As expected, Arsenal unveiled both their new Puma kits and highly anticipated new signing Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates today.

Let us count the ways that this improves the situation at the Emirates. First, he's a great player and a confirmation that Mesut Ozil wasn't a one-off top tier signing for Arsenal. Secondly, he fills multiple needs in his ability to play as a central forward instead of Olivier Giroud (offering a different set of issues for a defense) or as a compliment to Giroud in place of either Lukas Podolski (who hasn't been as effective as hoped) or Theo Walcott (who is frequently injured). Beyond his direct impact, Sanchez won't be going to Liverpool which hurts a rival. Finally, a bunch of money will be going to Barcelona that will, presumably, go to funding the purchase of Luis Suarez which further hurts one of Arsenal's rivals. Could it get any better for the Gunners? (OK, maybe if Mathieu Debuchy and Sami Khedira join Sanchez it gets better)

A groin problem threatens to sideline Tom Cleverley as injuries begin to mount at Villa although the timely return of Joe Cole [hamstring] could provide the perfect tonic as Tim Sherwood insists the attacking midfielder still has something to offer during the season run-in.

Cole was injured as Sherwood came on-board back in February and hasn’t featured since but now that the player is approaching full fitness the new Villa boss feels the former England international can still affect games "He can score and he can assist." Regardless of whether Cleverley recovers prior to GW31 the Manchester United loanee won’t be eligible for the trip to Old Trafford under the terms of his agreement which could hand Cole his chance. With no fewer than [11] players currently sidelined Villa will be hoping the international break will be kind with Christian Benteke, Jores Okore, Alan Hutton, Ciaran Clark, Fabian Delph and Carles Gil all currently representing their countries.

Jack Colback's suspension and subsequent two quiet games has seen his fantasy price steadily decline in recent weeks to a very appealing figure.

After a disappointing two point return against Arsenal, Colback has seen his price drop to 7.76m in the Yahoo game, representing solid value at the midfield position. Unlike other players who have been similarly underpriced; Dusan Tadic, Nacer Chadli and Seb Larsson, it doesn't require traditional attacking points for Colback to put up nice scores. Whether the past two games are an anomaly or a sign of a dip in form will require another week or two to determine, but if he returns to the level of production he was offering most of the season, then investors will be rewarded without spending very much.

Wayne Routledge isn't making his name on the score sheet often for Swansea City but he has been a steady contributor for them recently.

Averaging 7.5 points per game for the past couple of weeks is not going to get his name on the leaderboard but it is a decent number when one considers it comes without the aid of a goal or an assist. He is well behind Bafetimbi Gomis and Gylfi Sigurdsson as a scoring threat but he is due to add one to his resume soon. A home match against Hull next up may provide the right environment. For under 7m in Yahoo, he is another budget midfielder to consider in Week 31.

Steven Gerrard's inexplicable red card and resulting ban should give Joe Allen a few more starts, with Lucas a potential option as well now that he is fit.

When Brendan Rodgers has no injuries or suspensions to deal with, he would have a weekly selection dilemma with four seasoned PL players battling it out for two positions in central midfield. However, things have worked out where he rarely has all four available. One spot is certainly locked up now and perhaps for seasons to come by Jordan Henderson. With Gerrard suspended for the next three and leaving Anfield at season's end, the other spot is down to Allen and Lucas with the former having the slight edge at the moment. Neither are appealing in fantasy however.

Seamus Coleman scored a crucial goal to help Everton to a win over QPR last weekend and he appears to be a better pick than Leighton Baines in fantasy at the moment.

It has been a while since we have seen the attacking exploits of Coleman, something that had been commonplace in the previous two seasons, but the tough reality is that it has been a while since Baines has been a fantasy stud either. To be fair to the left back, he is still the third-highest scoring defender in Yahoo this season, but unlike in previous seasons, he isn't creating much distance between himself and several defenders who are priced millions less. Just this past week Coleman outscored his teammate 13 to 4, yet Baines got the bigger rise in price even though both have the same ownership percentage. All it takes is for one penalty to set Baines up for a monster day, but week to week, Coleman is matching him on a points per pound basis. With his attacking form emerging, that should only tip the scales in Coleman's favor.

Danny Rose became the latest England international to withdraw from the upcoming games with Lithuania and Italy after picking up an unspecified injury in training.

Rose was a late addition to the England squad - replacing Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw [hamstring] - but the FA confirmed on Wednesday that the defender had returned to Tottenham for treatment following a problem during todays' session. With no additional call-ups at the time of writing Leighton Baines looks certain to start in both games although Ryan Bertrand would be an obvious choice should Roy Hodgson decide to bring in a replacement. Rose is one of five withdrawals already this week joining Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge and Fraser Forster while Fabian Delph has been struggling with illness and Raheem Sterling is managing a toe complaint.

Southampton have confirmed Fraser Forster has undergone knee surgery which will rule the goalkeeper out for the remainder of the season although the club have been reluctant to put a time-frame on his return to action.

Forster slipped and collided with Sam Vokes’ on Saturday while carrying out a routine clearance and after leaving the pitch on a stretcher the Saints stopper was assessed and taken to hospital for further tests. A scan revealed the extent of the damage – believed to be a ruptured patellar tendon – and Forster went under the knife to rectify the problem. Recovery from this type of injury can take up-to a year [typically 9-12 months] but Southampton will assess his progress during the summer. Forster became the second England goalkeeper within a week to have an operation after West Brom confirmed Ben Foster would miss around 6-9 months because of a ruptured ACL. 38 year-old Kelvin Davis will deputise for the Saints during the season run-in.

England U-20 forward Chuba Akpom is set for a loan move to Nottingham Forrest for the balance of the season.

With multiple teams in the Championship chasing Akpom for the run-in, Arsene Wenger has decided that Forrest are the best place for Akpom to continue his development. The logic may be that Forrest, under FFP sanctions, likely have more playing time available than some of the other clubs that were interested in Akpom's services. Regardless of the reasons, one thing is clear and that is that Akpom wasn't likely to get much playing time with the Arsenal first team now that the collective health of the group has improved. Regular playing time for Nottingham Forrest should be a great way for the player to grow as he starts in on the new four-and-a-half year deal he signed with Arsenal in January.

Despite Sunderland's struggles Patrick van Aanholt is still returning solid fantasy points in the Yahoo format.

Van Aanholt may be playing for a struggling team but he's doing his best to keep fantasy managers happy. Returns of 5, 7, 8 and 11 points over the past few game-weeks suggest a return to form, with attacking contributions making up for the lack of clean sheets achieved by the Black Cats. The defender lost his place in the starting XI towards the end of Gus Poyet's reign but should be certain of regular start under fellow Dutchman Dick Advocaat and is a genuine option in the Yahoo format if you have some spare cash in the bank.

Player availability problems are beginning to mount at Liverpool with the news that Martin Skrtel has failed in his attempt to overturn a violent conduct charge by the FA landing the defender with an automatic three-match suspension.

However the Slovakian international may yet face a further charge from the Football Association [and possible extension] following a social media post insinuating the decision was made by a bunch of clowns. With a crucial game against Arsenal at the Emirates in GW31 Liverpool will be sweating on a number of key players following their withdrawal from international duty this week. Daniel Sturridge [hip] and Adam Lallana [groin] are thought to be major doubts while Dejan Lovren [abdominal], Jordon Ibe [knee] and Simon Mignolet [ankle] are all struggling. Raheem Sterling is carrying a toe problem but should be okay however captain Steven Gerrard is unavailable following his sending off for a stamp on Ander Herrera.

Christian Eriksen's fine fantasy form has shown a clear decline over the past six weeks.

It wasn't so long ago that Eriksen was THE Spurs player to have in your fantasy team - even over Harry Kane - with the midfielder consistently popping up with winning goals and racking up points from shots on target, assists and successful crosses. However, the long season appears to have taken it's toll on the Danish star as he has failed to record double digit fantasy returns since Week 23 (with the exception of the double week) and it is clear to the naked eye that he is simply not playing with quite the same energy. Considering his price is still up around the £13million mark in the Yahoo game we would suggest you avoid picking Eriksen for now, at least until there are signs of a revival of freshness and form.
