The Real Madrid Galatico transfer game plan is playing out as expected with more rumors about a possible Suarez transfer in today's papers.

First it was a rumor in club-friendly Spanish newspaper Marca yesterday. Today comes a specific price (£73m) and the possible allure of some players who could be swapped as part of the deal (Fabio Coentrao and Alvaro Morata are the first names mentioned). With Liverpool on the rise and offering Suarez Champions League football, the situation isn't quite the same as Gareth Bale last season. That said, Real is the reigning Champions League winner and it is a stretch to think Liverpool are one of the favorites to win the world's most prestigious club competition over the next few seasons even if they can keep their place in England's top four. It will be a fascinating and at the same time really tiresome saga over the course of the summer.

West Ham United remain reluctant to sell Dimitri Payet, rejecting a third offer from Marseille worth around £22.5m, according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports is reporting that West Ham, who value Payet at £30m and have already turned down a pair of previous bids, consider the latest approach unacceptable. Additional reports out of France suggest Paris St Germain and Nice are also interested in the 29-year-old but the Hammers remain determined to not sell their star playmaker on the cheap. Meanwhile, West Ham have won back-to-back league matches without their French international. Payet, who continues to train with their Under-23 squad, has scored 15 goals in 60 appearances since he arrived in the summer of 2015 and signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract last February.

Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Chelsea versatile defender Fikayo Tomori, 19, on loan until the end of the season.

Tomori won the Chelsea Academy Player of the Year award last season and made his senior debut for the Blues against Leicester City on the final day of last season. The 19-year-old, who can play in central defense or at right-back, was a member of Chelsea's academy side that won the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League in both 2014/15 and 2015/16. The promising youngster now moves to Brighton & Hove Albion for his first loan spell away from Stamford Bridge.

Southampton youngster Josh Sims has signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2020.

Sims is a product of the Southampton academy, and broke into the first team in November when they played Everton. He has gone on to make eight senior appearances for the club, including four in the Premier League. Sims, 19, also represents England at underage level. Sims' reaction was quotes on the club's website: "I’m absolutely delighted to sign a new contract with the club. I’m really happy that the club have put faith in me to offer me a new contract... I can’t really put into words how good it has been recently, but I just need to push on now and continue my progress."

Southampton manager Claude Puel today discussed the possibility of signing a new defender to replace former club captain Jose Fonte.

As it stands, Yoshida and Van Dijk appear to be Puel's preferred two in the heart of defence, with Gardos and Stephens held in reserve. However, Puel has not ruled out the possibility of signing a new centre-back if the right option becomes available: "We will study possibilities to replace him... I am happy with these players and if one or two come into the squad then I think it will be important they can bring something more than the players for the moment in the squad."

Sean Dyche admits the knee injury sustained by Dean Marney at the Emirates on Sunday "is a worry" although there's no indication currently on the extent of his problem.

The Burnley midfielder landed awkwardly and hurt his right knee when he was booked for a challenge on Mesut Ozil with less than 20 minutes remaining. Marney spent more than nine months on the sidelines in 2015 after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament and there are fears he may have suffered a similar fate which would effectively end his season. Only four Clarets outfield players have seen more game time than the 32-year-old in 2016/17 and Marney has become an integrate part of Sean Dyche's side. His absence could hand Joey Barton his opportunity after signing on a short-term deal earlier this month.

Leicester City has rejected a £1.7m bid from La Liga outfit Alaves for wantaway forward Leonardo Ulloa.

Sky Sports is reporting that the club shot down the bid as they believe the offer is below their valuation of Ulloa. Despite Claudio Ranieri repeatedly stating he is keen to keep Ulloa at the King Power Stadium, the 30-year-old handed in a transfer request last week in an effort to force a move. According to Ulloa's representatives, the striker feels unappreciated because he has failed to crack Ranieri's first team and the club have not rewarded him, like other squad members, with a new contract. Ulloa has made 29 appearances in Leicester's title-winning campaign but started just one league match this season, and is currently sidelined because of a thigh injury.

West Ham United has sent forward Toni Martinez out on loan to Oxford United for the remainder of the season.

Martinez signed on a three-year deal at London Stadium last summer after joining West Ham on a £2.4m from La Liga outfit Valencia. The 19-year-old has been one of the top performers for the club's Premier League 2 side this season, scoring 12 goals in 13 competitive matches, but is yet to make his senior debut. On his move to Oxford, Martinez told the League One club's website: "This is a great opportunity at a very good club. It is an important step for me and one I am really looking forward to."

Hull City have confirmed in a statement on the club's website Ryan Mason is awake and speaking about the incident which injured him in yesterday's match with Chelsea.

Mason was involved in an aerial clash of heads with Gary Cahill as he tried to clear the ball from his own box on Sunday which left him sprawled on the Stamford Bridge turf for several minutes before he could be moved safely by medics. The club also confirmed that Club Captain Michael Dawson, Club Doctor Mark Waller, Head of Medical Rob Price and Club Secretary Matt Wild all visited Mason this on Monday morning. The club also relayed the appreciation of Mason's family for all the support which has been expressed for the midfielder: 'Ryan and his family have also been extremely touched by the overwhelming support they have received and would very much like to thank all of those who have posted such positive comments both on social media and in the press over the last 24 hours.'

Hull City have announced the surprise loan signing of Lazar Markovic from Liverpool until the end of the season.

The Serbian forward has been away from Anfield on loan in recent times. Last season he was in Turkey with Fenerbahce, while this term he has been at Sporting Lisbon. He had originally joined the Portuguese club until the end of the season but this agreement was cut short by the mutual consent of the two clubs. He played a paltry 14 times (2 goals) for Sporting and played for more than 60 minutes just once. Hull manager Marco Silva is familiar with 22 year old Markovic, who he managed for one season at Benfica before the forward moved on to Liverpool for £20 million. Markovic is best suited to playing on the right wing, but has experience in the middle of the front line too.

Sunderland face the prospect of losing Papy Djilobodji for the games against Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Everton after he was charged with violent conduct by the Football Association on Monday.

Referee Craig Pawson missed the incident at the Hawthorns, but video replays show Djilobodji raising his hands to West Brom midfielder Darren Fletcher in the 86th minute which has resulted in the player being charged retrospectively. In a statement released by the FA, they said: ‘Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite officials. Each panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence.’ Djilobodji has until 6pm GMT on Tuesday to reply to the charge but David Moyes is likely to be without his centre-back for the next four matches as he has already been sent off this season. The Black Cats could face Tottenham in game week 23 with up-to 13 players missing from their squad.

Mauricio Pochettino has played down injury fears after Toby Alderweireld was replaced midway through the second half of Saturdays draw at the Etihad.

The Tottenham manager insisted his withdrawal was "more of a precautionary measure" despite Alderweireld saying post-match that he felt as if his "hamstring was going to snap". Pochettino confirmed the Belgium centre-back felt muscular tightness "but I don’t believe it’s a big issue," those sentiments were echoed later by the player who advised "I didn’t want to risk being out for 6-7 weeks, it feels fine now". Alderweireld will be assessed over the coming days but the early signs look positive which is good news given that teammate Jan Vertonghen has been side-lined for around six weeks after damaging ankle ligaments recently. Tottenham do have options. Kevin Wimmer came in for his first league start since New Year's Day but endured a difficult opening forty-five against City while Ben Davies could be considered in a slight formational change. Victor Wanyama is able to provide defensive cover if needed, although it’s not an ideal solution.
