On the back of the Ricardo Rodriguez rumor earlier comes links to two more World Cup left backs - Argentina's Marcos Rojo and Holland's Daley Blind.

What could be better than a Liverpool player with the last name Rojo? In addition to being a very good player the marketing strategy, especially for the Spanish-speaking market, almost writes itself. This isn't to say that Dutch right back Blind wouldn't be a big step up as well. If you're scoring at home (or even if you're by yourself - TM K.Olbermann) that's Alberto Moreno, Ricardo Rodriguez, Marcos Rojo, and Daley Blind linked to Liverpool this week. And it's only Tuesday morning. Stay tuned.

As Roberto Martinez enters his most challenging week yet as Everton manager, he might now have another player to replace as Tom Cleverley leaves the pitch on a stretcher…

The value of John Stones is seemingly increasing by the minute. Not just because Chelsea are intent on lurching from one drama to another – although that doesn’t hurt. But by another immaculate display, this time at the expense of last season’s great white hope Harry Kane. Yes, he was aided and abetted by Seamus Coleman, demonstrating that there is more than one Everton defender that big clubs will pay big money for. And Goalkeeper Tim Howard back to his athletic best. But the loss of Stones would be a crushing blow, no matter the number of zeros added to Everton’s end of year figures or who arrives in his place. Talking of new arrivals, the injury to Tom Cleverley should give an extended run in the team to Kevin Mirallas. But might also prompt the pursuit of another midfield player, in addition to striker Leonardo Rodriguez and defender Ramiro Funes Mori.

Crystal Palace continue to walk the walk, becoming only the second team to win at Chelsea in Jose Mourinho’s 100 matches at the Bridge…

Who’d have thunk it? Palace bosses Pardew and Parish spent the summer talking the talk – and, it should be said, backing it up with spending the cash. But we didn’t think they would be going to Chelsea and winning, did we? Of course, we didn’t think that Chelsea would start the season like a new-born giraffe. And no-one could’ve foreseen the descent of Branislav Ivanovic from FL manager’s ‘must have’ defender to weak link. Palace mercilessly targeted the right-back, basing 50% of their attacking play down their left. Bakary Sako dominated the poor Serb, setting up the winner for Joel Ward – that’s five goals and four assists in his last nine matches. And we perhaps shouldn’t be too surprised by the result. This is the Eagle’s seventh win from nine away trips since January. Won’t be their last either…

Tom Cleverley is set for an extended spell out after the 26 year-old was stretchered off just moments before the break at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

As the clock ticked towards half-time Cleverley made a lung bursting run towards the Tottenham box before a strong Eric Dier challenge halted his progress. The impact of the tackle - and subsequent follow through – caught the Everton midfielder who instantly signalled to the bench for assistance. The medical team were able to confirm at HT that Cleverley had suffered a "serious" ankle injury although the extent was still unknown. However post-match Roberto Martinez did provide an update "[we are a] little more positive now" as it only appears to be ligament damage which is "minor" in comparison. It could take up-to a week for a full diagnosis but Cleverley is expected to miss at least a month in the first instance.

Claudio Ranieri was quick to allay injury concerns after the Italian revealed post-match that Riyad Mahrez had been taken off as a precaution.

Mahrez has been in fine form – topping the PL goalscoring charts – but his afternoon was cut short at Dean Court after the Algerian was replaced by summer signing Shinji Okazaki at half-time. During the post-match media briefing Ranieri was able to confirm that Mahrez had been substituted as a "precaution" after taking a knock to the back from former Fox Max Gradel during the early exchanges. "We changed him because he took a kick very early in the game and after that, in the battle, he could not play at full speed. I wanted us to keep pressing forward, so we replaced him." Mahrez is expected to return in GW5.

Celtic Football Club have announced that they have secured the signing of Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett on loan for the 2015-16 season.

Celtic, out of the Champions League group stages after a play-off loss and facing the departure of Virgil van Dijk, have moved to secure their central defense with the signing of Blackett from the Red Devils. Blackett was a surprise when injuries forced him into the starting line-up at Old Trafford sooner than anyone would ever have expected. With United's fitness likely better this season, the move to Celtic Park to get first team opportunities makes sense for everyone involved.

Raheem Sterling got his first goal for Manchester City from a Bacary Sagna assist as the league leaders beat Watford 2-0 at the Etihad.

It was a frustrating first half as City attacked but couldn't get off the mark with Sterling going close and other chances just not coming together. The second half started much differently with Sagna and Sterling hooking up within 90 seconds of the restart for City's first goal. Fernandinho followed-up not long afterward with his second of the season from a David Silva assist.

Heurelho Gomes and the Watford defense made a valiant effort for the first half but couldn't keep the City attack at bay for the entire 90 minutes and capitulated at the Etihad in Week 4 action.

Gomes was called upon frequently in the first half as Watford parked the bus in an attempt to frustrate Manchester City. It worked for 45 minutes as the teams went into halftime scoreless but it didn't last as Manchester City came storming out almost immediately after the second half kick-off. Bacary Sagna's cross put Raheem Sterling in and Gomes had no chance to stop him for the opener in the 47th minute. Fernandinho crushed a drive past Gomes in the 56th minute and that was the end of the scoring as City cruised to a 2-0 victory.

Ibrahim Afellay was baited into a sending-off offense and Charlie Adam followed as Stoke City lost at home to former manager Tony Pulis at the Britannia.

The scenes were reminiscent of Tony Pulis' tenure at Stoke City which were always characterized by uncompromising play that occasionally crossed the line into sendings off. Pulis would not be impressed with the weak slap that saw Afellay sent off but might have been at least a little more appreciative of Charlie Adam's hard-nosed play that went over the line. What he was most appreciative of was getting to play 11-9 for much of the match on his homecoming and picking up three points.

Salomon Rondon scored and Stoke City had two men sent off as Tony Pulis led his Baggies to victory at his old Stoke City stomping grounds.

That the Baggies weren't more prolific given that they were two men up for a significant chunk of the first half and all of the second half is a bit disappointing. What will be less disappointing is leaving the Britannia with three points against Tony Pulis' former club. Rondon's strike was quality regardless of the number of Potters still on the pitch and the Baggies head toward the transfer deadline with a little momentum hoping that they will retain Saido Berahino in addition to picking up the win this week.

Liverpool played poorly on both sides of the ball and went down to ten men when Phillipe Coutinho was given a second yellow card as they lost to West Ham 0-3.

This is one the Reds will want to forget as quickly as possible. Poor defending led to the first two Hammer goals, as Martin Skrtel failed to clear a ball effectively and Dejan Lovren simply gave the ball away to put the Hammers up 0-2 within the opening half hour. Early in the second half, Coutinho made a rash sliding tackle of Mark Noble and his second booking saw him off. The attack, outside of a 30 yard strike of the woodwork by Roberto Firmino in the early going, was dormant all day. The Reds will have a fortnight to get things right but no Coutinho in Week 5 will certainly hurt.

Bakary Sako scored and assisted on the way to earning Crystal Palace three points at Stamford Bridge.

Palace were the better team today and deservedly won 2-1. This is another embarrassing result for Chelsea, who can't keep anyone out at the moment and aren't scoring enough to be winning games. Jose Mourinho will certainly be upset, and changes could be coming to Chelsea's starting lineup next week. Despite Chelsea's struggles, Palace should feel proud for the great result they got at one of the hardest places to win the Premier League.
