Crystal Palace kicked off their pre-season campaign with a stunning 13-1 victory against GAK Graz in Austria on Wednesday evening.

Not a bad start to pre-season for the Eagles. GAK Graz are a part-time side working their way up the Austrian football pyramid, but this is still an impressive result. Stephen Dobbie scored four goals, with Glenn Murray, Joe Ledley and Jonny Williams grabbing a brace each. Yannick Bolasie, Jerome Thomas and Marouane Chamakh were also on target for the visitors. Murray's display will be the most pleasing to Tony Pulis, and with a full pre-season behind him the striker will be looking to have a proper crack at the Premier League after a cruciate knee injury ruled him out for the majority of the last campaign.

Newcastle United were able to avoid relegation on the final day of the season with a 2-0 win over West Ham United.

It was a nervy atmosphere at St. James' Park as expected, and though the Magpies showed themselves better in the opening half of the match than they had in quite a long time, anxiety continued to grow around the stadium as they went into the locker room at halftime with the game still 0-0. The breakthrough came in the 54th minute, when Jonas Gutierrez sent a cross toward the Hammers' far post and found Moussa Sissoko, who headed it in strongly. The job was not finished though, as a second goal was needed to truly feel safe and it came courtesy of Gutierrez who sent a strike that was helped by a deflection into the net for his first goal in over two years. Newcastle ended February looking like they would only need one more positive result to avoid relegation. Though there is plenty of issues with the club, they can rest easy now that they got the job done in time.

Loic Remy scored twice to give Chelsea one last win in the Premier League this season, this time a 3-1 win over Sunderland.

The Blues finish the season with 87 points and an eight point lead on Manchester City but it could have easily been more if they didn't get complacent in the last couple of weeks. Loic Remy showed he possesses the quality needed at the top level as he's done all season when filling in for the injured Diego Costa. Costa also scored today and the Chelsea striker force goes into next season healthy and in form. The Blues are already the favorites for the title next season and Costa and Remy will be big part of their run.

Tottenham qualified for the group stage of the Europa League after finishing fifth in the Premier League with a confident win at Everton.

Spurs have been lacklustre over the past two months, but this was an assured performance and a deserved victory over a disappointing Everton side. Kane scored his 31st goal of the season, equalling a Premier League club record, after he headed in Eric Dier's first-half cross. The Toffees offered little, with Seamus Coleman's angled effort the closest they came to equalising. Spurs end the season in a respectable 5th position in Mauricio Pochettino's first campaign in charge and go in to next season's Europa League proper, while Roberto Martinez will reflect on a poor year, ending in 11th.

Frank Lampard scored for Manchester City in his final Premier League appearance as Southampton missed out on a top-six finish, losing 2-0.

Classic Lampard. The veteran finished the season as he's spent his career - scoring goals. The 35-year old, who is set to play for New York City FC in the USA, side-footed home from 10 yards to give the hosts a first-half lead. Sergio Aguero doubled that advantage with a close-range header into an empty net, having seen three earlier efforts saved by Kelvin Davis. Victory for City saw them consolidate second place in the table, ending the season eight points behind champions Chelsea. Ronald Koeman's Saints must now hope Arsenal can defeat Aston Villa in next weekend's FA Cup final to help them earn a place in next season's Europa League.

Petr Cech played his last match for Chelsea as the Blues lifted the title in the last match of the season.

Cech is heavily rumored to be leaving the Blues this summer in search of playing time and this will likely end up being his last match in a Chelsea jersey. If he ends up at another Premier League team, Cech will be a fantastic Premier League option next season as he has shown this year that he is still in top form. At Chelsea, it will be Thibaut Courtois who is the future between the posts and he will be the top fantasy goalkeeper choice for years to come.

Crystal Palace ended their season on a winning note, as a goal by Marouane Chamakh would make the difference in a 1-0 win over Swansea City.

It was rather even between the two sides in most statistical categories like possession and chances, but it was Palace who were able to break through for the game's lone goal. It came in the 57th minute when Jason Puncheon sent a free kick into the box, Scott Dann headed it across the face of goal, and Chamakh was able to control it with his chest and smash it home. Swansea didn't have a strong midfield and it made it easy on the Eagles defense. After a four game losing streak that ended earlier in the month, Palace finish strong (10th place) with wins over Liverpool and Swansea.

Kyle Naughton returned from injury in time to start the final game of the season for Swansea City, but the result was not as hoped as they fell to Crystal Palace, 1-0.

While Naughton's return was a pleasant surprise, Swansea were hampered by the absence of three key players in their midfield: Gylfi Sigurdsson, Jonj Shelvey and Ki Sung-Yueng, all instrumental in one game or another throughout the season, did not make the squad. Hence, while they did well to play an even possession battle with Palace, their chances in the final third lacked that creativity or extra pass that could provide a better shot at beating the Eagles keeper. Though the Swans drop their final two games, the first season under former player/now manager Garry Monk has to be viewed as a solid one.

Mame Biram Diouf bagged a brace and four other Potters would score as Stoke City would demolish Liverpool in record-breaking fashion with a 6-1 win.

Diouf opened the scoring on the day with a goal in the 22nd minute and it must have taken the wind completely out of the sails of the Liverpool defense, as the Potters would go on to score five of their six goals in the opening half, the most ever conceded after 45 minutes by any Liverpool team in their Premier League history. Diouf made it two goals just four minutes after his first, then goals would follow by Jon Walters, Charlie Adam and Steven N'Zonzi respectively before the halftime whistle blew. After giving one up in the second half, they would add one more themselves in the 86th minute, with a goal by substitute Peter Crouch. Stoke finished what was a steady season without too many bumps quite strongly.

Alex Bruce, Steve Bruce and the entire Bruce family have been relegated after a final day draw with Manchester United.

Hull City needed a win and a Newcastle draw to stay up. Instead they got a draw and a Newcastle win meaning they will be relegated. Hull City supporters will be frustrated that they couldn't even manage a goal in their effort to stay up...even after Marouane Fellaini was sent off in the 77th minute.

Gareth McAuley scored a consolation goal as West Brom lost to Arsenal 4-1 at the Emirates on the final day of the season.

It didn't mean much to either side but only West Brom played like it. Arsenal, powered by returning stars Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott, scored four in the first half to end the tie. McAuley scored a consolation goal to keep it from being too embarrassing in the end.

West Ham have announced that they will not renew Sam Allardyce's contract as manager of the club.

Allardyce was given an ultimatum at the beginning of the season to finish 10th or not be given another chance and the owners have kept their word. Allardyce did a respectable job, finishing 12th despite a number of long-term injuries to his top players, but it wasn't enough for management and he will not be in London next season. Allardyce should will be able to find a job in a timely manner.
