Tottenham have joined the race for Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan, who is already a target for Napoli, Roma and Inter Milan.

Nainggolan is a tough tackling box-to-box Belgium international midfielder who could be brought in to replace the ageing Scott Parker in the Tottenham squad. To beat the likes of Napoli, Roma and Inter to the signing they will need the help of their new Technical Director, Franco Baldini.

Arsene Wenger left the North East with maximum points on Saturday but Arsenal had to rely on two defensive mistakes and an in-form Alexis Sanchez while the victory came at a cost.

Prior to the Sunderland game all the talk was about Theo Walcott – the England international was included in the squad that travelled to Wearside after 9 months out following an ACL rupture. However the winger was an unused substitute as Alexis Sanchez shone grabbing two goals while Arsenal were forced into two substitutions because of injury. Full-back Kieron Gibbs [hip] adds to a growing list of players currently receiving treatment with Mikel Arteta – himself just back after a calf injury – picking up a thigh problem late into the game. At the time of writing - Gibbs is still being assessed - but the initial signs for Arteta look good with reports suggesting he suffered an impact injury and not a muscular tear.

Harry Redknapp has a number of injury concerns ahead of Monday nights’ crucial Premier League game against Aston Villa at Loftus Road with up to six midfield players at risk of missing out.

Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch [both hamstring] are confirmed absentees while Sandro [groin] will face a late fitness test. Adel Taarabt won’t be considered although his well-documented fall out with Harry Redknapp is now water under the bridge with the player in line for a recall once he can prove his fitness. Alejandro Faurlin and Jermain Jenas are both long-term absentees with Niko Kranjcar becoming the latest player at risk of missing out. The Croatian was an unused substitute last weekend despite having a pain-killing injection [broken toe] but on Thursday the player was also struck down with the same bug which has affected a number of first team players including goalkeeper Rob Green. Nedum Onuoha [hamstring] and Rio Ferdinand [groin] will be assessed over the weekend.

Diafra Sakho made it 6 goals from 6 starts helping the Hammers to secure yet another three points as they topple the current Premier League champions.

Having won back to back games Allardyce decided to name an unchanged side for the visit of Manchester City despite the return to fitness of Cheikhou Kouyate. His place amongst the substitutes is a true measure of how far West Ham have progressed since last season and how successfully their summer signings have seamlessly integrated within the existing squad - Alex Song & Morgan Amalfitano have excelled in midfield while Aaron Cresswell has been a revelation at the back. In Valencia and Sakho West Ham have pace and power combined with goal scoring ability. However it is the latter which is the cause for major concern as the Senegalese striker was left nursing a shoulder injury late in the game. The player will undergo further tests this week with Allardyce sweating on the fitness of his star man with a number of important games coming up.

Wilfried Bony scored a brace to help Swansea to a much needed 2-0 win over Leicester City.

The Swansea striker was a workhorse today and impressed with his skillful finishing. He now has four goals in his last three matches and is leading Swansea to a solid Premier League campaign that sees them in sixth place right now with 14 points. Gylfi Sigurdsson was dangerous for Swansea but had to leave the pitch with an injury in the second half. He did pick up an assist beforehand. Leicester, on the other hand, didn't play well and have slowed down considerably after a hot start to the season. They continued their poor away form and find themselves with only one goal in four matches away from home.

Jose Fonte helped Southampton to another clean sheet today in their home match against Stoke City.

Southampton have the best defense in the Premier League, at least statistically, as they've only allowed five goals in nine matches. Second behind them is Chelsea, who've allowed eight goals, and everyone else is in the double digits. That is a huge jump between them and everyone else, so having at least one of their defenders is very helpful. The obvious choices are Nathaniel Clyne and Ryan Bertrand, but the Jose Fonte has had a quietly strong season and is known to be able to score a goal or two. Use him with confidence going ahead.

Stoke City's attack struggled on the road as they only had one shot on target against Southampton.

Stoke were overall not good today as they only had 38.5% possession against a dominating Southampton squad. They couldn't keep possession and the counter-attack was often stopped quickly by them giving away possession. They only registered eight shots with one of them being on target. The only time we'd recommend using Stoke players is at home, and even then, you should focus on their defense.

Alexis Sanchez capitalized on two horrible Sunderland mistakes for the only goals of a match where Arsenal will be flattered by the 2-0 scoreline.

For the second week in a row Sunderland were in a very giving mood. Arsenal weren't very good on their own but when Sunderland, first in the form of Wes Brown and then in the form of Vito Mannone, gifted Sanchez golden opportunities in alone on net he made no mistake. On either side of halftime the Chilean took a free shot on goal. Other than those Sunderland-generated chances, Arsenal didn't produce much on the day. To add injury to insult, Kieran Gibbs went off with yet another injury, this time apparently to his hip.

Sunderland mistakes effectively threw away a good home point against an Arsenal team that looked completely out of sorts as the Black Cats lost 2-0 to the Gunners.

Vito Mannone's position has to be up for serious debate after his howler late in the match leading to an Alexis Sanchez goal helped seal a 2-0 Arsenal victory. The former Arsenal reserve's mistake compounded the first half mis-kick from Wes Brown which also led to an Alexis Sanchez goal. After giving up eight goals to Southampton last weekend you get the sense that no one at the Stadium of Light is, or should be, safe in their job.

Liverpool dropped points at home to Hull City, settling for a 0-0 draw in which Mario Balotelli once again could not grab his first PL goal in a Reds shirt.

He grabs headlines when he scores, he grabs headlines when he doesn't. No matter how you slice it, Balotelli cannot help but grab headlines. Liverpool fans and fantasy owners would rather see him grab something else - A goal. The opportunities were there. Liverpool enjoyed a better than 2 to 1 possession battle, took 14 corners to the Tigers' just one, and had an 11 to 4 shot on target advantage. Alas, chance after chance went frustratingly unfinished, including a stoppage time flurry that came up empty. The Reds defense were mostly untested but credit is still due for keeping Hull out on their end. The return of Daniel Sturridge is needed to jump start the attack, he cannot come back fast enough.

Sadio Mane scored to give Southampton a 1-0 win over Stoke City and take his team to second place in the standings.

The Saints played another spectacular match and this time it was Sadio Mane who took them to victory. The young winger scored from inside the penalty box on a rebound off of a Grazianno Pelle shot. Pelle was unlucky in this one as he hit the woodwork more than once. Dusan Tadic was by far their best player once again and almost scored himself but kept being denied. All three of the Saints attackers are great options as we go forward with this season.

Hull City were under a steady bombardment by the Liverpool attack but refused to concede, earning a cheeky road point at Anfield in a 0-0 final.

Liverpool dominated the stat sheet but if there were a stat for "moxie", Hull certainly were the better side. Despite being on the back foot for most of the match, they never appeared disorganized and tore down every buildup by the Reds systematically, with Davies as the leader in the back. On the negative side, their own attack was virtually non-existent and may be a worry going forward. They will try to correct when they host a tough opponent in Southampton next weekend.
