Cardiff City were beaten handily by Liverpool today 3-6, but young Jordon Mutch was a bright spot for the Bluebirds, playing a hand in all three Cardiff goals with a brace and an assist.

Mutch had been quiet, dealing with an injury since the beginning of the calendar year, but today he picked up where he left off since hamstring issues limited his playing time. The Bluebirds took an early lead thanks to a Fraizer Campbell pass from the goal line to Mutch who moved left and delivered a left footed strike to finish. Mutch then returned the favor after Liverpool equalized, by sending a through ball to Campbell, and the striker drilled it home. Then, with the game well in hand in the final minutes, Mutch grabbed his second goal of the afternoon with a header. Cardiff travel to West Brom next and while it is difficult to back a Bluebird on the road, let alone at home, Mutch deserves a look as a midfielder to use for the run in.

Peter Crouch confirmed via social media that his planned surgery to cure a niggling groin issue has been a success with the striker expected to be ready for pre-season training in July.

Crouch delayed going under the knife due to a lack of attacking options and manager Mark Hughes confirmed the 34 year-old wasn’t able to play for more than 20 minutes during the last 2 months of the season. However the former Liverpool target man was able to score against his former club in GW38 – his third goal from bench during this period. Jon Walters is another player Stoke patched up for the run-in, the Republic of Ireland international has been struggling with an ongoing knee issue and will welcome the extended break. Peter Odemwingie is back to full fitness following a ruptured ACL while Bojan Krkic has missed most of this year due to a serious knee ligament injury.

West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster will continue his recovery from a ruptured ACL by taking part in a charity cycle ride from London to Paris, a 500km route spread over 4-days.

Foster has been sidelined since mid-March after damaging knee ligaments during the home win over Stoke and the England stopper is hoping to make a return in October later this year. No stranger to the treatment room this is the third time Foster has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and biking provides the ideal non-weight bearing exercise during rehab. In his absence Boaz Myhill kept 3-clean sheets helping the Baggies to retain their BPL status while earning himself a 12-month contract extension. Youssouf Mulumbu, Chris Baird and Jason Davidson have all been released while Tony Pulis has begun negotiations with Gareth McAuley and Claudio Yacob.

Thibaut Courtois has kept 12 clean sheets in his first Premier League season.

Courtois was great in his first year at Chelsea, playing 32 matches and keeping 12 clean sheets in the process. He missed a few games through injury and due to Petr Cech pressuring him for playing time, but with Cech likely on his way out this summer, Courtois is looking at 38 matches next season. With Chelsea's defense bound to be in the top three again next season, Courtois will be a fantastic fantasy choice. He should be the first goalkeeper of the board.

Everton are interested in luring Jonny Evans away from Manchester United this summer, and they have a second player in mind should the Northern Irishman target fall through.

Rumor has it that should the Toffees fail to land Evans on a permanent deal, they will then target Tyler Blackett for a loan spell. Everton need to fill the void left by Sylvain Distin. John Stones will likely prefer the Evans plans to fall through if he remains with the club as Evans would surely be a bigger threat to his minutes than Blackett would.

Nigel Pearson wants Esteban Cambiasso to stay at Leicester next season.

Cambiasso was instrumental to Leicester staying up in the Premier League despite being 35 years of age. The Argentinian midfielder was the team's leader on the pitch and brought much needed experience to a squad not fully familiar with top flight football. He looked good towards the end of the season and seems to have another year left in the tank. If Cambiasso returns, he will be a risky late round pick next season due to a combination of age, lack of goal scoring, and lack of fitness at age 36.

Burnley striker Danny Ings will almost certainly be sold this summer and he has plenty of suitors, with Liverpool currently the favorites to land him.

With the Clarets having been relegated, it is only a matter of time before Ings exits Turf Moor. Liverpool will be shopping for a striker, especially if Mario Balotelli and Ricky Lambert are to leave this summer as expected. It is believed Burnley will command a fee between £3-£5million mark. Ings was red hot in the first half of this past season but hit a wall before finally finishing strong.

Diego Costa became just the fourth Chelsea player to score 20 years in a Premier League campaign, according to Sky Sports and Opta.

Costa was fantastic for Chelsea this season, playing the striker role he knows so well. Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas were both in the top five in chances created and Costa certainly benefit from that. There is very little reason to think Costa will slow down next season and he'll be a first round draft-pick in many fantasy formats. He is 26 years old, Chelsea are only getting better, and the Hazard/Fabregas duo isn't going anywhere. Draft him with upmost confidence.

James Milner is a target for Liverpool this summer, as his veteran leadership would be a welcome replacement for the departing Steven Gerrard.

Milner represents as close to a Gerrard replacement as one could conjure. A central midfielder, England international veteran with set piece skills in his locker, an engine-like stamina and the ability to be influential in both attack and defense. Jordan Henderson took a massive step forward last season to show that he can accomplish all this criteria but it doesn't hurt to have competition and both could wind up regulars in the XI should Milner join the club.

Aston Villa only scored 31 goals this season, which was their lowest ever in a league season, according to SkySports and Opta.

Aston Villa missed their two main strikers - Christian Benteke and Libor Kozak, for big parts of the season and that surely has to do with their low goal total. Benteke caught fire towards the end and was fantastic, but rumor has it he could leave Villa this summer. Kozak, on the other hand, didn't play a single match this year and has suffered numerous set-backs while recovering from injury. If Benteke leaves, there will be little attacking fantasy value here next season, but Kozak could provide some value in very late rounds of fantasy drafts.

Typist's nightmare Yevhen Konoplyanka appears to be headed to Stoke City on a £50,000 per week deal after tonight's Europa League final.

The Ukranian left wing has been linked to Spurs and Liverpool over the past few transfer windows but it will apparently be Mark Hughes and Stoke City who land the Dnipro man for next season. Konoplyanka's arrival leaves a doubt over the possibility of Victor Moses returning to the Britannia on a permanent deal over the summer. Moses played predominantly on the left side of midfield in his time at Stoke City. It is possible that Moses could be shifted to the right or play a more central role if he were to return but it may be that Mark Hughes is looking for a less injury-prone option than Moses proved to be.

If Arsenal are unable to secure an established big name like Karim Benzema over the summer they may be considering Villarreal's Gerard Moreno as a cheaper alternative with big upside.

Bringing in another young player with potential isn't exactly what Arsenal supporters are hoping for this summer but the club has to have a contingency plan in the event that they are unable to sign a big name. Today's rumor mill has unearthed the name of Gerard Moreno who, at age 23, scored 16 goals in La Liga for Villarreal last season. At 5'10" he isn't exactly a like-for-like replacement for Olivier Giroud but he is more substantial than the likes of Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but shorter than Danny Welbeck. It certainly feels like a pre-Ozil Wenger move but it might be the tabloids failing to re-adjust their sites after the signings of Ozil and Sanchez over the past two summers.
