Youssef Mulumbu scored in the 82nd minute to give Pepe Mel his first Premier League win and West Brom three critical points as they look to avoid relegation.

Swansea started about as quickly as you can start with a second minute goal. Given West Brom's miserable form you'd expect that might have been all they needed to get the three points and push the Baggies closer to the drop. Shockingly, that was the last goal the Swans would get on the day. Even more surprisingly, first Stephane Sessegnon and then Youssouf Mulumbu scored for traveling Albion to give them the points and give them a little breathing room from 18th place Sunderland who picked up a point from Norwich.

Swansea City have won their appeal of a three-match ban handed to Federico Fernandez after his midweek red card in the Capital One Cup, and is available for selection this weekend against Everton.

To the eye of a neutral fan the foul was extremely soft, if a foul at all, and the decision to lift the suspension was just. Unfortunately for Swansea fans, the man advantage Liverpool enjoyed in those last moments set up a game-winning goal, knocking the Swans out of the Cup, something they cannot appeal. Expect Fernandez to go right back into Garry Monk's XI v Everton in a not-too-appealing fantasy matchup.

Thibaut Courtois is the top keeper pick for Week 10.

Given the fact Chelsea have a home game against Queens Park Rangers and Courtois is so well priced at £7million in the Yahoo fantasy game, I'm not sure you need to consider anybody else for your goalkeeper spot. A certain victory and an excellent opportunity for a clean sheet for the Belgian stopper.

Filipe Luis will continue at left back for Chelsea's home match with QPR, making him an excellent defensive option for your fantasy team.

With Cesar Azpilicueta serving the final match of his ban after the red card picked up against the Palace in Week Eight, we can be certain that Filipe Luis will take the left-back spot for his side's home match against Queens Park Rangers. The Brazilian defender is the most affordable way to cover the potential Chelsea clean sheet, available at a shade over £7million, and will be desperate to impress Jose Mourinho in an effort to keep his place for Week Eleven.

Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak can continue his fine form as his side face Sunderland at home in Week 10.

Jedinak has officially taken over penalty duty from Jason Puncheon, so when you combine that with his already-excellent fantasy productivity from a variety of defensive contributions, the Crystal Palace captain really has become one of the most effective midfielders in the Yahoo fantasy game. A home match against struggling Sunderland will provide the Australian with the opportunity of another double-digit return,

Santi Cazorla is Nik's pick of the Arsenal midfielders for the winnable home clash with Burnley.

Cazorla has never regained the form he showed in his debut season in England, but the midfielder still performs a valuable job for Arsenal and is having a decent campaign so far. When looking at Cazorla's stats it's surprising to see that he has picked up the majority of his fantasy points for defensive work, winning eleven tackles and making nine interceptions in eight matches, but the Spaniard should be able to focus his efforts on attacking this week as Burnley visit the Emirates.

With Chelsea hosting QPR we are recommending Eden Hazard as the pick of the premium midfielders.

Wing-wizard Hazard was a top midfield pick in this column last week, but unfortunately he didn't perform well enough against Manchester United to justify his expensive price, returning a disappointing eight fantasy points. However, a home game against QPR is a different proposition altogether and we're backing Hazard to repay the faith shown in him by fantasy managers by delivering a match-winning display in Week Ten.

Alexis Sanchez is the top forward pick of Week 10 with Burnley visiting the Emirates.

Sanchez is on fire now he's fully settled in to the Premier League, bagging three goals in his last two matches to make it five Premier League goals in eight appearances. Arsenal face bottom side Burnley at home in Week 10, so it would be dangerous to leave the Chilean out of your fantasy side.

Second-half goals from Erik Lamela and Harry Kane sent Tottenham into the quarter-finals of the League Cup at the expense of Championship side Brighton.

For the second mid-week running we have Kane and Lamela scoring the goals to give Tottenham a victory. Lamela was introduced at half-time and bagged the opener within 10 minutes after some neat interplay with Roberto Soldado, before Kane sealed the win by stabbing the ball home after Soldado's shot was saved. Kane is the club's top scorer in all competitions this season with six goals and may have done enough to earn a start against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has hinted that he is ready to drop Vito Mannone and offer Costel Pantilimon an opportunity to shine.

Mannone was superb last season but it's been a difficult campaign for the Black Cats so far and the keeper has put in two especially horrible performances in a row against Southampton and Arsenal. Pantilimon deserves a chance to show the manager what he can do, but this news won't have any impact on fantasy managers, who should be wisely avoiding Sunderland players until the side shows signs of turning their form around.

QPR defender Rio Ferdinand has been suspended for three matches and fined £25,000 by the Football Association for comments he made on Twitter.

This isn't the first time Ferdinand has got himself in trouble via the medium of Twitter and it won't be the last. The ex-England man sent a tweet in reply to some criticism, which the FA deemed "abusive and/or indecent and/or insulting and/or improper", and has now been hit with a three match ban. This may not have too much impact on QPR, who have performed better since Ferdinand was dropped for Richard Dunne back in Week 8.

Manchester City suffered their second defeat in only five days as Newcastle went to the Etihad on Wednesday evening in the Capital One Cup and dominated their fourth round encounter and deservedly dumped the current trophy holders out of the competition.

Although the manner of the defeat - lacklustre & off the pace – will be of some concern and the way City have defended recently – six goals conceded in three games – the injuries suffered by David Silva [knee] and Yaya Toure [groin] will fill Pellegrini with trepidation. The Spanish playmaker lasted a mere 9 minutes when an innocuous shirt pull by the returning Ryan Taylor twisted the midfielders knee straining ligaments – his participation in this weekends’ derby is in serious doubt. Toure will also be assessed after the Ivorian departed with a groin problem although the Chilean manger is not expecting a serious issue.
