Nikica Jelavic continued his resurgence, scoring twice as Hull City rolled over Cardiff City 0-4.

Hull City took advantage of a dire Cardiff defense, creating space with ease and finishing on their chances. Regardless of how poorly the Bluebirds defended, the Jelavic/ Shane Long partnership has begun to look somewhat dangerous and Jelavic has shown he can score multiple goals in the Premier League, making him somewhat on the fantasy radar, especially in upcoming weeks with several clubs not playing. Along with scoring twice to give him three goals in three matches, he was involved in the opening goal from Tom Huddlestone.

Thibaut Courtois is the top goalkeeper pick for Week 2 of the Yahoo Fantasy Premier League game.

As you may or may not be aware, an issue in the Yahoo database on Saturday led to Courtois, Diego Costa and Alexis Sanchez dropping in price to just to £5.01million . To ensure fairness for all fantasy managers, the price of these players has been dropped down to below £6million ahead of the Week 2 deadline. Provided you're confident Courtois will remain Chelsea's number one goalkeeper then it's wise to grab him at that price while you can, plus he has a home game against Leicester.

Diego Costa is the top striker pick for Week 2 of the Yahoo Fantasy Premier League game.

The striker would've been the top striker pick of the week at £12million. At £5.26million in the Yahoo game you should buy him, place him in your starting XI, forget about that slot until May 2015 and watch the fantasy points roll in. The very definition of a season-keeper and surely set to score well against Leicester.

Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas is the top midfield pick for Week 2 of the Yahoo Fantasy Premier League game.

Seriously, how good was Fabregas against Burnley on Monday night? The midfielder has slotted straight in to the Chelsea side, looks like he'll be at the heart of everything for Mourinho and was whipping in some quality corners, so you must find a way to get him in your side ahead of the Leicester game.

Gylfi Sigurdsson is well worth considering for Week 2 given his opening weekend performance, and his fixture against Burnley.

Boss Garry Monk allowed Sigurdsson the freedom to roam just behind Wilfried Bony and this led to him causing the Manchester United defence all sorts of problems, as he grabbed an assist, a match-winning goal and a whole load of Yahoo fantasy points. That was at Old Trafford, so you have to wonder what the set piece specialist may be capable of at home to Burnley in Week Two.

Ryan Bertrand could be a wise addition to your Yahoo fantasy defence as Southampton face West Brom in Week 2.

A promising debut from Bertrand for Southampton at Anfield suggests the left-back is ready to come out of the shadows and nail down a permanent first-team spot for the first time in his career. The Saints have a cracking fixture with a potential clean sheet opportunity, so Bertrand is an absolute steal priced below £5million.

James Tomkins is a late fitness test for West Ham's match against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Tomkins is currently recovering from a hamstring injury and is questionable for the weekend. That leaves West Ham vulnerable at the back as fellow center-back James Collins is suspended for receiving a red card last match. Winston Reid is a lock to start this weekend and he has proven to be a fantastic fantasy choice even when he doesn't get a clean sheet.

New Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez will be available to face Newcastle this weekend.

Sanchez is a defensive minded midfielder who isn't likely to stuff the stat-box with goals and assist. His upside is limited to defensive stats such as tackles and interceptions, but as we've seen in the past, those are hard to come by for midfielders. We don't find it likely that Sanchez will be a great fantasy option but there is a small chance he is the next Mile Jedinak.

Ramirez missed the first week of the season through a groin injury and is now expected to be out for at least one more.

The Uruguayan midfielder still doesn't know his role in new manager Ronald Koeman's gameplan so it's hard to make an accurate estimate for his fantasy upside this year. With that in mind, Southampton played well over the weekend and were dangerous in attack with James Ward-Prowse, Dusan Tadic, and Steven Davis contributing to the attack, meaning Ramirez may very well be coming off the bench once again this season. Avoid until we see his role in Koeman's team.

Bojan Krkic's much-anticipated Stoke City debut was a bit of a dud both on the field (they lost) and for fantasy managers.

The one-time "next big thing" from the Barcelona youth system has fallen a long way at the tender age of 23 when his debut for Stoke City happened to mediocre-at-best reviews. The man they call Bojan scored a mere two points in both the Yahoo and PL.com fantasy formats. Not exactly scintillating stuff when the opponent was Aston Villa and the venue was the Britannia Stadium. He intercepted two passes and both committed and won a foul and that was about it for a full 90 minutes of work. Not an auspicious debut.

Fellow debutante Bojan made bigger headlines but Diouf has been more productive over the past two seasons but that productivity in Germany didn't translate to the Premier League in Week 1.

Former Manchester United player Mame Biram Diouf's acquisition by Mark Hughes was a bit lost in the glamour of the Bojan acquisition but recent history tells us that Diouf is the more likely to score actual goals. Unfortunately for the Potters, neither man did much on the pitch or in fantasy in Week 1. Diouf won two tackles and traded fouls for the only statistical evidence that he actually played on Saturday. It was good for a mere two points in both Yahoo and PL.com fantasy formats. Given the pre-season predictions for Aston Villa, there'sot a lot to be optimistic about with Stoke's new strikeforce after a week.

Not many of West Brom's new acquisitions played but new left back Sebastien Pocognoli played and wasn't bad for fantasy managers given he was a defender in a match with four goals scored.

Six fantasy points (Yahoo format) isn't a great deal to get excited about but when there is a nice mix of attacking stats (2 successful crosses and 2 corners won) as well as some defending stats (2 interceptions and 2 tackles won) from a defender, that's not a bad early sign of potential. When there are reinforcements - Gareth McAuley, Joleon Lescott and Cristian Gamboa - who have yet to play a match and could help the team get some clean sheets there's even more room for optimism. I'm not suggesting that Pocognoli is going to be a fantasy star but he certainly outperformed expectations in Week 1.
