed to terminate his contract just 67 days into his "dream job."

Following a sting by London based broadsheet newspaper The Daily Telegraph, Allardyce had to go following an investigation which raised concerns that "the guardians of [our] game" had fallen below the standards expected. Allardyce was caught on camera discussing ‘third-party ownership’ and specifically offering advice on how to circumvent the rules governing transfers. Following yesterdays’ meeting at Wembley Stadium, the FA released a statement confirming he would leave by "mutual consent" in order to protect the "wider interests of the game." Allardyce admits he made a "terrible error of judgement" and that his behaviour was silly. "Entrapment has won on this occasion and I have to accept that," he said. Gareth Southgate will now take charge of the next four international matches with the Football Association branded a ‘laughing stock’ by former England and Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer.

Mike Phelan is not ruling out a defensive future for Jake Livermore who has made the successful transition from midfield maestro to ball-playing centre-back following a number of injuries at the start of the new campaign.

Livermore stepped in for the season opener against champions Leicester City and he hasn’t looked back since. Losing Michael Dawson and Harry Maguire [both ankle] in pre-season, and with limited options in a threadbare Tigers squad, Livermore slotted into the back-four to partner Curtis Davies and the 26-year-old has started every Premier League game even though Maguire is now fit. "I've never really had the conversation with Jake as to where he sees his future, whether that's in midfield or the position he's in at the moment," said Phelan. "He's taken to it really, really well. When we look at the games and we analyse, he's very comfortable there. He's added a certain amount of calmness to proceedings."

Jose Mourinho has revealed a few players who will not be able (by choice and necessity) to play in the Europa League against Zorya Luhansk this Thursday.

Luke Shaw was deemed unwell by the Man Utd club doctor and sent home from training today, this does not appear to be a serious setback for the young Englishman. Having confirmed that Wayne Rooney would play against Zorya earlier in the week, Mourinho has cast doubt on this as he has a back issue, which prevented him training yesterday. Mkhitaryan will not be in action in spite of training in the last few days. Anthony Martial has recovered from the calf injury which meant he didn't even make the squad for last weekend's Leicester victory.
