Reports have surfaced about Didier Drogba striking a one-year deal with his former club, Chelsea.

Chelsea were after the star striker last summer but couldn't land a deal. Drogba is now a free-agent after his contract with Galatasaray has expired. We envision the Ivory Coast international to take on a role similar to the one he played in the World Cup this summer. Drogba is likely to come off a bench when Chelsea need a goal and provide a target man for long balls and crosses. The arrival is worry-some for Fernando Torres, whose playing time might decrease even more with Drogba in town.

Jurgen Klopp is about to execute his first summer signing as Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius has come to England for a medical ahead of a move to Liverpool.

The 22-year-old Karius is coming off a very successful season with Mainz and was voted in a poll as the second best keeper in the Bundesliga behind German international fixture Manuel Neuer. He once was a product of Manchester City's youth academy before returning to play in his homeland. Karius looks to be the eventual starter for Klopp's future plans and will provide serious competition for Simon Mignolet when the club reconvenes for preseason. His transfer fee is thought to be around £4.7m.

The worst kept secret in football has become official as Manchester United have relieved Louis Van Gaal of his duties as manager of the club.

Presumably there will be a short waiting period followed by the official announcement of Jose Mourinho as Van Gaal's successor.

Sam Allardyce is not holding back in the search to bolster the Sunderland attack with Bafetimbi Gomis and Andre Ayew leading a list of targets.

Swansea City would reportedly consider selling its leading goalscorer if the right offer came in, and Sunderland came close to sealing a winter move for the Ghanaian, who arrived on a free transfer from Marseille in the summer. Meanwhile, Allardyce won't stop at just Ayew's 12 Premier League goals. The Black Cats are reportedly looking at Bafetimbi Gomis as another potential option with Allardyce keen to move for the French attacker, who started the season with a goal in the first four matches.

Spurs forward Heung-Min Son confirmed he has no interest in leaving the club despite rumors linking him with a summer exit.

Said the South Korean: "I haven't heard anything from the club regarding those transfer rumours. I'm sure my club will take care of this, and I think there is nothing special for me to be worried about. My first season in the Premier League didn't meet my expectations, but I had a good experience. For my first season, I played with the thought that I should learn many things here." Son joined Tottenham toward the end of the summer transfer window from Bayer Leverkusen, scoring four goals in 26 league appearances in his first Premier League season.

Add Sadio Mane to the list of players potentially moving to Jose Mourinho's Manchester United now that his appointment seems inevitable.

Mane was linked to Arsenal over the weekend but now comes news that Manchester United will go in hard for the Southampton winger. His defensive effort doesn't exactly scream Mourinho Guy and he plays in a position, left attacker, where United have a lot invested in Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial over the past year. Perhaps, Martial will move to center forward and Depay will be marginalized after a poor first season leaving an opening but that still doesn't make Mane a diligent defender. This one looks questionable.

Everton defender John Stones has been linked to Old Trafford with the England international joining as part of the much anticipated Mourinho revolution.

John Stones has been rumored to be heading to a big club for a season and a half if not longer. When Jose Mourinho was at Chelsea, the Blues appeared to be close to making that a reality during last summer's window. It didn't happen which means that Mourinho might get another crack at recruiting the center back at Manchester United. United certainly need an upgrade over Daley Blind at the center of defense so whether it is Stones or someone else, this doesn't seem to be an unreasonable rumor.

Marcus Rashford is expected to be fine for England despite being forced off during Saturdays’ FA Cup final victory over Crystal Palace.

Rashford was initially caught by Wilfried Zaha in the second half at Wembley before Yohan Cabaye finished the job on 72 minutes with a tackle which left the youngster requiring treatment on his knee before finally limping off. Former United manager Louis van Gaal revealed post-match: "We have to wait to see how bad the injury is," but Rashford will still join up with his England teammates today. "We believe that it is not a serious injury but he took a nasty knock and we will have to wait to see," said Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson. If fit, the 18-year-old could win his first full international cap, with Jamie Vardy absent from the squad due to his wedding, which will take place two days before Fridays’ game against Australia.

Marc Wilson will not feature at this summers’ European Championships after suffering another setback.

Martin O’Neill confirmed today that the Stoke defender had been cut from the Republic of Ireland squad after losing his battle to recover from damaged knee ligaments. Wilson hasn’t played competitively since picking up the injury at Crystal Palace back in January, and despite early optimism, the 28-year-old will not be ready. Initial concerns arose after Wilson suffered a setback during a behind-closed-doors friendly last month, however, the Stoke defender was still expected to be available, even after Mark Hughes ruled Wilson out for the remainder of the domestic campaign due to worries over his fitness. But today, Martin O’Neill confirmed that Wilson was one of four players to be released from the squad following another setback: "The best thing for him is to take 4 or 5 weeks off."

DeAndre Yedlin started for the US on Sunday and went the full 90 minutes as the Stars and Stripes beat Puerto Rico in their first ever match against each other.

The US is tuning up for the Copa America Centenario starting in a little over a week with the first of three friendlies. Yedlin, who came on strong over the second half of the season on loan with Sunderland, looks like he will be the starting right back for the US going into the championship of the Americas on US soil this summer. His physical tools have never been in doubt but he is starting to display better awareness and tactical sense. He's probably not going to pass Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier on the Spurs depth chart but he could position himself well for either a sale or a loan higher up the table. His Copa America performance will go a long way in determining where, and how much, he plays next season.

Jamie Vardy scored in the 83rd minute to give England a 2-1 victory over Turkey as the Three Lions prepare for the upcoming European Championships.

It was Harry Kane that made the headlines early with a 3rd minute goal and a missed penalty with the score 1-1. The opener appeared to be fairly obviously scored from an offside position but the referee was silent and the goal from a Dele Alli pass was allowed to stand. England allowed the visitors back in the match shortly after the goal with Hakan Calhanoglu scoring in the 13th minute. That left it to Vardy to settle the affair late and he made no mistake when the Turkish defense bumbled.

With his career at Arsenal stalled, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could look for a move to Leicester City this summer.

Something about the Arsenal experience hasn't agreed with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Whether it is physical frailty on his part or something in how Arsenal train, he has been injury prone. His game also hasn't progressed as hoped. Could a move to Leicester City be the tonic for what ails him? It doesn't feel like the sort of move that led to the Foxes' success but he could be an undervalued asset if a different approach gets him closer to his potential.
