Amid rumors that he might leave Everton this summer, young center back John Stones has penned a five year extension with the Goodison Park club.

Whether this extension means that the player will stay at Goodison Park for the long term remains to be seen. What is certain is that he is highly likely to stay for this season and if he does leave Everton will be able to charge a higher transfer fee. Either way, this is a strong move for the club as they secure the value of one of their young, upcoming players.

Everton caretaker manager David Unsworth confirmed that defender Phil Jagielka is back in the mix this weekend.

The veteran defender has often been rested in the club's Europa League matches this season, as he was on Thursday as the Toffees took a beating from Atalanta. However, defender Mason Holgate looks set to miss out as he shakes off a groin injury. The club will already be without Tom Davies and Oumar Niasse due to suspension. Said Unsworth: "Phil, Mason and Morgan have all trained the last couple of days. For Mason, it’s probably a little too early for him, but Morgan and Phil should be fine. We’ll have one more training session and see how they come through that but hopefully all will be okay.

West Ham overcame an early deficit to draw 1-1 with Leicester City at home on Friday night.

West Ham conceded after eight minutes but responded as the match went on and found the equalizer just before the break, with Cheikhou Kouyaté nodding Manuel Lanzini’s corner in off the shoulder of Danny Simpson. The Hammers looked the better side following the restart, controlling the majority of possession and finding success playing through Masuaku on the right wing. While the effort was much improved from the defeat at Watford, David Moyes and his side would have to settle for a share of the points. The result sees West Ham remain in 18th place, now even on 10 points with West Brom but behind on goal difference. Meanwhile, there will be concern over the health of Marko Arnautovic who limped off in the 69th minute after suffering a knee knock.

Pep Guardiola confirmed that Manchester City has a mostly clean bill of health ahead of the busy week.

Minus Benjamin Mendy's long-term knee problem and a recent injury to John Stones, Manchester City will have a full squad for its trip to Huddersfield Town tomorrow, which starts a seven-day period featuring three Premier Leagues—so expect lots of rotation, especially from a Guardiola side full of attacking options. Even Vincent Kompany has remained healthy this month, coming through a start last weekend. Said the manager in his pre-match press conference: "Nothing. Everybody is okay. Yesterday was a day off. Today, I want to see how everyone is. Vincent is ready to play."

Leicester City started strong but couldn't hold off West Ham and had to settle for a 1-1 draw at the the London Stadium on Friday.

Leicester took the lead inside 10 minutes when Jamie Vardy burst through, down the left flank and picked out Marc Albrighton, who slotted home his first Premier League goal of the season. The Foxes were comfortable sitting back absorbing pressure from the hosts with the lead, yet Danny Simpson was unable to clear a Kouyaté header off the line on the stroke of half-time. The second half featured few chances and saw Leicester limited in possession, with a speculative strike from Demarai Gray their only real attempt towards goal. The result sees the Foxes move up to 11th place, even on points and goal difference with Newcastle.

Marko Arnautovic has been given the all clear ahead of Friday's match with Leicester City after suffering a wrist injury during last weekend's defeat at Watford.

Arnautovic was substituted in the second half of last weekend's match with Watford, but manager David Moyes has revealed the knock was not as serious as initially feared and the No.7 will be fit to face the Foxes. "It was badly swollen – it was a bit like a boxer’s hand when we saw it the next day," said Moyes. "But he’s fine. He has trained with a good plaster on it. He’s okay." Andre Ayew, who missed Moyes's first match due to illness, will also be available for Friday's match. With Chicharito and Michail Antonio both ruled out, Arnautovic and Ayew could make the starting XI. Andy Carroll, who started against Watford, is another option upfront, while Diafra Sakho could see minutes off the bench.

Victor Moses is set to make his return from injury when Chelsea travel to Liverpool on Saturday.

The Nigeria international has not featured since suffering a hamstring injury in October, but manager Antonio Conte has revealed Moses will be included in the matchday squad at Anfield. However, given his length of absence, it's unlikely he will make the starting XI. Conte, speaking at his pre-match press conference, said: "Tomorrow Moses is in our squad. I think I want to put him on the bench, and then to decide if there is the necessity to put him on or not." Davide Zappacosta is expected to start at right wing-back, while Moses will challenge to regain his place once fully fit.

Javier Hernandez and Michail Antonio will miss Friday's match against Leicester City.

Chicharito (hamstring) will miss his second straight match while Antonio (leg) will miss his third, but the pair could return for next Wednesday's match against Everton. Manager David Moyes confirmed Antonio was back in full training this week but, like defender James Collins, would not be risked versus the Foxes with a busy festive run of fixtures on the horizon. With Chicharito and Antonio unavailable, Andre Ayew and Marko Arnautovic, who overcome a wrist injury suffered at the weekend, could lead the attack.

James Morrison has been missing in recent weeks with an Achilles issue and while he's close he won't be ready for the trip tok Spurs

One wonders if West Brom's attacking plasyers like Morrison will get more of a chance with new management in place. It won't happen in Week 13 with Morrison and Nacer Chadli both still out but all should be aware that playing time assumptions will have to be reevaluated at the Hawthorns going forward.

Xherdan Shaqiri is questionable for Stoke City's Week 13 trip to Selhurst Park.

The Swiss international picked up another assist in Week 12. His play has finally started to live up to his reputation. Now, if only he could stay healthy. His participation in Week 13 against Crystal Palace is in doubt after his hamstring tightened up on Monday. If he plays, expectations should be high. If not, the Potters may well struggle to score.

Week 13 will come too soon for Nacer Chadli as he recovers from his hip injury.

Interim manager Gary Megson confirmed that Nacer Chadli will miss Albion's Week 13 match on Saturday at Wembley. It's hard to know what to expect from the Baggies after Tony Pulis' dismissal but a result aga inst Spurs seems unlikely.

Danny Welbeck came back from his last injury and didn't last a full match before coming off with a hamstring injury. With Welbeck recovering Arsene Wenger decided to exercise caution and kept him out against Spurs. After the exceptional performances from Sanchez and Ozil against their North London rivals, expect Welbeck to start out on the bench against the Clarets on Sunday.
