Sunderland have released Carlos Cuellar, Oscar Ustari and Keiren Westwood at the end of their contracts, while it has also been agreed that defender Andrea Dossena will leave before the final year of his deal.

There is little surprise that Gus Poyet has allowed these four players to leave, as none of them were involved in the remarkable turnaround that saved Sunderland from relegation last season. The departures free up some space to allow the Black Cats' manager to reshape the squad.

Liverpool beat writer James Pearce has repored via Twitter that Mario Balotelli has been ruled out of the Reds match against Stoke City tomorrow.

The news did not offer any information regarding when the enigmatic striker will be expected back, but when you have a limited character restriction on twitter, the lack of detail is understandable. Balotelli has flopped during his chance to lead the line in Daniel Sturridge's absence. Ricky Lambert is next in the pecking order and is a certain lock for Brendan Rodger's XI tomorrow and is available for a budget cost in most fantasy games. With Balotelli nowhere near the pitch tomorrow and a visit from a Potters side that seem to concede within the opening 10 minutes every week, Lambert is a fair shout to score a goal, despite how unappealing the Reds attack has been lately.

Hull City are confident Senegalese midfielder Mo Diame will be available for selection when the Tigers travel to Old Trafford after a scan this week confirmed the player suffered no significant damage in a training ground injury last weekend.

Diame returned from international duty unscathed and his absence against Tottenham was thought to be due to fatigue following his late return after Africa Cup of Nations duty but Steve Bruce confirmed post-match that the midfielder had a problem with the tendon in his knee which required a scan. The news of his potential return is a major boost for Hull who have only won once since their opening day victory over Queens Park Rangers and hover precariously above the relegation zone. Hatem Ben Arfa will once again be pushing for a start while Bruce has a decision to make as Gaston Ramirez is suspended – Stephen Quinn will battle it out with Abel Hernandez for a place in the eleven.

Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed Sandro will be out until early 2015 but admits the prognosis could’ve been a lot worse and the player is "lucky" his knee ligament damage was not worse.

Sandro collided with team-mate Yun Suk-Young early during the second half loss to Newcastle last weekend and the club feared the worse for the player who has been blighted by injury over the past 18 months. However a scan earlier this week confirmed the extent damage was only to the medial ligament and not the anterior cruciate as feared. His absence could pave the way for Jordon Mutch to return to the starting eleven having recovered from a recent hamstring problem – Rio Ferdinand is available again following his three game suspension while Adel Taarabt is still "way off fitness."

Kyle Bartley has been the center back of choice to fill in for the injured Federico Fernandez and looks a solid play now that Swansea City is entering a run of easier opponents.

Bartley would have been afforded more fantasy attention when he began deputizing two matches ago, but with Arsenal and Manchester City as opponents, investment in the Swans defense was never in the discussion. Starting this week facing Crystal Palace at home however, it is time to take advantage of the young budget defender.

Massadio Haidara has been solid contributor for Newcastle United as Alan Pardew has managed to do well with a stretched defensive unit.

Haidara has occupied the left back position for the past two matches while Paul Dummett has shifted to a center back role and even with defensive captain Fabricio Coloccini absent from the back line, the Magpies have managed to get the job done. Haidara actually outscored all other Newcastle defenders last week despite being available for a fraction of the cost in the Yahoo game. He is worth stashing and playing if you got him on the cheap, and is worth a play in plus matchups until the defense gets healthier and Pardew has to make some decisions.

Jordan Henderson was amongst the goals in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Bulgarian side Ludogorets, marking his return to fitness and a potential fantasy option against Stoke.

The cat has been out of the bag for a while now when it comes to investing in Liverpool these days, whether in attack or defense, but Henderson should creep onto radars as the Reds host a horrendous Stoke defense this weekend. At under 8m in the Yahoo game, he won't cost you as much as their other attacking options and if the Reds find a way to disappoint again, at least you aren't paying a premium in the process.

Ross Barkley is over a month into his return back from injury that caused him to miss the season's opening seven matches and is still looking for his first goal of the campaign.

One would think it is only a matter of time before Barkley begins to impress with more fantasy production and Everton need it from him now more than ever as they have a rash of injuries throughout the squad. His poor output in the Yahoo game has seen his price dip below the 7m mark, so while his lack of form may keep him from our Week 13 thinking, as soon as he awakens, there is a chance you can grab him on the cheap. He has shown us he can be worth holding onto when he gets going.

Yaya Sanogo scored his first Arsenal goal against Dortmund early but went off with an apparent hamstring injury in the late going. He is currently being assessed.

Things at the forward position are getting desperate at Arsenal. Olivier Giroud wasn't yet fit enough to be in the squad for the Wednesday match. Danny Welbeck is now dealing with a knee injury that is still being evaluated. Theo Walcott is still finding his way back to fitness. On top of all that, Yaya Sanogo limped off against Dortmund with a hamstring injury. Might Lukas Podolski actually get a start against West Brom on Saturday? Tune in to Arsenal's Team News on Friday to find out.

Emiliano Martinez kept a clean sheet and picked up a massive win for Arsenal in their bid to make it through to the knock out stage of the Champions League.

Martinez didn't really have too much to do until a nice save in stoppage time but with Arsenal down to their third choice keeper they will be feeling good about their ability to pick up points while Szczesny and Ospina are on the mend. The 22-year-old Argentine may get a few more starts before Szczesny returns so fantasy managers should at least take a look since he will likely be available and cheap regardless of format.
Nov 26 - 4:35 PM

Laurent Koscielny must be ahead of schedule in his recovery because Arsene Wenger has deemed him fit enough for a place on the bench against Borussia Dortmund in Wednesday's Champions League tie at the Emirates.

It was only a few days ago that Arsene Wenger declared Koscielny three weeks away from full group training. Apparently the schedule has moved up because he has been passed fit enough for a potential substitute role in a key Champions League match against group leaders Dortmund. It seems unlikely that Wenger will use the France international unless times are desperate but the way things are going at Arsenal, desperate isn't out of the question.
Nov 26 - 3:24 PM

Craig Dawson, Andre Wisdom and Craig Gardner were the best of a mediocre lot for West Brom in Week 12 as they went down a man and capitulated to league leading Chelsea.

Eight fantasy points in the Yahoo format is nothing to write home about but when playing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, it isn't bad. It was also the best of a mediocre lot given that the Baggies didn't score, were a man down and conceded two. Andre Wisdom joined Craig Dawson at eight fantasy points and Craig Gardner, coming off of a suspension, was just behind them at seven points on the day. Odd to be saying this but things should get better this weekend with Arsenal coming to the Hawthorns for a visit.
