Rickie Lambert is not fit to start Southampton's match against Swansea this weekend and could be forced to miss the match through injury.

Lambert has picked up a knock on his gluteus maximus but the injury is not considered serious and Lambert should be fit sooner rather than later. The injury is not expected to impact his availability for the World Cup. In his absence, Sam Gallagher will likely lead the line for Southamptnon. With only one match this week, neither Gallagher nor Lambert are good options in fantasy leagues. Gaston Ramirez, Maya Yoshida, Kelvin Davis, and Jay Rodriguez are all out for the Saints due to long term injuries.

Toby Alderweireld should be available for Southampton in week 28.

Alderweireld was out for seven weeks with a hamstring issue but is finally deemed fit and should be available for selection against Crystal Palace in midweek. It's a bit risky to use Alderweireld in fantasy due to the fact he might come off the bench since he hasn't played in such a long time, but he'll be a great choice starting next week.

Graziano Pelle could lose his starting job after a series of horrible performances.

Pelle has been absolutely horrific in recent weeks and just can't finish regardless of how good his chances have been. Ronald Koeman might choose to bench him in favor of Shane Long or another one of his winger/forward options. Regardless of whether he plays, we recommend not using Pelle in fantasy during this rough stretch.

Mile Jedinak has been charged by the FA for violent conduct for allegedly hitting Diafra Sakho last weekend.

The referee didn't see the incident but it was caught on camera and Jedinak was later charged by the FA. he has been given a four-match ban but he has the option to challenge the charge before 6 pm on Tuesday. Steer clear of Jedinak this week and be ready to find a replacement for four weeks if the charge stands. The ban is four matches instead of three because this would be his second red-card of the season.

Tottenham and QPR both have a double gameweek in week 28.

Tottenham and QPR were both out of action in week 27 due to Tottenham's Capital One Cup final against Chelsea so they are making up their game this week. This gives both teams' players two chances to earn fantasy points and it's generally a wise idea to stack up on double gameweeks whenever possible. Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose, and Charlie Austin are some good options for the double week.

Ron Vlaar is questionable for Tuesday's match against West Brom with an injury.

Vlaar served a suspension in gameweek 27 and now is in danger of missing week 28 through an injury. Tim Sherwood has labeled him "touch and go", so it's not exactly clear whether he'll be able to play on Tuesday. Avoid him in fantasy for the week, especially with Villa not being able to keep any clean sheets lately. Kieran Richardson and Phillippe Senderos continue to be out while Alan Hutton and Aly Cissokho are doubts.

England and Sunderland footballer Adam Johnson has been arrested on suspicion of sex with a 15-year-old girl.

Durham Police said in a statement: "A 27-year-old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of sexual activity with a girl under 16. He remains in police custody and is helping officers with their enquiries." Sunderland have since announced Johnson has been suspended by the club pending the outcome of the police investigation. You should avoid selecting the player for your fantasy team for the foreseeable future.

The Football Association has rescinded Sunderland defender Wes Brown's red card in his side's 2-0 defeat at Manchester United on Saturday.

In a case of mistaken identities, Wes Brown was sent off instead of teammate John O'Shea as Sunderland dropped a 2-0 decision at Old Trafford on Saturday. However, the decision has been overturned by the FA. "An independent regulatory commission has upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal," read an FA statement. "Therefore, his one-match ban has been withdrawn with immediate effect." The Black Cats have avoided a ban for either player as Brown's red card will not be transferred to O'Shea and both are available to boss Gus Poyet for the match at Hull on Tuesday.

Roberto Martinez has revealed that Everton full-back Leighton Baines is likely to miss the Stoke City game on Wednesday after picking up a thigh injury during training on Friday.

Baines has been struggling of late with a knee problem and was rested as a precaution for the Europa League game against BSC Young Boys on Thursday but "took a knock to the quad" as the squad prepared for the trip to the Emirates. The England international is very doubtful for the trip to the Britannia while it is "hoped" Baines can return for the quarter-final clash against Dynamo Kiev in 11 days’ time. In his absence and with Bryan Oviedo sidelined because of a hamstring injury youngster Luke Garbutt is likely to deputise after two solid performances. Everton slumped to 14th in the Premier League following their 11th defeat of the season on Sunday and under pressure boss Martinez will be hoping for a change of fortune in GW28.

Gylfi Sigurdsson was a noticeable absentee on Saturday as Swansea travelled to Turf Moor to take on Burnley in a game which would mark their second Premier League record in a matter of 7 days.

Following on from last weekends’ first ever league double over Manchester United Swansea were able to hit the 40 point mark in record time to all but guarantee that the Jacks remain in the top-flight next season. Even more impressive was the manner of the victory – a hard fought battling display which maybe lacked the panache and guile normally associated with Swansea demonstrating a tougher more resilient side without their star man. A hamstring injury curtailed any involvement for Sigurdsson but Tom Carroll gave an assured display while a Jack Cork effort [which hit the crossbar] was turned in by the unfortunate Kieran Trippier to seal the win. The Icelandic international joins Kyle Bartley [the only other sidelined player] in the treatment room.

West Brom will be hoping the injury news on strike duo Brown Ideye and Saido Berahino is positive after the pair limped out of Saturdays’ win over Southampton potentially leaving Tony Pulis without a recognised centre-forward for Tuesdays’ derby at Villa Park.

Following the deadline day collapse of his move away from the Hawthorns Ideye has thrived under Tony Pulis and is now beginning to look like the hot prospect he was once touted. The Nigerian international has formed an excellent partnership with team mate Saido Berahino and the pair have enjoyed a lot of success in front of goal recently [7 in 5 games]. But post-match on Saturday Pulis revealed the pair were being assessed after picking up knocks – a concern given both had been struggling prior to GW27 and needed pain-killing injections. With such a short turnaround the medical team will need to work hard to give either a chance although Victor Anichebe could return following his recent recovery from a groin complaint.

Stewart Downing has slowed down in recent weeks after a hot start to the season.

The West Ham midfielder has not been horrific but also hasn't shown the form he was displaying early in the season. He's averaged just 6.5 fantasy points over the last four weeks in the Yahoo! game and at this point, there are better players in his price range that you should be considering. Take him out of your Yahoo! lineup while he regains form, but keep him in draft leagues.
