Spain went from tournament contenders to a team in complete disarray after being shocked by The Netherlands in a 1-5 defeat to open their group stage.

Today's result is the worst defeat ever handed to a defending champion in the history of World Cup play. The opening half hour looked like the script everyone expected, Spain possession and persistence led to a penalty awarded to when Diego Costa was tripped in the box. Xabi Alonso converted from the spot and it seemed at that point, the worst that could happen would be a draw. But they went on to concede five times, with each goal exposing them more and more. David Silva was not much of an influence and Fernando Torres offer no help as a substitute. Spain can afford to slip like this once, but must right the ship against a tough Chilean side next week.

Loic Remy remains questionable for gameweek 33 with a calf injury.

Jose Mourinho stated today that he "doesn't know" if Remy will be fit for the derby against Manchester United this weekend but has a better than 50/50 chance. That tells us almost nothing about who will start against Manchester so we would recommend avoiding both Remy and Didier Drogba in leagues where the lineups lock at the first match. Hopefully Remy plays at least some part of this match and is then nailed on as a starter for the double gameweek coming up in week 34.

Marc Wilson is doubtful for Stoke City's match with Southampton as he recovers from a hip injury picked up against West Ham last weekend.

Marc Wilson has had a rough 2015 so far with injuries and it may well continue in Week 33 after he picked up a hip injury against West Ham last weekend. With Wilson potentially out, Erik Pieters is likely to return to the starting line-up. With Southampton a strong opponent neither Wilson nor Pieters has a ton of value and even less so given the uncertainty between the two.

Victor Moses has been ruled out for the balance of the season with a hamstring injury picked up in Week 32.

Stoke City's attack has been hit with another season-ending injury as Victor Moses has been ruled out for the season. The injury effectively ends a very successful loan spell for Moses at Stoke City. The club will likely make a big summer push to make the move permanent with the player also likely being willing as a push into the Chelsea first team seems highly unlikely regardless of how well the season at Stoke City went. For the rest of this season, it may open up more playing time for Marko Arnautovic.

Brown Ideye continues to suffer from a lingering knee injury and will be assessed ahead of Week 33's trip to Selhurst Park.

West Brom have been terrible for three matches running and Tony Pulis will look to any and all options as he looks to rebound against the club he saved from relegation a season ago. Pulis played Ideye last weekend in the loss to Leicester City but any and all positions in the starting line-up have to be considered up for grabs based on recent poor performance. With Ideye still not fully fit his might be the first position under scrutiny.

Radamel Falcao has struggled mightily this season but Louis Van Gaal might be forced to start him due to the injury crisis United is suffering.

Falcao has gone from world superstar to human victory cigar in what seems like record time since his arrival at Old Trafford. Week 33 could represent a chance at some small measure of redemption. With Wayne Rooney potentially forced back into midfield to cope with the absences of Carrick and Blind and RvP just returning to fitness, Falcao could start at forward for Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. It's certainly no guarantee but for those invested in the Colombian hitman at least there's a chance.

Scans have revealed a grade two hamstring strain for Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis, giving him a three to four week timetable for recovery.

Gomis came off the pitch last weekend in the Swans match against Everton after seventeen minutes, with Marvin Emnes replacing him. Nelson Oliveira and Emnes are the two candidates to fill in for Gomis, as Oliveira has recovered from his own injury to give Garry Monk a selection decision. The uncertainty of who will be selected means any thought of investing in a budget forward option here too risky. Monk may use the situation to alternate starts between the two, as both have logged very few minutes in league play on the season. Whoever gets the start against Leicester though, has the opportunity to perform well enough to stay there for the next few matches.

Callum McManaman has been passed fit for action as West Brom travel to Selhurst Park in Week 33 Premier League action.

McManaman hasn't contributed much since his arrival from Wigan in January having missed significant time due to injuries. He has now recovered from a foot injury that seemed to drag on and on and is fit for action. It seems unlikely that he will be thrust right back into the starting line-up but with West Brom playing poorly, anything is possible as Tony Pulis looks to shake things up. Still, fantasy managers should view McManaman as a tertiary option at best.

Daniel Sturridge has not been ruled out of Liverpool's FA Cup semifinal match against Aston Villa this weekend, but signs are not positive as the striker had been absent from training as of yesterday.

After seeming to have gotten over his hip issue in time to face Blackburn Rovers nine days ago, it appears he may have come back too soon. He then missed the league match against Newcastle United entirely and now looks to miss this crucial cup tie. For fantasy managers, it puts a wrench in any plans of investing in him for the upcoming double gameweek, as it seems safe to assume Rodgers will not want to start him in both of those games. Raheem Sterling looks the best bet to play up top against the Villans on Sunday.

Marcos Rojo will miss out on a chance to start in Manchester United's big match against Chelsea with an abdominal issue.

Marcos Rojo's season hasn't gone to script after arriving as a big money signing after performing well at the World Cup over the summer. With Louis Van Gaal unable to get traction with a 3-5-2 formation, Rojo has mostly had to watch as Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have seized the starting center back spots. Phil Jones' ankle injury will keep him out of the Week 33 match at Stamford Bridge but Rojo won't be able to capitalize because he will miss out himself with an abdominal injury. With Jonny Evans still suspended, look for either Paddy McNair or Tyler Blackett to deputize against the leaders.

Daley Blind will miss the Week 33 match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with an ankle injury picked up when Vincent Kompany came in high on the United utility player in last weekend's Manchester Derby.

Blind's injury leaves two holes for Louis Van Gaal to fill. In recent weeks, Blind has been playing left back in place of an injured and frequently ineffective Luke Shaw. Earlier in the season, Blind was frequently deployed as a holding midfielder in place of the injured Michael Carrick who is again injured. Luke Shaw will be available to take back the left back spot but holding midfield is definitely up for grabs with both Blind and Carrick absent. Louis Van Gaal has indicated that he might be forced to revert to playing Wayne Rooney in the deep-lying role and rushing Robin van Persie back into the line-up.

Luke Shaw has been out for five weeks but is likely to be rushed back into the fire against Chelsea as Manchester United try to cope with an injury crisis in defense.

Luke Shaw hasn't been good this season when he has been healthy and he hasn't been healthy all that much either. Shaw's latest injury came in Manchester United's FA Cup loss to Arsenal a little over a month ago. He has been back in training for only a short time but it appears likely that he will be rushed back into the starting eleven due to the absence of Daley Blind who has been deputizing at left back and Marcos Rojo who has played there occasionally for United and Argentina. Look for Jose Mourinho to test the left side of United's defense frequently.
