The on-again-off-again nature of Newcastle's interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seem to be on again after the player was linked to other clubs. Newcastle are also trailing West Ham's James Tomkins and Norwich's Anthony Pilkington.

It's hard to tell fact from fiction at Newcastle at the moment. Aubameyang is an attractive target, but it's hard to see the Magpies luring him to the club over interest from Dortmund, Leverkusen, Anzi, etc. Tomkins and Pilkington would be nice additions to the squad, but wouldn't necessarily improve the starting XI.

Southampton manager Claude Puel has indicated that he hopes to change the culture at St Mary's of selling key players in the summer transfer window.

In recent seasons, the Saints have lost players such as Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne, and many more to other Premier League sides. Speculation this season has hinted at more of the same with Van Dijk attracting plenty of interest and rumours surround the futures of Dusan Tadic, Ryan Bertrand, Cedric Soares, and Jay Rodriguez too. On the topic, Puel highlighted a concerted effort between him and the club's director of football, Les Reed: ""We work all season with Les [Reed] to see different players and I hope, of course, we can keep the maximum of our good players [this summer]," Puel said. "It’s important to continue this work [with this group of players] where we improve from the beginning of the season." It's clear Puel views continuity as key to the Saints' long-term success. On VVD, Puel admitted he can't stop rumours circulating, but reiterated that he wants to keep his captain at the club.

Southampton manager Claude Puel has said that he cannot guarantee that new signing Martin Caceres will make his Saints debut this season.

The Uruguayan arrived at Southampton as an emergency signing in February. He had been a free agent since his contract at Italian giants Juventus expired and was signed to replace Jose Fonte who left the club and Virgil Van Dijk who picked up a season-ending injury. However, Caceres lacked match fitness upon his arrival, and spent time playing with the Under-23s regaining his sharpness. In the interim, the makeshift combination of Maya Yoshida and Jack Stephens has proved quite successful, to the extent that Caceres is yet to play for the first team. Puel indicated that Caceres may have opportunities to play: "...Caceres is a good player with a good training session and I think he’s going to have opportunities until the end of the season." However, when asked if Caceres may not appear at all, Puel responded: "Yes." He later described himself as "happy with Jack and Maya".

Manchester United appear to be edging closer to signing Atlético Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann in the summer.

Griezmann's agent, Eric Olhats, had claimed that the Premier League club have shown "concrete interest" in signing the France international. In an interview with French TV, Olhats said: "There is an unavoidable €100m clause so that restricts the number of candidates. You have United, [Manchester] City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid. United were the first to come and see us and the most concrete in their wishes." United's lack of goals and over-reliance on Zlatan Ibrahimovic this term has been their Achilles Heel, with United constantly linked with Griezmann all season as a consequence.

Manchester United are rumoured to be confident of signing Burnley centre-back Michael Keane, who is a product of United's academy.

Jose Mourinho is in the market for a centre-back and had apparently identified Keane as a target, who he believes is worth a £25 million bid. United will face stiff competition for his signature, with Spurs the hottest competitors in the chase but United are apparently confident of sealing the deal, and have been since before he allegedly told a fan it was his preferred destination post-match last weekend. His current team Burnley are keen to hold onto their defensive mainstay, but have apparently become resigned to the fact that he would leave at the end of his contract in June 2018 if they fail to cash in on him now. United have also been linked with PSG's Marquinhos, as well as Benfica’s Viktor Lindelof. Both are seen as viable transfer options by the club.

Having failed in their bid to land centre-back Michael Keane in January, Everton have now refocused their efforts on Hull City's Harry Maguire.

Everton pursued Keane intensely during the January transfer window, but the Liverpool Echo report that manager Ronald Koeman has conceded that he will not be able to fend off competition from Spurs, and to a greater extent Manchester United, for the Englishman's signature. However, Koeman is confident that Everton's valuation Harry Maguire, 24, will be enough to beat West Ham and Southampton to signing the fans' favourite.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has confirmed on Twitter that Andy Carroll should be available for Saturday’s game at Stoke City.

The return of Carroll will be a massive boost for Slaven Bilic's side ahead of the trip to the bet365 Stadium, as the Hammers have won just one of their last five matches without the 28-year-old this season. Carroll was unable to play in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Everton, which saw Jonathan Calleri make his first Premier League start, but should return to starting XI against the Potters. Carroll, who missed the 1-1 draw with Stoke City earlier this season, has scored five goals over the course of his last 10 starts.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reported that Gary Cahill has returned to training after gastroenteritis and may be available for selection against Southampton.

Cahill missed Saturday's FA Cup semi-final following illness last week but could be involved against the Saints on Tuesday. "Gary yesterday he trained with us and also today," Conte said. "It is normal to check his condition and I want to speak very well with him tomorrow before I take the decision." Conte also confirmed he has no new injury or illness concerns following the win over Tottenham, and is likely to recall Diego Costs and Eden Hazard after leaving them out of the starting XI at Wembley. "I have in my mind the starting 11 but tomorrow I want to check very well the physical consideration of every single player as our last game was an intense one and used energy," the Italian boss added.

With erratic performances in between the sticks this season, West Ham United are reportedly considering a summer swoop for a new goalkeeper.

According to reports in Turkey, West Ham are in talks with 29-year-old Trabzonspor captain Onur Kivark ahead of the summer transfer window. The report also claims that Kivark, who kept 13 clean sheets in 27 appearances this term, was targeted by Slaven Bilic during his time in charge of Besiktas. The news comes in the wake of a pair of inconsistent performances by Darren Randolph, which saw Bilic recall former starter Adrian for Saturday's nil-nil draw with Everton.

Middlesbrough will be without Gaston Ramirez for Wednesday's home game against Sunderland after his dismissal during the 4-0 loss at Bournemouth.

The absence of Ramirez is a big blow ahead of the Riverside edition of Tees-Wear derby, as Middlesbrough is nine points from safety with just five matches remaining. The Uruguayan attacking midfielder was sent off against Bournemouth for a pair of bookable offenses, the first for a clear dive in the area and second after a dangerous lunge on Marc Pugh in the 19th minute of the match. Although the second yellow seemed harsh considering there wasn't much contact, the reckless intent of the challenge was rightly booked by the referee. Steve Agnew is expected to start Adama Traore with Ramirez unavailable, while Adam Forshaw could also be recalled with defensive midfielders Marten de Roon (ankle) and Grant Leadbitter (hamstring) both in doubt.

Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare has confirmed Wes Morgan and Islam Slimani will both miss Wednesday's game against Arsenal.

Morgan limped off in last week's 1-1 Champions League quarter-final draw with Atletico Madrid, with what Shakespeare had hoped just a cramp. However, the manager revealed in his pre-match press conference on Monday, the problem will force the center-back to miss the clash at the Emirates Stadium. On Morgan's injury, Shakespeare said: "The first impression was it was cramp. He’s overstretched his hamstring, but it hasn’t gone into a full-blown pull yet. We’re hoping that it’s a precaution on Wednesday and we’ll then look towards Saturday." Meanwhile, Islam Slimani will also miss out on the trip to Arsenal with a groin strain. "He [Slimani] hasn’t been on the pitch yet but we’re hoping to speed that recovery up and get him out this week," Shakespeare added.

Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare has confirmed that Nampalys Mendy will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his ankle.

Mendy has not played since the 1-0 defeat to Millwall in the the 5th round of the FA Cup in mid-February and will now miss the rest of the term after having an ankle operation to resolve his long-term ankle problem. The French defensive midfielder, a £13million signing from Nice last summer, was limited to just eight appearances in all competitions after injuring his ankle on his Premier League debut against Arsenal back in September. The prolonged absence of Mendy should see Wilfried Ndidi hold a firm place in the starting XI for the rest of the campaign, with Andy King also seeing an increase in minutes. "Unfortunately Papy Mendy had to have an ankle operation in France," Shakespeare said on Monday. "He’s going to be back with us doing his rehab. He had a floating bone in there that needed looking after and he’s out now until the end of the season."
