'tis the season for players to sign new five year deals with their existing clubs and Harry Kane has pledged his future to Spurs in the same way Kompany and Silva have at City.

OK, maybe it isn't exactly the same since Silva and Kompany are bedrock members of a squad that has won two of the past three Premier League titles and Kane is at the fringes of the Spurs strikeforce. Still, with Spurs thin at forward and rumors swirling about Kane potentially leaving, the new contract will provide some much-needed stability for the club as it looks to add as the transfer deadline approaches.

Brighton and Hove Albion shocked West Ham at the London Stadium in the first game of Gameweek 9 with an emphatic 3-0 win.

Brighton took an early lead thanks to a header by the man we all expected to lead their scoring charts this term, Glenn Murray. Egged on by a huge travelling contingent, Pascal Gross lofted in a free-kick towards the penalty area and the unmarked Murray power his header past a hapless Hart. The goalkeeper could have had complaints with his defence for the first but he can look to himself for allowing the second go in just before half-time. Brighton record signing José Izquierdo curled a shot deftly beyond Hart in response to decent pressure by the Hammers to send his side into the break 2-0 up. Hart should have kept it out. The home boo boys only got more to complain about in the second period after Murray grabbed his brace from the spot after winning it himself after colliding with Zabaleta. It was the Seagulls' first top flight win on the road since 1983.

Huddersfield Town are hoping to have midfielder Kasey Palmer back from injury after the November international break.

The 20-year-old re-joined the Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan this summer after a successful spell with the club last term, during which the attacking midfielder scored five goals and provided three assists in 25 appearances. Palmer, who is on loan from Chelsea, has been limited to just three appearances this season due to a recurrent hamstring injury. Manager David Wagner revealed the 20-year-old will take part in full training during the international break and barring any setbacks, will be back in contention come the middle of November. Once fit, he will compete with Elias Kachunga and Ravji van la Parra for place in the first-team.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed N'Golo Kante could be back in action before the next international.

Kante suffered a hamstring injury while playing for France earlier this month and was initially expected to be out until mid-September. But the midfielder is progressing and could potentially make his return sooner than expected. Said Conte: "I hope to have N'Golo back soon, before the international break. He's progressing well, the scan was better than before. If he is available before Manchester United and Roma I will be very happy." Should Kante return before the international break, it will likely come against Manchester United on November 5th. For the duration of his absence the midfield duties will be handled by Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoune Bakayoko, while Danny Drinkwater could factor in once he returns to full fitness.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed in his pre-match press conference that forward Sergio Aguero is fit to start.

The Argentine international has been limited over the last three weeks after sustaining a broken rib injury during Gameweek 7. However, while being in the side for the club's last three matches, including Tuesday's Champions League win against Napoli, the club's leading scorer has not started. Said manager Pep Guardiola: "The game against Stoke, he [Aguero] had done just one training session. The game against Napoli he was ready and, of course, he’s ready for tomorrow." However, it remains to be seen whether the striker will get the start with the club coming off a seven-goal performance against Stoke last weekend. A start for Aguero would mean the bench for in-form attackers Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane or Raheem Sterling after contributing a combined four goals and three assists last weekend.

Huddersfield Town midfielder Phillip Billing is facing the prospect of surgery and eight to 12 weeks on sidelines due to the an ankle injury suffered in the 2-0 defeat at Swansea City.

The Danish Under-21 international was stretched off after he fell to the ground clutching his ankle at the Liberty Stadium. While Billing was already expected to miss Saturday's match against Manchester United, manager David Wagner revealed even less encouraging news in his pre-match press conference. "Phil Billing has a serious injury," the Town boss said. "We aren’t 100% sure if he needs surgery or not. The final investigations will be on Monday." With Billing facing an absence of eight to 12 weeks, Danny Williams could see an significant role increase . Meanwhile, Aaron Mooy could return to the starting XI against Manchester United having fully recovered from international duty.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman announced five players are fit to face Arsenal on Sunday after a string of injuries.

The under-fire manager confirmed that Wayne Rooney, Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka are all in contention to face the Gunners after being rested in the club's Europa League loss to Lyon yesterday. Said Koeman about Rooney: "He’s working hard to get it right for himself and also for the team. I admire the way he is a professional on the pitch and in training." The manager also confirmed that midfielders Morgan Schneiderlin and James McCarthy are expected to be available for the weekend match.

Huddersfield Town have been handed a boost with top scorer Steve Mounie set to make his return from injury against Manchester United on Saturday,

While Mounie may have to start from the bench after missing the last four matches, his availability is a major plus. The Terriers have managed just one goal and failed to score in their last three without the Benin international. If Wagner exercises caution with Mounie this weekend and opts to name him to the bench, Laurent Depoitre could be handed a five successive start. Mounie has scored two in four appearances this season but hasn't found the net since his memorable brace on his Premier League debut against Crystal Palace on opening weekend. However, he will return to the starting XI once fully fit.

Danny Welbeck, still recovering from the hamstring injury he picked up against Watford, will miss the trip to Merseyside to face Everton on Sunday.

The England international appears to have a starting spot in the Arsenal line-up when healthy. The "when healthy" part has been the challenge. After returning from one injury after the international break he didn't last a full 90 minutes before going down with his latest injury, this time to his hamstring. It doesn't appear to be a long-term injury and Arsene Wenger will hope to have Welbeck back as soon as Week 10.

Laurent Koscielny has trained with Arsenal ahead of their Week 9 trip to Everton and should be available to participate.

Whether Arsene Wenger calls on the France international as he returns from his latest injury is another question but after the disappointment against Watford last weekend, you have to expect that he'll pull out all of the stops to get a win. Expect a trio of Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, and Nacho Monreal to start at the back flanked by Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal for the match against Ronald Koeman's mightily struggling Toffees early on Sunday.

Aaron Ramsey is back in training and Arsene Wenger will have the choice to deploy him against Everton on Sunday.

With the option of playing it cautious, both with selection and Ramsey's injury status, you'd never want to predict what Wenger will do here but after Arsenal struggled to generate an attack with Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny at the base of midfield, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Ramsey right back in the starting line-up. The alternative would be Wenger giving Jack Wilshere a first Premier League start after a couple of Europa League run-outs. As always, Wenger's choices will be highly scrutinized regardless of which player he chooses this weekend.

West Ham will be without defender James Collins for Friday's match against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 34-year-old has missed the last three matches after he suffered an ankle injury during a goalless draw with West Brom in mid-Sept. His absence on Friday should see Winston Reid and Jose Fonte continue at center-back, while Angelo Ogbonna will be available off the substitute's bench. However, manager Slaven Bilic suggested in his pre-match press conference the Wales international and striker Diafra Sakho could both be back for next Wednesday's Carabao Cup match against Tottenham. "James Collins is out for a matter of days and Sakho has back pain," said Bilic. "They could both be back for the Spurs game."
