Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick as Manchester City survived a scare to book a place in the FA Cup fifth round with a resurgent victory over Watford.

Manchester City were 2-0 down to Championship side Watford after 30 minutes, and that score-line remained until the 60th minute, with Manuel Pellegrini's men playing extremely poorly. Enter Aguero, who grabbed an excellent brace to level things up before Aleksandar Kolarov put City ahead from distance after a howler from the goalkeeper. Aguero wrapped up his hat-trick in the dying moment to make it 25 goals for the season. Tottenham beware ...

Mark Hughes will be hoping that the international break will provide enough time for full-back Glenn Johnson to recover from injury with a trip to the Emirates in game week five.

Johnson has started all four PL games since joining the Potters during the summer following his release from Liverpool and the former England international has been a solid performer on the right-hand side. Following injuries to skipper Ryan Shawcross [back] and Marc Wilson [ankle], Hughes has been forced into playing an unfamiliar back four and despite results Stoke have been playing well. Their two defeats [this season] came at the hands of a Philipp Coutinho wonder strike [Liverpool] and West Brom having been reduced to 9-men. Geoff Cameron could move across if Johnson fails to recover in time with either Wollscheid or Wilson coming in centrally.

An injury that was supposed to be "minor" when it happened in April has turned into September knee surgery and "months" of further recovery.

The word from the Arsenal camp is that Welbeck just wasn't responding to treatment and it was decided that knee surgery would be necessary. While there wasn't a specific return date provided, the word "months" was used rather than days and weeks which had been the prognosis last season, over the summer, and into the early stages of this season. November or December seems like the earliest that Arsenal are likely to see any further contribution from the England man.

A training ground hamstring injury means that Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley was not fit enough to start on Thursday as Wales take on Cyprus in a Euro 2016 qualifying game.

News broke shortly before kick-off that Ledley was one of three changes made by Chris Coleman from the side which defeated group favourites Belgium last time out. Ledley has been nothing more than a bit part player for the Eagles this season playing just 8 minutes of Premier League football although the 28 year-old was afforded a run-out against Shrewsbury in the Capital One Cup nine days ago. Ledley had been linked to a number of Championship sides during the transfer window but co-chairman Steve Parish insisted "he was never going anywhere" and was delighted to see Ledley remain at the club along with captain Mile Jedinak who was a target for Stoke City.

Summer signings Max Gradel and Tyrone Mings have been omitted from the Cherries’ 25 man Premier League squad list after the pair suffered serious knee injuries last weekend. Charlie Daniels however - who was also injured during the draw with Leicester – has been included.

Gradel will undergo surgery after rupturing his ACL for the second time in his career and will miss a minimum of 6-months. Mings [MCL] is expected to be sidelined for at least 3-months although the full-back is still being assessed. Daniels was forced off at half-time after suffering a muscular problem – believed to be his hamstring – and should be back within 3-4 weeks. All three deadline day signings – Glenn Murray / Tomas Andrade / Joe Bennett - were included along with Everton loanee Christian Atsu. Harry Arter also made the cut despite not featuring this season due to hip and groin problems.

Christian Benteke is expected to miss Belgium’s Euro qualifier against Bosnia on Thursday after going for a scan following complaints of tenderness in his thigh.

Fortunately further tests revealed only minor damage and the injury should be short-term. Benteke is yet to train since joining the Red Devils – Belgium National Team – but could yet feature if the striker proves himself on Wednesday. The news will concern Liverpool who have only just welcomed Daniel Sturridge back to the club following an injury plagued year in which Rodgers called into question the handling of his striker while on international duty. Benteke is expected to be okay for GW5 but Danny Ings is available along with Divock Origi if the big Belgian fails to recover in time.

Bryan Oviedo has withdrawn from the Costa Rica squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Brazil and Uruguay.

Oviedo has just returned to the Everton starting line-up following injuries to Leighton Baines [ankle] and Brendon Galloway [knee]. The left-back made his first start since February at Oakwell [Barnsley] in the Capital One Cup last week but aggravated an existing knee problem as the game went into extra-time. However Oviedo was able to travel – and subsequently play the full 90 minutes – at White Hart Lane last Saturday but the 25 year-old irritated the niggle and will not be risked over the break. Everton remain hopeful that Oviedo will be available to face Chelsea in the early kick off in game week five otherwise the Toffees are struggling. Luke Garbutt is on loan at Fulham - but also injured - while first-choice U21 defender Antonee Robinson has a knee problem. Seventeen-year-old Callum Connolly - who played at left-back for the second string on Monday - is available or Tyias Browning could provide emergency cover.

Summer signing Max Gradel has been ruled out until 2016 after the AFC Bournemouth winger suffered a serious knee injury during Saturdays’ draw against Leicester City.

The Cherries’ endured a terrible afternoon at Dean Court losing three players to injury but the loss of Gradel for a least 6-months is the most significant by far. Although the precise nature of the injury is not yet known Gradel has damaged his cruciate ligament – believed to be anterior – and will undergo surgery to repair the tear. Gradel suffered a similar injury back in 2013 while training with the Ivory Coast and spent almost 7-months sidelined. Tyrone Mings [medial] knee ligaments is expected to miss around 10-12 weeks while Charlie Daniels who was also injured in the same game may is out for up-to a month with a hamstring strain.

Aaron Lennon has made his loan move to Everton from the second half of last season permanent as he moves to Goodison Park.

Lennon was fairly effective in both the real world and fantasy in his time at Everton last season. With the move now going permanent, Lennon will be a nice potential second tier waiver wire pick-up for fantasy managers who miss out on big signings like Kevin De Bruyne.

Nathan Dyer has seen the writing on the wall left by Andre Ayew and decided that his best course of action is a season-long loan to Leicester City.

Andre Ayew has been one of the signings of the summer already and the man he supplanted in the Swans starting line-up, Nathan Dyer, has taken the hint and left town in search of playing time. His move to Leicester City certainly doesn't guarantee playing time on the right side of the attack given the Foxes' strong attacking start to the season but there's at least a better chance of playing time with a man called The Tinkerman in charge.

Matt Jarvis will look to re-start a floundering career at Carrow Road where he will join a Norwich City attack that could use some help.

West Ham have been busy all summer adding players who are now presumably ahead of Jarvis in the queue for playing time. In Victor Moses, Dimitri Payet, Mickail Antonio, Alex Song, and Angelo Ogbonna the Hammers have an entire new midfield's worth of players to add to the ones remaining from last season. Jarvis hasn't been very good since his move to East London and maybe a change of scenery is just what the doctor ordered. He's probably not worth a waiver claim in draft leagues at this point but he's at least worth looking at to see if his new surroundings help get things moving once he returns from his thigh injury.
Sep 1 - 3:40 PM

Victor Moses is headed out on loan for the third consecutive season with West Ham his destination this season.

Moses spent two seasons ago at Liverpool and didn't contribute a great deal. Last year he was excellent at Stoke City when he was healthy. This season he will move from West London to East London as he trades Chelsea blue for West Ham Claret and Blue. If healthy, Moses should be a great addition to fantasy squads and a starter for fantasy managers as often as he is a starter for the Hammers.
