Arsenal legend Tony Adams has been active in the press recently including advice to Wayne Rooney that he wouldn't be able to handle a move to London.

Quite what Tony Adams knows about Rooney's ability to adapt to London is beyond me but he does know a thing or two about: 1) not being able to handle stardom in London and 2) not being very savvy about coming off well in the press. His recent statements on Rooney, Arsene Wenger, and Arsenal's board come off more like a faded star looking for attention than a respected former player providing sage advice. He may or may not be right about Rooney but he hardly seems like a credible source on the topic.

Sean Dyche has confirmed that Danny Ings will miss the visit of Sunderland on Saturday but the injury is not as bad as first feared.

The Clarets striker pulled up sharply during last weekend’s game at Selhurst Park but following a scan the news is a lot better than originally hoped although his hamstring injury could keep Danny Ings sidelined for around a month – Marvin Sordell is the man likely to be given his opportunity to shine. Question marks also remain over the availability of Matty Taylor who has been struggling with an ongoing Achilles problem - the injury has seen little improvement over the last few days – and George Boyd will continue to deputise following his recent move from Hull City.

In what was an interesting move by Jose Mourinho, Didier Drogba started Chelsea's 1-1 against Shalke in the Champions League.

The good news here is that Diego Costa came off the bench and all facts point to him starting against Manchester City this weekend. It's clear Jose Mourinho wants to win both the Premier League and Champions League and Costa being fresh for Manchester City is a great way to help your team. Diego Costa has the toughest matchup possible but he still remains a lethal choice for fantasy owners. Must start every week.

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has returned to training after a long absence due to an ACL tear last season.

This is a huge boost for Villa and they can certainly use a striker at the moment. Paul Lambert confirmed that Benteke has practiced and if there are no complications, he will continue practicing. The Belgian striker will not be an immediate option as he returns from injury but should be picked up in most year-long fantasy leagues. He is unusable in daily leagues until he plays at least 60 minutes in a match.

Shane Long has earned himself the starting job at Southampton in favor of James Ward-Prowse.

Long plays on the right side of Graziano Pelle and has performed respectably in recent weeks, almost scoring last time out against Newcastle. On the left of Pelle is Dusan Tadic, who has also played well and is unlikely to lose his spot. Long is not the greatest of options against Swansea this week but can certainly be used when Southampton face easier opposition.

Nigel Pearson is expected to welcome back Kasper Schmeichel and Matty James this weekend when the big guns of Manchester United roll into town.

Schmeichel missed last weekend’s trip to the Potters after picking up a knee injury while on international duty – his first domestic league absence since signing from Leeds United back in 2011 – but the goalkeeper is expected to return to action to face United although stand in Ben Hamer can feel a little aggrieved following his performance at The Britannia. Matty James – who played for the Under-21s on Monday – will be included after a return to training. The midfielder was unfortunate not to make the squad for Stoke after recovering from a shin injury with a place on the bench likely. However defender Zoumana Bakayogo is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a suspected anterior cruciate knee ligament injury.

Arsenals’ misery was compounded in Dortmond last night as Jack Wilshere suffered ANOTHER ankle injury but his absence could see Mesut Ozil revert back to his preferred central role.

The Gunners travelled to Germany on Tuesday for their opening UEFA Champions League fixture with a host of injury problems to contend with. Mathieu Debuchy, Nacho Monreal, Yaya Sanogo and Calum Chambers were all suffering from injury or ailment while Mathieu Flamini was not risked because of a tight groin. However it was the problem picked up by Jack Wilshere that will be at the forefront of Wengers’ thoughts with the Arsenal coach quite rightly "cautious" regarding the severity of the issue - the England international has suffered none fewer than 12 significant ankle injuries which have restricted his game time since 2011 - the player will be assessed ahead of the game on Saturday.

Adam Johnson opens his account four weeks into the season with a goal at home vs Tottenham.

Coming off an eight goal, six assists season in 2013 many expected Johnson to be the driving force behind Sunderland's attack. Unfortunately, up until this point, midfielders Sebastian Larsson, Jack Rodwell and Lee Cattermole have all been better - from a fantasy perspective at least. Hopefully his latest 15-point effort in Yahoo Fantasy's Premier League game will help get him going because at this point it's a little hard justifying his somewhat steep price tag.

QPR's defensive struggles continue and it doesn't look to be getting any easier as the season continues.

QPR conceded four goals for the second time in four weeks which puts their season total at nine goals. Steven Caulker has been on the field for all of them. With three games against the Top 4 (currently) over the next six weeks, and five of their next seven against Top 10 teams (currently), it'd be a stretch recommending anyone on this team at this point in time. Although, a Week 5 matchup at home vs Stoke could be worth a shot. Still, the 15 percent of owners invested in Caulker is way too high at this point, especially with the fifth-highest price point of any defender in the game.

Martin Demichelis tallied the first goal of the season for Manchester City's defensive unit against Arsenal this past weekend.

The defending champions have struggled with clean sheets in 2014. They started the year off with a 2-0 win at Newcastle, but since then have failed to record a shutout in their last three matches. With a tough home game vs Chelsea coming up in Week 5, and three of their next four versus Top 6 opponents (currently), a shutout at Hull in Week 6 looks like the best case scenario for a team that hasn't looked all that bad defensively.

Nacer Chadli's goal vs Sunderland gives the midfielder three goals in his last three matches and the goal-scoring lead among all players at Tottenham heading into a Week 5 matchup vs West Brom.

After missing out on the team's opening match at West Ham, Chadli has three goals in 227 minutes over the last three games. A pretty impressive accomplishment early on given the fact that he only had one goal in 1,452 total minutes all of last season. With 18 points this past week in Yahoo Fantasy's Premier League game, the midfielder now has 46 points on the season, five shy of the team's top player Eric Dier.

Julian Speroni helps Crystal Palace record their first clean sheet of the 2014-15 season.

Julian Speroni saved a penalty to secure a valuable point at home vs Burnley this past weekend. Other than that, Speroni hasn't had the best of luck to start the season. Prior to last week's game Palace had conceded eight goals in three games. However, a clean sheet in Week 4 could be just what the team needed to gain some confidence heading into a stretch of games in which they'll face just two Top 10 teams (currently) in their next six matches. Speroni will look to remain sharp against Everton in Week 5.
