Everton cruised past Stevenage in the FA Cup on Saturday but the win came at a cost as they lost Bryan Oviedo for the season with a broken leg.

Despite Leighton Baines' return from injury, Oviedo had continued to see himself in Roberto Martinez's starting lineup at least occasionally. Martinez will likely have to wait until next season for the Costa Rican's return as the ankle break likely rules him out for the rest of the 2013-14 season as well as the World Cup. Martinez had better hope that Baines remains healthy or he will find himself in a difficult spot at left back.

Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that Tottenham left-back Danny Rose is still a number of weeks away from returning to full training as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

This is a concern for Tottenham supporters and owners of Danny Rose in fantasy as recovery timelines out of White Hart Lane have a reputation for being underestimated or, as is the case with Erik Lamela, not estimated at all. Rose is too good to drop in draft leagues, but owners in that kind of format will hope weeks will not turn into months as a player's fantasy value begins to fade quickly as the matches start to run out. Ben Davies should continue to occupy the role in the meantime and makes for a fine plug and play if still available on free agent markets.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson picked up a knock in Burnley's FA Cup loss to Lincoln City last weekend, putting a slight doubt on his availability heading into this weekend's trip to Hull City.

Gudmundsson had just returned from a hamstring injury that had kept him out since early January but he had to exit early against Lincoln City. His removal from the match by Sean Dyche may have been more precautionary than anything, as he will look to the Icelandic international as a source of attacking influence with Burnley entering their season's run-in. Having picked up only one point away from Turf Moor so far this campaign, the Clarets will be looking for a positive result against upstart Hull in an intriguing matchup.

Andy Carroll looks to have lost his battle to be fit for this weekend’s trip to Vicarage Road.

Slaven Bilic revealed during the build-up to game week 25 that the injury plagued 28-year-old had been carrying a niggling groin problem which resulted in him missing out against West Brom at the London Stadium. It was envisioned that Carroll would be ready for a return this weekend, but speaking to talkSPORT radio on Wednesday, the Hammers manager confirmed: "He is in good form. The only thing about him is that now he is a little bit injured and he didn't train for 10 days. That is a big blow for us but, saying that, he is going to be back very soon." His absence is likely to see Antonio lead the West Ham attack, although club-record signing Andre Ayew will come back into contention following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Michael Carrick is expected to miss the EFL Cup final at Wembley after he was forced off with a calf injury in France.

Carrick was named in the starting XI for Manchester United’s Europa League second leg tie versus Saint-Etienne, but the 35-year-old only lasted an hour before a calf problem ended his evening. Speaking after the game, Jose Mourinho defended his line-up: "You can get hurt when you leave your house, you never know when or where." Mourinho will consider his options ahead of Sunday, but Marouane Fellaini and Bastian Schweinsteiger are two potential replacements. United could also be without Mkhitaryan who limped off with a hamstring injury: "I think Henrikh and Michael are both out," said Mourinho. "But, this is based on my experience, not on my medical knowledge and not based on tests and what they have to do tomorrow."

Arsenal believe Santi Cazorla will not play again this season following another major setback.

The Spanish midfielder has been limited to just eight Premier League appearances this term after picking up an ankle injury against Ludogorets in the Champions League last October. Following several weeks of rehab, Cazorla wasn’t progressing as hoped, and the Arsenal medical team in conjunction with specialists decided that the 32-year-old would have surgery on the plantaris tendon in his right foot. Cazorla travelled to Sweden for the procedure and was told a full recovery would take around three months, although the player himself was initially confident of a return within two. However, following several setbacks, Cazorla will now focus on being fit for the start of the 2017/18 campaign.

The brief speculation over Adam Lallana's future at Liverpool is over after the club officially announced he has signed a new contract.

The former Southampton midfielder has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham in recent months following a stellar run of form that has seen him record seven goals and seven assists this season. But the 28-year-old has now signed a three-year contract reportedly worth £150,000-a-week to make him one of the highest-paid players at the club. Said Lallana: "Signing for a club like Liverpool is obviously a big thing – but to re-sign shows you’ve obviously contributed enough that the people who make the decisions want you to stay longer. This is a really good place to be at the moment and, for a player who wants to be part of something special, I can’t think of a better club to commit your future to."

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho admitted it won't be easy for Luke Shaw to force his way back into the first team.

That's because the manager rates Shaw as the club's fourth-best left-back. The £27 million signing from Southampton has not played in the Premier League since Week 11 and didn't even feature in the club's FA Cup or Europa League squads this week, with Mourinho challenging the 21-year-old to work harder: "Why has Luke Shaw stayed behind in Manchester? Because I am playing with Daley Blind, with Marcos Rojo, with Matteo Darmian and all of them are playing the way I like a full-back to play. Luke has to wait for his chance. He has to work better and better knowing that I give nothing for free."

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero is having none of the rumors linking him with a summer transfer.

The Argentine talisman's future has been questioned in recent weeks since being benched for City's latest prodigy: Gabriel Jesus. But Aguero put all the worries over a rift with manager Pep Guardiola to rest after starting for the club in a 5-3 win against Monaco in Champions League on Tuesday: "As I've always said I want to be here at the club, I've always said that at the end of the season it won't be my decision. The truth is that with these things it's the club that handles everything, and obviously it's always my intention to stay. We (Guardiola) get on very well. What he wants, above everything, from all the players is that we push a little more."

Manchester United suffer a double injury blow ahead of Sundays’ EFL Cup final.

United travelled to France in the Europa League on Wednesday, but despite a 3-0 first leg lead over Saint-Etienne, Mourinho was taking no chances and named a strong starting XI. However, his gamble looks to have backfired, even though his side progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition. Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Michael Carrick both sustained muscular injuries and the pair are now considered major doubts for the clash with Southampton at Wembley. "Honestly, I don’t think so," said Mourinho when asked if either play would be fit. "I think Henrikh and Michael are both out. But, this is based on my experience, not on my medical knowledge and not based on tests and what they have to do tomorrow. A calf, a hamstring, even if it’s a minor injury, I think they're out." Wayne Rooney has trained ahead of the game and could return after missing the three previous matches because of a muscular problem.

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is unlikely to leave for the Chinese Super League before their transfer window closes at the end of February.

Rooney's representatives had been in talks with Tianjin Quanjian, but their coach, former World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro, said that talks did not progress. While Rooney may not depart this month, it appears to be a foregone conclusion that the club's record goalscorer will leave in the summer due to lack of game time. However, Rooney is said to wish to see out his contract until 2019 at the club but will not do so in the current circumstances. Rooney did not take part in United's Europa League triumph over St. Etienne as he has just recovered from a hamstring strain. He has started just three games since December 17th.

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has rejected claims that he wants to leave the club.

Martial had a dream debut season for United after arriving from Monaco in a deal worth at least £35m scoring 17 goals. However, this year, he has just seven goals and finds himself outside the starting eleven and playing on the wing when he does get on the pitch as Zlatan Ibrahimovic has taken up permanent residence in United's striker role. Speaking before the Red Devils' second leg victory over St. Etienne, Martial said: "I love Manchester. I love the club. I love the fans. I enjoy them backing me. I try to be as good as possible to make them happy. I want to stay as long as possible in this club... I am sure next season will be even better." He also dismissed reports that he is unhappy playing on the wing: "I started as a central forward but even in Monaco sometimes played as a winger and got used to this role. I enjoy it."
