Tim Krul could not repeat his heroics from the reverse fixture, as Newcastle went down 4-0 at home to Tottenham.

Newcastle are on a horrible run of heavy defeats and it's hard to see where their season goes from here. No danger of relegation, but also no chance of Europe and no sign of confidence since the loss of Yohan Cabaye to PSG, it's a difficult spell for the club and the fans. The light at the end of the tunnel is the return of Loic Remy from suspension for the Week 27 clash against struggling Aston Villa, a game you feel Alan Pardew's side must win if they are to turn things around and secure a respectable top 10 finish.

The pair missed last weekends’ home defeat to Southampton after sustaining injuries on the eve of the match, but while Clark has been passed fit for the trip to Vicarage Road – Richardson is struggling to shake off a calf problem. "Ciaran is doing okay now," revealed Black after the defender re-joined the group in training on Thursday. "Apart from that, Kieran Richardson hasn't recovered in time from his calf injury." Micah Richards is facing a race against time to be fit for this weekend: "We will see if he is ready," said the caretaker boss.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is holding out hope that Phil Jagielka can return from a hamstring injury for the season finale against Norwich.

Jagielka was somehow able to face Manchester United in the club's FA Cup semifinal loss over the weekend despite not being medically cleared to return from a hamstring injury against Watford at the beginning of the month. But Martinez said that the club will monitor the captain after he aggravated the injury against United: "Obviously, he is going to be missing for a few games now and it is too early to tell whether or not that will be the end of his season or if he will make the final game of the campaign [against Norwich City]." But Martinez will have to find a replacement, likely Muhamed Besic, for this weekend with Ramiro Funes Mori suspended.

Crystal Palace will wait on the fitness of winger Wilfried Zaha ahead of the weekend match against a fellow relegation candidate in Newcastle.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew said Zaha has a 50 percent chance of being available after picking up the injury following the club's FA Cup semifinal win against Watford over the weekend. Said Pardew before his first trip back to Newcastle since leaving the club last year: "We have a slight concern over Zaha," said Pardew. "Other than that, everybody else is fit and well. In Wilf's case we're just going to have to monitor him over the next 48 hours, he has a slight injury." If Zaha can't go, Pardew could opt for the steady presence of Joe Ledley, which would push Jason Puncheon to the wing, or another winger in Bakary Sako.

Swansea City will be without Alberto Paloschi and Leroy Fer this weekend when they host Liverpool and the duo are a doubt to play again this season.

Both players were brought into the Welsh club during the January window, Paloschi as a transfer and Fer on a loan deal, and neither could really help turn things around for the Swans. Since arriving in time for Wewk 24, Paloschi has two goals to his credit while Fer notched two assists. The Swans look safe to stay up this season but have really fallen off the cliff the past couple of weeks, losing to Newcastle and Leicester by a combined score of 7-0. Bafetimbi Gomis has a chance to lead the line again for the Jacks though Andrew Ayew could be deployed up top. Ki Sung-Yueng has been a peripheral figure the past couple of months and may get an opportunity now to see more pitch time in the midfield.

Rafa Benitez revealed that he does not expect to have the services of defenders Fabricio Coloccini or Daryl Janmaat for Newcastle United's remaining three games.

Janmaat would have to wear a protective cast over his fractured hand, which he recently had surgery on, while additionally recovering from a groin injury. With positive displays by Vurnon Anita at right back, Benitez seems satisfied with letting Janmaat heal and counting on Anita. Coloccini ends his season unceremoniously, having suffered a setback to his calf injury which has kept him out since mid-February. With Benitez certain to exercise his opt-out clause should the Magpies be relegated, Coloccini may very well not step foot on the pitch once to play for the manager.

Jurgen Klopp revealed in his press conference ahead of Liverpool's Europa League tie with Villareal that striker Christian Benteke is fit an available for selection.

Benteke is fully recovered from knee ligament damage that kept him out of action for a month and offers much-needed depth at the striker position now that Divock Origi is sidelined. Benteke has been a big disappointment in his first season at Anfield but that will not stop Klopp from trying to extract the most he can from the Belgian. Daniel Sturridge will almost certainly be the starter for both legs of the Europa League semifinal and is the preferred option in league play, but with a heavy schedule, it is possible we see Benteke start one of the last four league games to preserve Sturridge. This will not be good news for Sturridge owners in fantasy but he will certainly have value down the stretch regardless. Benteke cannot be counted on for more than one start at this point, and should remain off of fantasy rosters.

Good news for Divock Origi as well as fans of Liverpool and the Belgian national team as forward Divock Origi's ankle injury is not severe enough as to require surgery and he could be fit in time for Euro 2016.

A scan revealed that the ligament damage surrounding Origi's ankle can heal without surgery, which should get him back on the pitch in a few weeks. While it may mean his season with Liverpool may be over, it is still encouraging that the injury is not as bad as first thought. Belgium play their first group stage match of the Euros on June 13, and the current timetable should allow Origi the chance to heal and get some training in before the competition starts.

The FA have officially handed Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli a three match ban for violent conduct, prematurely ending his season.

Alli accepted the charge for the FA but attempted to request a lesser punishment for the punch thrown at Claudio Yacob in the draw against West Brom last weekend, but to no avail. While it may be to late for Spurs to catch Leicester City for the league title, Alli's absence has a huge impact on their how the club will fare in the final few weeks. In the six matches this season in which Alli did not start, the club only managed one win, as pointed out by staff writer Ben Dinnery. Mauricio Pochettino will have to call upon the likes of Heung-min Son, Nacer Chadli or Ryan Mason to fill the void in the attacking midfield, beginning this week with the derby against Chelsea. Alli can safely be dropped in all formats unless you own him in a keeper league.

Leicester City will be hoping Leonardo Ulloa can shake off a back injury ahead of this weekend with Jamie Vardy set to miss out again.

Ulloa was deputising for the suspended striker last weekend and the Argentine silenced doubters -- who questioned whether Leicester were a one man team -- by grabbing two-goals in his first Premier League start since January. However, injury forced Ulloa off with 10 minutes remaining and the 29-year-old will be assessed ahead of the game at Old Trafford: "In the last play I felt it a little in my back and so I will wait and see," he told Sky Sports. "But I feel it a little bit still." With the news that Vardy has been given an additional one-game ban by the Football Association following an improper conduct charge – Ranieri will be relying on the availability of Ulloa to help win the Premier League title on Sunday.

Marc Wilson has calmed fears of an injury setback after the defender limped off during a behind-closed-doors game on Tuesday.

Wilson has been sidelined since January after damaging knee ligaments, but the 28-year-old is hoping to prove his fitness ahead of Euro 2016 and force his way into Martin O’Neill’s Republic of Ireland plans. However, Wilson lasted less than 50 minutes of his comeback after he was forced off during the opening exchanges of the second half. There were initial fears that the player had suffered a recurrence, but Wilson took to Twitter soon after to confirm the problem was only a minor issue: 'Injury today not as bad as first thought. Was my first real tough tackle so had some pain with it which is expected.’

Manchester City midfielder David Silva will be assessed this week after being taken off with a hamstring injury on Tuesday night.

Silva lasted only 40 minutes before coming away with yet another injury after missing parts of the season with a mixture of ankle and calf injuries. Silva only just returned from an ankle injury over the weekend against Stoke City after missing the last three Premier League matches. But the Spaniard knee he was crocked and immediately called to the bench in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid, a 0-0 draw. Now the midfielder is in doubt to return for next week's second leg at the Bernabeu, let alone this weekend as the club will hope to have Yaya Toure back as well.
