Manchester City are hoping to have top scorer Sergio Aguero back in contention inside the next two weeks.

Initial reports suggested Aguero would be out for a month with the calf injury suffered in the win over Arsenal in December, and that looks to be about right. The striker is back in full training but Manuel Pellegrini was quoted as saying "he has at least one or two weeks more to go, probably two", so Edin Dzeko should continue to feature alongside Alvaro Negredo. City could have Steven Jovetic, Micah Richards and Martin Demichelis back for the Week 22 fixture against Cardiff, but the trio are unlikely to be ready for Newcastle this weekend.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was the man of the match as Arsenal beat Manchester City 2-1 at Wembley to advance to the FA Cup final.

Arsenal started slowly against Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's men had the better of the possession and chances in the first half. As Arsenal tried to assert themselves it was Oxlade-Chamberlain, switching between the center of the park and a right wingback role, who was their brightest performer. After City went up 1-0 on a lightning-fast breakout it was Oxlade-Chamberlain who got them back in it with an excellent cross that found Nacho Monreal whose odd man rush saw him unmarked in the penalty area. While The Ox had been substituted by the time Alexis Sanchez pounced on a loose ball in the six yard box for the winner, it was Oxlade-Chamberlain who stood out the most for the Gunners as they booked their third FA Cup finals appearance in the past four seasons.

There was nothing Burnley could do against an in-form Manchester United in a 2-0 loss to the Red Devils on Sunday.

Despite facing a Manchester United defense down three starters, one that has played three games in the last seven days, Burnley couldn't even manage a shot on target against Jose Mourinho's stalwart side. The Clarets have only one win in their last 10 Premier League matches, but they still kept their distance with a five-point lead over the bottom three. Defender Ben Mee left the match at half-time with an injury while striker Daniel Agyei came on late as Sean Dyche looks to get the youngster more playing time as he enters the final year of his contract with rumors linking him to Everton.

Burnley's penchant for results at home hit a wall today, as they conceded two unanswered goals to Manchester United in a 0-2 final.

The match began in typical Turf Moor style, with Tom Heaton making a couple of big saves in the first 20 minutes while the Claret attack were creating chances, mainly by Robbie Brady, who delivered several crosses over the contest. Andre Gray look the likeliest to finish one of those chances, but the Clarets failed to find an end product. Meanwhile, the fortress that is Turf Moor was penetrated, first on a swift counter-attack and then a second goal was conceded after a loose ball in front of Heaton was smashed in by Wayne Rooney. That put the match out of reach as United were in cruise control throughout the second half. Five points above relegation, one imagines Burnley may need at least one more positive result in their final four matches.

It's difficult to imagine Manchester United this season without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but a familiar face helped to fill his shoes.

In a 2-0 win against Burnley, Wayne Rooney made a surprise cameo appearance in the starting lineup after only just returning from a month sidelined by various injuries to his aging ankle, and the Manchester United captain reminded fans that he can still deliver with a goal in the 39th minute, pouncing on a saved shot from Anthony Martial for his third goal of the season. But it was Martial who stole the spotlight, scoring a goal and recording an assist after also returning to the starting lineup for Marcus Rashford, who started and played 120 minutes on Thursday in Europa League.

Manchester United close the gap to one point between themselves and crosstown rivals Manchester City for the coveted fourth spot in the table after a comprehensive 0-2 win over Burnley.

The two sides traded blows over the first twenty minutes, with United having the edge in the middle of the pitch. After a couple of attempts were stopped by Tom Heaton, United broke through on 21 minutes, when Ander Herrera led a counter attack, picking out Anthony Martial who slotted home for just his fourth league goal of the campaign. The Red Devis then doubled their lead before halftime, with Wayne Rooney smashing in a loose ball after Martial initially delivered a shot on target. United focused on error-free football and protecting their lead in the second half, which they did successfully. The stage is now set for a huge Manchester derby on Thursday night.

The gap between Stoke City and relegation-zoned Swansea City shrunk this afternoon, as a missed penalty by Marko Arnautovic was the defining moment in a 2-0 loss.

The biggest news of the day for Stoke was the return of Jack Butland, but it was clear the keeper was not completely comfortable, spilling the ball a couple of times, but he did make a class save in the second half, looking the Butland of old. The Potters gave up an early goal though and offered little in terms of attack, with Saido Berahino wasting a golden chance just before halftime. Still, Stoke had a chance to get a result, as a foul on Xherdan Shaqiri in the box set up a penalty kick for Arnautovic. The Austrian international blasted it into Southern Wales sky and, less than a minute later, the Swans doubled their lead, which put the game away. Stoke are still firmly in midtable but may be running out of reasons to play with motivation.

Bournemouth were deserved winners at the Vitality Stadium as Middlesbrough offered little resistance in a spineless performance.

Josh King opened the scoring for Cherries just one minute and 36 seconds into the tie. Pugh passed by the hapless Barragan with ease before firing in a cross for his Norwegian striker, who finished from close range. Gaston Ramirez then proceeded to have a disciplinary meltdown. He attempted a dive but failed to deceive the referee, earning himself a caution. He pointlessly fouled Pugh minutes later after Afobe had doubled Bournemouth's lead, earning himself the early bath he seemed to be looking for. De Roon had a good effort for 'Boro before he was hauled off with an injury. In the second half, Bournemouth pushed relentlessly and the visitors acquiesced, with Pugh notching up the third before Daniels scored a fine fourth. 'Boro will be playing in the Championship next season unless a miracle occurs.

It may not have been pretty, but injury-plagued West Ham wrung all the life out of Everton's attack in a 0-0 draw at the Olympic Stadium.

It was the best defensive performance of the season by far for the Hammers, who made the Premier League's leading goalscorer in Romelu Lukaku anonymous. Buoyed by the return of Winston Reid in a three-man backline with Adrian back in goal, West Ham held Everton without a single shot on target. Even without Andy Carroll, Sam Byram and a bevy of regular starters, Slaven Bilic's men extended their undefeated streak to three matches after a dreadful seven-game winless streak put Bilic on the hot seat. Due to the myriad absences, Bilic placed three Academy prospects on the bench: Nathan Holland, Declan Rice and Moses Makasi.

Tom Carroll scored his first goal for Swansea City and it helped the Jacks to a 2-0 win over Stoke City, as the Jack continue their struggle to rise above the relegation zone.

Paul Clement told his squad that today's match was a must-win and the Swans did not disappoint. They enjoyed the benefit of an early goal, as Fernando Llorente turned the ball in from a Gylfi Sigurdsson corner on ten minutes. They suffered a blow a few minutes later, as Leroy Fer collided with Jack Butland and could not continue. The Jacks preserved their lead into halftime and past the hour mark, but they got lucky when they conceded a penalty chance. However, Stoke wasted the opportunity and, less than a minute later, Tom Carroll took a short pass from Jordan Ayew and sent a deep left-footed strike that looped in over the keeper and sealed three massive points. The Swans are still in the relegation zone, with Hull being the likeliest club they could catch, but the Tigers also won today, so the pressure continues in South Wales.

Antonio Conte named Eden Hazard and Diego Costa on the Chelsea bench for Saturdays FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Former England international, and current BBC pundit Gary Lineker, revealed via his personal Twitter account around 3:30pm that the pair had been dropped, news which was confirmed officially 45 minutes later. Undoubtedly, Conte picked his side with one eye on Tuesdays Premier League clash vs Southampton, with today’s opponents pushing hard in second place just four-points behind. As expected, Chelsea were able to welcome back Thibaut Courtois [ankle], Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso [both illness] but despite a return to training, Gary Cahill was not risked at Wembley. Nathan Ake was named in the starting XI for the first time since February while Michy Batshuayi comes in for only his third start of the year.

There wasn't anything for the vaunted Everton attack to brag about following a dull scoreless draw against West Ham.

Everton hasn't been held scoreless in two months (since a 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough in Gameweek 25), but to be held without a shot on target is a new low for a side that boasts the Premier League's top goalscorer in Romelu Lukaku. The Toffees entered Saturday afternoon with 21 goals in their last seven Premier League matches, only to put together a sluggish showing against a second-rate West Ham side plagued by injuries. The only news of any value was the return of goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, who has not featured for the club since Gameweek 17.
