Sunderland suffered their fifth straight loss and all but solidified their fate as a relegated club in a 0-1 loss to Everton.

As poor as Sunderland have been and as red hot as Everton has been, there was little hope at kickoff of a positive result from the Black Cats, but they came to play and gave Everton all they could handle. Fabio Borini almost put them ahead in the first half with their best chance of the match, but his shot was cleared off the goal line. In the second half, it was anyone's game until Wes Brown was the culprit in an own goal that gave the Toffees all the points. With other lower table clubs winning today, it would take a miracle now for Sunderland to stay up. Phil Bardsley picked up his 10th yellow card and will now serve an automatic 2 match ban.

Danny Drinkwater has called for Leicester City to "put their stamp" on Sunday's trip to Southampton, as the Foxes go in search of their first away from the King Power Stadium this season.

While a defeat on Sunday would match the worst record by a reigning top-flight champion after 22 matches, Drinkwater has called for his side to rise to the occasion at the St. Mary's Stadium. "It’s going to be a tough game because we know the qualities that they’ve got in the team," Drinkwater told LCFC.com. "It’s up to us to stop them by putting our stamp on the game." The emphasis put on this weekend's fixture has much to do with Leicester's current struggles as the Foxes have scored just one goal in their last four league matches and conceded 34 goals this season, only two fewer than all of their title-winning campaign.

After initially insisting that Gaston Ramirez would not be leaving Middlesbrough, boss Aitor Karanka has revealed that bids for the playmaker will be considered.

Ramirez is currently sidelined with a knee injury and been ruled out for Saturday's match with West Ham, but speculation about his future at Middlesbrough has been heating up. Last week rumors emerged linking the 26-year-old Argentine to Leicester City, with a suggestion that the Foxes were willing to offer £15m for the attacking midfielder. When asked about Ramirez in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's clash at the London Stadium, Aitor Karanka said: "If the offer arrives and he wants to leave then we will consider it. There is no chance of him leaving at the moment because we have not received one offer for him. Again, if the offer arrives and he wants to leave then we will consider it." The news come just a week after Karanka initially said their was "no chance" of Ramirez leaving.

Sunderland manager David Moyes seemed thrilled to announce that Jack Rodwell is in contention for the weekend.

Rodwell was expected to miss a few weeks after suffering a medial ligament injury to his knee last weekend, but scans revealed no such damage. Meanwhile, Moyes said forward Victor Anichebe and winger Steven Pienaar are also close to a return and could face West Brom this weekend: "Victor, Steven and Jack did a little bit of running yesterday so we'll have to assess them this morning, but I'm hopeful we can get at least one back. At the time we thought Jack had damaged his medial ligament but he had a scan and there was nothing there, so he should be okay."

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that new winter arrival Gabriel Jesus has received international clearance.

That means the 19-year-old Brazilian phenom will be available to make his Manchester City debut against Tottenham on Saturday, where Guardiola said he will be in the squad. The striker arrives from Palmeiras (12 league goals) where he spent the first half of the Premier League season on loan before arriving this month: "He is fit, he is ready to be involved in the squad," Guardiola said. "He is going to help us in the Premier League. He is a young player, 19, so we cannot think he will solve our problems."he said. "He will have all the time to get involved."

Stoke City officially announced the signing of West Brom forward Saido Berahino to a five-and-a-half-year contract.

The 23-year-old striker arrives for a £12 million fee that could rise to £15 million in add-on fees in the future. The Potters worked quickly, after news broke Friday that the sides had agreed to a move and Berahino was heading to Stoke for a medical. However, Berahino won't be available for the weekend match against Manchester United. Said chief executive Tony Scholes: "It's no secret that we have been looking to bring Saido to the Club for a long time and to suggest that we are pleased to have finally concluded the deal is an understatement. We've signed a young English striker who has already proven his ability in the Premier League. After a frustrating period he's now desperately keen to reignite his career and we look forward to seeing him do that with us."

Striker Leonardo Ulloa is seeking a move to leave the Premier League champions during the January transfer window, says his agent.

Ulloa handed in a transfer request on Thursday, after talks with Leicester officials on his future broke down, and now looks set depart the King Power Stadium. The Leicester City Mercury is reporting Spanish side Alaves has made a £5million bid for the 30-year-old Argentine. Ulloa has made 12 appearances for the Foxes this season, scoring one goal.

Antonio Conte says Diego Costa will be available for selection but did not confirm whether or not he will return to the starting XI after he missed last week's win at Leicester City.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Conte says he has a tough decision to make about selecting which attacking players to start Sunday's clash with Hull City, as Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro are coming off strong outings at the King Power Stadium. Conte said: "I have to pick three players and if someone misses out it’s not a punishment, only because at that moment I like to make choices based on the game and the opponent, that’s very important to me." While Conte refused to confirm whether or not Diego Costa would start Sunday's match, he did reveal that the striker is very happy at Stamford Bridge and wants to stay. "Our challenge is to keep the right concentration and to think this type of game is very important for the table if you take three points," Conte said. Should Costa feature, it would mark his 100th appearance for Chelsea.

West Brom has agreed on a fee for the sale of Saido Berahino to Stoke City and the player is on his way to the Britannia for his medical.

Berahino was once one of the bright up-and-coming players in the league. After having his head turned by transfer opportunities to bigger clubs he fell out with West Brom who have effectively banished him for the better part of a season and a half. If the move to Stoke City is finalized Berahino will have a chance to get his career back on track. It is worth remembering that he has a 14-goal campaign to his credit for a team that was never particularly potent.

Heurelho Gomes faces a late fitness check as the Hornets travel to the South Coast to face Bournemouth in Week 22 action.

Bournemouth have been a difficult team to predict this season after crushing Swansea 3-0, taking Arsenal to the limit in a 3-3 draw and losing 3-1 to Hull City over their past three matches. That makes predicting the value of a goalkeeper facing the Cherries difficult under any circumstances. Traveling to face them and facing uncertain health makes Heurelho Gomes a massive unknown for Match Week 22 and should probably lead fantasy managers to avoid him if at all possible.

Dutch international Janmaat, who has been out since Boxing Day when he strained his groin, could return to the Hornets line-up for their Week 22 trip to Bournemouth.

After posting strong fantasy numbers at Newcastle in their relegation season, Janmaat has been a huge disappointment since arriving at Watford. His play has been spotty when he has been healthy and he hasn't been healthy that often either. Until Janmaat proves that he's healthy and ready to contribute in the Watford system he's not worth so much as a roster spot any but the deepest single-ownership formats.

Jonny Evans once again faces a late fitness test as he looks to return to the West Brom line-up after suffering a calf injury.

Evans has been struggling with a calf complaint on and off for about a month now. The former Manchester United center back's initial calf issue popped up during Week 17 and here we are heading to Week 22 and he's still not certain to be ready to go. Unless you can leave decision making to the last minute it is probably best to assume that Evans won't be available yet again. The upside is that if he does play he has a home date against Sunderland which could be a win and a clean sheet.
