Scott Sinclair is set to be given a lifeline by new Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, who has arranged crunch talks with a clutch of players.

Sinclair had a disastrous first season at Manchester City, starting just 3 games in all competitions after his £6million move from Swansea, and many expected the young winger to leave the club this summer. However, The Sun suggest that Pellegrini is determined to get the best out of fringe players such as Sinclair, who has never been given regular action but has impressed the club’s top brass with his attitude. The new boss also wants discussions with Carlos Tevez and Gareth Barry, who have 12 months to run on their contracts.

The future of Manchester United defender Luke Shaw at the club is thought to be intertwined with Man City's hunt for Spurs' Danny Rose

The former Southampton man has fallen out of favour at United this season under new manager Jose Mourinho and has been subject to much speculation of late. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is understood to believe that he has a good chance of luring England international Danny Rose to the Etihad in a deal worth £50 million, with Spurs looking to draft in Luke Shaw to replace him.

Stoke City are rumoured to be lining up a bid for Hull full-back Andrew Robertson.

Robertson has been linked with moves away from the club for some time, with a variety of clubs apparently interested. However, Hull are preparing to try and hold onto the promising Scottish defender through another transfer window, having fended off a £10 million bid for his services in January from Burnley.

West Ham United are preparing a bid for Hull defender Josh Tymon according to media reports.

Tymon, 17, has caught the eye of a number of potential suitors with his performances for the senior team this season including the Hammers. It's unlikely that his name will stop circulating in the media until he signs his first professional contract, which has been under negotiation for a number of months.

Arsenal supporters will be boosted by talisman Alexis overcoming his ankle injury to take the field for Chile against Argentina in World Cup qualifying.

There are still massive questions about Sanchez's future at the Emirates but for the short term it seems likely he will be back for the stretch run. The Gunners will be hoping to overtake at least two of Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Spurs to return to the Champions League yet again under Arsene Wenger. Failure to do so could see the club start in on a series of changes in the squad and in management.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil's month has only continued to get worse with the German picking up another injury.

The German playmaker is not expected to be available for Germany's World Cup qualifier with Azerbaijan on Sunday after sustaining a back injury, according to a statement from the German FA: "Mesut Ozil is suffering from back problems and sat out the final training session in Kamen this morning." Ozil already missed Wednesday's friendly against England due to a hamstring injury and has missed much of the month due to illness. Despite not even playing during the international break, Ozil could return to Arsenal in worse shape than he left.

Sunderland's relegation race just took on entirely new implications with the future of Jerman Defoe at stake.

The 34-year-old has been the club's clear standout player over the past two seasons and leads the Black Cats in scoring this season with 14 goals, which led to a recall into the England national team for the current international break. Despite his form, Sunderland currently sit bottom of the Premier League and, if relegated, Defoe said he will likely leave to save his international career: "You have to be realistic, to get into any squad is based on merit and to do that you have to be playing at the top level...So, yeah, I would say you would need to be playing in the Premier League but we'll see what happens"

Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser did not make his international debut as expected against Canada on Wednesday due to a swollen knee.

The Scotsman was called up for the first time by his country for this international break but could not take to the field against the Canadians after he suffered his injury on the day of the game. Scotland assistant manager Mark McGhee hopes that Fraser can be fit in time to face Slovenia on Sunday: " "Ryan will get a check... They will then make a decision on whether there is anything they can push Ryan towards, to try to get him fit."

Seamus Coleman is likely to miss the rest 2017 after sustaining a double leg fracture during Friday night’s World Cup qualifier against Wales in Dublin.

The Everton wing-back was on the receiving end of a horrific Neil Taylor challenge which left Coleman sprawled on the Aviva Stadium turf with Shane Long comforting his international teammate before being stretchered off. Coleman will have surgery, most likely a plate and screw method, to fix the fracture. Typically, recovery from this type of injury will physically take around 9 months, although the timeline can be affected by setbacks or complications during rehab. However, psychologically it may take a little longer for Coleman to return to the peak of his game. Following a similar injury in 2010, Aaron Ramsey admitted he didn’t feel fully confident and back to his best until three years later. We wish Coleman all the very best and a speedy recovery.

Hull City centre-back Harry Maguire is still sought by West Ham according to reports.

The Hammers already took City's top scorer Robert Snodgrass from the club earlier in the season. The defender's eye-catching displays since breaking into the first team this season have seen him linked to a variety of clubs, but his performances did not merit an expected England call-up as Gareth Southgate favoured Boro's Ben Gibson to the 24 year old. Rumours linking Maguire to a move will intensify if Hull's chances of relegation worsen as he has one year remaining on his current contract. The Tigers may be forced to cash in this summer while they can if they fail to dodge the drop.

Kevin de Bruyne is hoping to be fit for next weekend despite his withdrawal from the Belgium squad because of injury.

Roberto Martinez confirmed on Friday that De Bruyne would miss the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Greece and subsequent friendly with Russia on Tuesday after he "felt pain after yesterday’s session." However, initial reports indicate that his omission was more of a precaution with De Bruyne expected to be available for the trip to Arsenal when the Premier League fixtures reconvene in seven days. City can ill-afford any slip-ups at this stage of the season if they harbour any real hopes of catching Chelsea at the top - the Citizens are currently 12pts adrift - and Pep will need of all his big hitters available despite the Gunners winning just one of their last five Premier League matches.

Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg wants manager Claude Puel to be able to trust him on the pitch.

The Denmark international admitted that he has been having a tough time lately as he has played most of his football with the Saints' U-23 team, the latest blow being omitted from his country's squad for the ongoing international break. The 21 year old explained: "I would lie if I said I felt fantastic but football is sometimes like this." The former Bayern Munich man added that he respects his manager's decisions, but he added that he deserves to play and is capable too: "I think if you ask everybody in the team, they would say they deserve it... So, if you deserve it or not, this is not the right question. More the question is: Am I good enough to be in the squad? Yes I am." Hojbjerg has been a victim of Southampton's move to a 4231 formation, with Davis and Romeu occupying his slot in the XI.
