Watford coach Javi Gracia admitted he is unsure how long Gerard Deulofeu will be sidelined after limping off against Everton.

Deulofeu had a couple of decent years on Merseyside after Roberto Martinez decided to splash €6 million on the speedy winger. However, he struggled under new boss Ronald Koeman and Deulofeu was shipped out on-loan to AC Milan where he did impress, so much so that Barcelona activated a buy-back clause. However, having failed to nail down a regular starting berth, Watford picked him up in January on a six-month deal. He hit the ground running, of particular note was an outstanding performance in the 4-1 demolition of Chelsea [GW26]. But, despite the pre-match hype, he was unable to deliver against his former employers before his night came to an abrupt end. Deulofeu landed awkwardly - rolling his ankle - following a shoulder charge with Everton forward Cenk Tosun which forced him off on 63 minutes. "I don't know what happened. He's feeling pain in his right foot and we'll have to see," Gracia said after the game.

Fernandinho has emerged as an early doubt for the Premier League clash with Arsenal after limping off in the Carabao Cup final.

The Brazilian midfielder was replaced before the hour mark at Wembley clutching his left hamstring and Guardiola fears Fernandinho is set for a spell on the sidelines. "The next games I think he will be out. We will see on Monday the extent of the injury but it’s a big, big loss for us." City travel to The Emirates on Thursday before welcoming Chelsea to The Etihad three days later, games which are likely to come too soon for the 32-year-old. Only Kevin de Bruyne and Nicolas Otamendi [outfield] have played more minutes than Fernandinho [2255] in the Premier League and he has started all but one game [vs West Ham in December]. That day, Pep opted for Fabian Delph in the holding role, but due to his suspension, the City boss will be forced to look at other options. One of those could be Danilo with Aymeric Laporte coming in at left-back.

Manchester United took a massive leap towards securing second place with a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Chelsea took the lead through in-form Brazilian attacker Willian, who started and ended a good counter-attack by smashing the ball beyond David de Gea. That lead didn't last long though as United drew level through Romelu Lukaku, putting a dent in his reputation for failing to score in big games. He got ahead of Marcos Alonso to pick up Martial's pass to convert. Lukaka almost scored an audacious volley to grab the lead for United but Courtois tipped it away. However a cross from the Belgian striker with a quarter of an hour to go was met by Lingard, who headed past Courtois to complete United's comeback and win the tie. United are back in second and the pressure is back on Antonio Conte again to ensure Chelsea qualify for the Champions League next season.

Manchester City allowed Pep Guardiola to lift his first trophy as manager when they cruised to a 3-0 Carabao Cup final win over Arsenal on Sunday.

It is hardly the most prestigious trophy that Pep Guardiola has ever won but it is important in that it is his first as leader of the next stage of Manchester City's assault on European football. City dominated possession but didn't create a great deal on target. What they lacked in volume they more than made up for in precision as their only three shots on target found the back of the Arsenal net. After Sergio Aguero scored the opener it was never too much in doubt even though Vincent Kompany didn't add the second until the second half. Look for City to add at least the Premier League trophy to the League Cup and at least give the Champions League a serious run.

Despite a defensive approach and the return of key man Manuel Lanzini, West Ham were beaten 4-1 by Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

West Ham set up in a 5-4-1 with Pablo Zabaleta and debutante Patrice Evra deployed on the flanks, while Javier Hernandez was dropped to the bench with Marko Arnautovic preferred up front. However, the changes were not enough to stunt Liverpool's attack. Arnautovic was forced a pair of acrobatic saves from Lorius Karius in the first-half, creating both chances due to a lack of service. Down 1-0 after the restart, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino scored inside six minutes to triple the deficit. Michail Antonio replaced Lanzini in after 58 minutes and scored a minute later, but the Reds responded through Sadio Mane. The defeat sees West Ham slide to 13th, now just three points above the drop zone.

Watford secured a massive three points thanks to a late Troy Deeney goal in a 1-0 win over Everton at home.

The Hornets have now secured two straight home wins against top-10 teams, following up that shock 4-1 win against Chelsea with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Everton. Watford looked the better side from the start, holding the Toffees to only one shot on target in the entire match. The Hornets finally broke through in the 79th minute when Troy Deeney, who looked set to be taken off at any moment, took a pass from Stefano Okaka and hit it past a diving Jordan Pickford with power for his first goal from open play and the winner, which moves the Hornets into 10th place on 33 points.

However, the match shifted in favor of Huddersfield shortly after the interval. Ravij Van la Parra scored in the 48th and Steve Mounie in the 56th to put the visitors ahead 2-0. Sam Allardyce has turned around much of Everton's early misfortunes, but he still can't figure out how to win away from home.

The road has not been kind to the Toffees, who have only one win in 14 away Premier League matches this season (and 22 in all competitions, and that only continued at Vicarage Road for Allardyce's club. Jordan Pickford kept Everton in the game with four saves on the afternoon, but the side could only manage one shot on goal. After conceding a goal to Troy Deeney in the 79th minute, Pickford nearly added some more heroics when, in a last-ditch effort in the final moments of the match, headed a corner goalbound into a scramble before being collected by Orestis Karnezis to seal the match in Watford's favor at 1-0.
