Rickie Lambert led Southampton to an impressive 4-0 over struggling Newcastle.

Lambert scored and assisted on the way to the win, making fantasy owners happy. Lambert is in great form at the moment, averaging over 15 points per game in his last three. All players are better when facing poor opposition at home, but Lambert has been one of the most consistent strikers in that situation. If Southampton are playing poor opposition at home, he is a must own player. Adam Lallana, Jay Rodriguez, and the defense also put in very impressive displays and are good options in the coming weeks.

After recovering from an elbow to the face last weekend, Bruno Martins Indi will be fit for Stoke City's Week 15 trip to Arsenal.

The Potters will be happy to have Martins Indi back because Ryan Shawcross and Geoff Cameron are unlikely and definitely unable to participate respectively. Shawcross' continued absence means that Marc Muniesa is likely to get a second consecutive start for Mark Hughes' side. Expect the Potters to line up with Pieters, Muniesa, Martins Indi, and Johnson across the back in front of Lee Grant. Despite the strong results over the past month, expect the trip to the Emirates to be a little less successful for the Stoke City defense. Any fantasy interest in them should be based on the expectation that tackles won, interceptions and aerial duels won will have to more than make up for the likelihood that they will concede more than the odd goal.

Marko Aruautovic came out of the 2-0 win over the Clarets last weekend with a minor knock. He will overcome that knock and be available to start against Arsenal on Saturday.

Stoke City have come on in recent weeks as their squad has returned to something at least resembling full fitness. Integral to that is the opportunity to have Joe Allen, Marko Arnautovic and Xherdan Shaqiri all available at the same time along with first choices at right and left back. All of the above should be available for the match against Arsenal with Joe Allen boasting a crucial goal against the Gunners last season while in a Liverpool uniform. Expect the Potters to be tougher competition than their early season efforts might lead you to believe.

George Friend will miss Sunday's visit to Southampton through injury but is progressing well in his recovery process, says Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka.

Friend will remain sidelined with a knee injury for Middlesbrough's trip to the St. Mary's Stadium on Sunday. However, Aitor Karanka said he was pleased with Friend's recovery process and hopeful the defender could train with the squad on Saturday. "Hopefully tomorrow he will train with us, as it’s not a hard session," he said. "Hopefully he can be with the team on Monday." While Friend is expected to return to full fitness this month, potentially available for clashes with Liverpool (December 14) and Swansea (December 17), Fabio will continue to start in his absence.

James Morrison has apparently suffered an unspecified knock and faces a late fitness test ahead of Albion's Sunday trip to Stamford Bridge.

Tony Pulis is rapidly becoming the Bill Belichick of the Premier League. More frequently than any other manager he refers only vaguely to injuries to specific players or, even more frustratingly, vague injuries to unnamed players. This makes anticipating a likely starting line-up difficult. If Morrison doesn't go then Nacer Chadli will almost certainly rejoin the starting line-up against the Blues. Either are fringe starters given the roll Chelsea have been on recently.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that midfielder Namplays Mendy will be available for Saturday's match with Manchester City.

Mendy, who picked up an ankle problem on his debut for Leicester City, returned from a long lay-off in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League match against FC Porto. While Ranieri stated he was pleased with Mendy's return, the manager added: "He’s available, but not to play from the beginning." This means Daniel Amartey and Andy King are expected to start, with Danny Drinkwater unavailable through suspension, while Mendy's usage against Manchester City would likely come in the form of a substitute cameo.

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel could make his return from injury as early as next Tuesday's trip to Bournemouth, says manager Claudio Ranieri.

Schmeichel has not played since fracturing his hand against FC Copenhagen in early November but is progressing well and could potentially return as early as next week, according to Ranieri. While it appears that Saturday's fixture with Manchester City may come too soon for Schmeichel's return, Raneiri said: "Kasper is getting better and maybe he is ready for Bournemouth." If the Danish international is unable for either match, Ron-Robert Zeiler will continue to start.

Manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that attacking midfielder Oscar and defender John Terry will be unavailable for Sunday's clash with West Brom.

Oscar, who was named to the 18-man squad against Manchester City but did not feature last weekend, will miss Sunday's fixture with West Brom through illness. Conte also confirmed that John Terry will be unavailable as he's still recovering from a muscular problem. The omissions will likely see Nathaniel Chalobah and Ola Aina return their places on the bench, while Nemanja Matic is expected to be in contention for the starting XI.
Dec 9 - 11:04 AM

Influential midfielder Nemanja Matic, who missed last weekend through injury, is fit to play for Chelsea against West Brom on Sunday.

Matic was a surprise omission from Antonio Conte's starting XI last weekend, due to a muscle injury, but is set to make his return this weekend. According to Chelsea's official Twitter feed, Conte has confirmed that Matic has trained since Tuesday and is fit. This means Matic will likely regain his place in the starting XI for Sunday's clash with West Brom. However, if Matic is unavailable then Cesc Fabregas would be favored to replace the Serbian international.

Jurgen Klopp announced that Joel Matip will not be joining up with the Cameroon national team for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in January, much to the Liverpool manager's delight.

Cameroon would surely have Matip near the top of their center back depth chart but the Liverpool defender has opted out of the competition and will continue to be a steady presence in Jurgen Klopp's back line. While Matip, along with the rest of the Reds defense, hasn't been too productive in most fantasy formats (barring leagues where James Milner qualifies as a defender), those that own him will be happy to have one less player to worry about when AFCON rolls around. Matip is looking to shake off an ankle problem ahead of this weekend.
Dec 9 - 9:01 AM

Sadio Mane has been training this week and should be over the knock he picked up last weekend and available for Liverpool when they play West Ham United on Sunday.

Mane limped off early last weekend against Bournemouth, many thinking the event was the catalyst that led to the thrilling come-from-behind win by the Cherries. The Senegalese attacking player has been in training this week and all signs point to him playing against the Hammers. An added benefit, the match is the final one of the gameweek, late Sunday, so it offers Mane that extra day or so to be match-ready.
Dec 9 - 9:10 AM

Sean Dyche confirmed in his press conference leading up to Burnley's match against Bournemouth this weekend that Tom Heaton should be in contention.

Heaton has missed the past two league games with a calf injury but it sounds as though, barring a setback, the first choice keeper will be back between the sticks versus the Cherries on Saturday. Veteran Paul Robinson has been starting in Heaton's place and, while showing himself well against the Citizens two weekends ago, he looked a bit shaky against Stoke this past weekend, so Heaton's return would be a welcome one both for Burnley and for many fantasy managers.
