Sunderland have signed Manchester City goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon.

Pantilimon came in to City's lineup a few times last year when Joe Hart was struggling and seems to have made a big enough impression to be brought in as a starter. Pantilimon has stated he wants to start and it sounds like he has been promised a starting spot ahead of Vito Mannone. Sunderland showed huge improvement towards the end of last season and Pantilimon could be a sneaky fantasy choice when the matchup is right next season.

Young Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been included in England's squad for the European Championships in France this summer.

Just about everything that could go write for Rashford has since his introduction in the Europa League earlier in 2016. He scored twice on his debut. He then starred again against Arsenal in his first Premier League start with two goals and an assist. He ended the season with five league goals and two assists in eleven starts. That earned him a new four-year contract at Manchester United and a place in England's 23-man squad for the Euros in France this summer. Don't bet against him making an impression at some point in the tournament. It's been that sort of year for the youngster.

The England U21 squad was victorious over hosts France in the finals of the Toulan tournament with Chelsea teammates Lewis Baker and Ruben Loftus-Cheek providing the goals in the 2-1 win.

Chelsea's youth set-up has been an exciting group to watch for a couple of seasons now. With Nathan Ake already making their mark as starters on loan in the Premier League and Ruben Loftus-Cheek playing on the fringes of the Chelsea first team, there are high hopes for the current crop of Chelsea kids. With Blues at the core of the Toulan winners, supporters will be hoping that Antonio Conte is more focused on promoting youngsters than his predecessor. Other Premier League players - Calum Chambers, Jordan Pickford, Matt Targett, Duncan Watmore, Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse also featured in the win.

Manchester United's in-house television station, MUTV, has reported that Michael Carrick has signed a one year contract to stay at Old Trafford.

With his health and effectiveness waning, there has been plenty of speculation about Carrick's future. The question of whether he will be staying has now been settled with the signing of his new contract. What is certainly up in the air is how much he will play. Jose Mourinho is surely going to use Morgan Schneiderlin more than Louis Van Gaal did but who partners the Frenchman in holding midfield remains to be seen. Carrick, Schweinsteiger and Fellaini are all candidates but none seem likely to be high on Mourinho's list of options. Look for a new signing unless Mourinho fancies Daley Blind in the role.

Gary Cahill and Daniel Sturridge have returned to full training with the England national team after missing the past week.

Sturridge has yet to feature for the Three Lions in the team's pre-Euro friendlies over the past two weeks due to a calf injury while Cahill was held out of action against Australia due to a hip complaint. But Sturridge's place in the final squad could be in danger with Marcus Rashford impressing in his debut on Friday with a goal in the first three minutes. Meanwhile, Ryan Bertrand was held out of training as he receives treatment for a knock while Fabian Delph looks to miss out on the tournament due to injury.

Defensive woes deepen for Belgium coach Marc Wilmots after Nicolas Lombaerts and Dedryck Boyata were omitted from the Red Devils European Championship squad.

Lombaerts has been struggling since earlier this month due to an ongoing hamstring problem and Wilmots today made the decision to axe the Zenit Saint-Petersburg defender in favour of the uncapped Christian Kabasele. International teammate Boyata is another who will be leaving the Belgium camp after suffering an unspecified muscular problem in training on Monday - the pair join captain Vincent Kompany on the sidelines who recently underwent thigh surgery. However, with Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Jason Denayer and Thomas Vermaelen still at his disposal, Wilmots will not be panicking just yet: "It's not too bad after all," revealed the 47-year-old.

Manchester United has taken a step toward its future by signing Marcus Rashford and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson to new long-term contracts.

The Red Devils announced the duo each signed a four-year contract through 2020 with an option for another year. Meanwhile, reports suggest Rashford will earn wages of £20,000-a-week before any and all performances bonus after his breakout end of the season, scoring eight goals in 17 appearances in all competitions. The 18-year-old scored his first international goal in his first senior appearance for the England national team. Meanwhile, Borthwick-Jackson was rewarded with a new deal after making 10 Premier League appearances in his first season.

Harry Arter and Robbie Keane have emerged as injury doubts for Euro 2016 after Martin O’Neill confirmed the pair picked up injuries over the weekend.

Bournemouth midfielder Arter was involved in Friday nights’ 1-1 draw with the Netherlands but was replaced after 83 minutes due to a muscular problem: "He came off with a thigh injury so we’ll get him a scan shortly and we’ll see what the doctor says," revealed the Republic of Ireland manager. Meanwhile, Keane [who was an unused substitute] picked up an injury on Saturday morning: "We did some training and he felt his calf just at the end so we’ll take it on a daily basis. He won’t play [against Belarus] as we won’t risk him [and] see how it goes." However, there was better news regarding James McCarthy who is improving daily following his injury on the final day of the season.

Didier Deschamps is not prepared to risk Anthony Martial in Monday nights’ penultimate European Championship warm-up match against Cameroon after the Manchester United attacker complained of muscular discomfort.

The French coach cited a long Premier League season confirming the 20-year-old "has pain in his thigh," caused by "muscular fatigue." There is no suggestion that Martial could miss out at Euro 2016 and his withdrawal from the squad is purely as a precaution having seen the likes of Raphael Varane and Jeremy Mathieu ruled out in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Mamadou Sakho is available once again after UEFA decided not to extend his 30-day anti-doping ban. However, after more than a month on the sidelines, Deschamps is unlikely to call upon the Liverpool defender who is lacking match fitness.

An injury to Real Madrid full-back Daniel Carvajal during the cup final win over Atletico Madrid could have opened the European Championship door for Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin.

Carvajal was forced off early in the second half of Saturdays' Champions League final in Milan and if further tests confirm the 24-year-old has suffered a calf strain [as suspected], then Bellerin will be heading to France. "It all depends on what the medical staff say about Carvajal's fitness," Del Bosque said at todays’ news conference. "Bellerin will stay with the squad until we know the extent of Carvajal's injury." Spain have until May 31 to confirm this summers’ European Championship squad, but Diego Costa and Santi Cazorla are already confirmed absentees due to their ongoing injury problems.

Kelvin Davis has finished his playing career but may stay with Southampton in a different role.

Davis has been an example player at Southampton, staying professional and contributing to the solid locker room the team has. The club have noticed and are willing to find a role for him even though he is done playing at age 39. Davis is obviously no longer a fantasy option.

Wanyama scored for Kenya in their friendly match against Tanzania.

Wanyama had a solid season for Southampton but he is not on penalty duty in the Premier League and his fantasy value remains extremely low. He is a better on-pitch performer than a fantasy contributor, and this doesn't seem likely to change going forward. Avoid him in standard leagues.
