West Ham have signed striker Diafra Sakho from FC Metz on a four-year deal.

Sakho is a competent striker who has a solid history in Ligue One. The 24-year old had 44 goals in 114 matches and is young enough to where he has time to adjust to the Premier League and its physical style. We don't recommend Sakho in week one or two but if he can adjust well to life in the Premier League, he could be a good option in a revamped West Ham attack. He will likely partner Enner Valencia with Mauro Zarate supporting them from behind.

Mark Hughes will check on Bojan Krkic after he took a bang on his foot today: "He probably won't train tomorrow but we hope he will be OK this weekend."

Bojan was an unused substitute last time out as Hughes made a number of changes to help freshen his side against Sunderland. Peter Crouch and Charlie Adam did well: "I was delighted," said Hughes who confirms "both are in my thoughts for the game." Glen Johnson "is training" but this weekend will come too soon for the full-back. He should be available for the final game "we hope." Marc Wilson’s domestic campaign is over as he won’t be fit enough to play in either of the two remaining games. However, he should be available for the Republic of Ireland. A decision on Marko Arnautovic will be made closer to kick off while a groin problem continues to hamper Shay Given.

Alan Pardew will make a late decision on Yannick Bolasie who is struggling due to sickness: "We’re waiting on him." Meanwhile, the Eagles boss also confirms Mile Jedinak "has a slight knock."

If one, or both players miss out against Stoke then Palace do have options, although Chung-Yong Lee is unlikely to be considered after he was fined this week following his comments about Pardew in the South Korean Press. Bakary Sako and Joe Ledley are poised to come in. Wilfried Zaha "still has a bit of a problem" which means he’ll miss the remaining league games "but he should be fine by the (FA Cup) final" in a little over two weeks. "He is a naturally fit guy. He did the injury before the semi-final. We monitored him afterwards and saw there was a slight tear." Sullay Kaikai was brilliant during his loan spell at Shrewsbury and young midfielder will be play a part during the run-in: "I'm not sure I'll involve him this weekend, but I will involve him at Southampton. He's earned that."

The FA have formally charged both Chelsea and Tottenham with failing to control their players during Monday night's match and Mousa Dembele looks to face an extensive ban for his eye-gouging of Diego Costa.

Both clubs will have fines levied upon them for three separate infractions in which they failed to control their players. These incidents occurred during the 45th and 87th minute of the match as well as a third disruption after the final whistle. The only individual called out in the FA's declaration on their website is Dembele, and they go on to imply that the action he took deserves a heavier penalty than the typical three match ban for violent conduct. There is no reason, in fantasy or reality, to believe that Dembele will step onto the pitch again this season. The question is how much time will he miss at the beginning of next season.

Liverpool welcome Emre Can back to training and the defensive midfielder is in contention to start for the Reds in the second leg of the Europa League semifinal on Thursday.

Can was initially thought to have been lost for the rest of the season with an ankle injury he picked up in the second leg quarterfinal against Borussia Dortmund. He has made an earlier-than-expected return to training though and, if he can prove his fitness, could be picked by Jurgen Klopp to start on Thursday. The Reds desperately need to keep Villareal from scoring to have a shot at advancing to the final and the presence of Can would only improve their chances. If he does start, he would most certainly partner James Milner in the middle of the formation, allowing someone like Lucas to make the XI this weekend against Watford. After seeing that area of the pitch struggle against Swansea in the last round with inexperienced youngsters, it would be yet another boost for the clash with the Hornets.

James Morrison is hoping to play some part in the season run-in after spending most of the calendar year side-lined following a hamstring injury.

The 29-year-old was forced off during the opening exchanges at Stamford Bridge back in January and hasn’t kicked a ball competitively since. But after undergoing surgery to correct a tendon problem, Morrison is closing in on a return to action and pushing to be involved at Bournemouth or on the final day against Liverpool. "It’s been a really frustrating spell for me because I didn’t imagine it would take this long to get back," Morrison said speaking to the club website. "But I was desperate to play I had a little setback early on. So I’ve taken things very carefully since then to make sure I was 100 per cent recovered." Morrison came through 45-minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly unscathed last Tuesday and hopes to complete the final phase of his recovery with a return to the first team.

Santi Cazorla continued to step up his recovery from a serious knee injury -- plus Achilles tendinitis -- during an hour long run out for the development side against Blackburn on Tuesday.

The Spanish playmaker was included in the match day squad for the first time since November last weekend, but was an unused substitute at the Emirates in a 1-0 win over Norwich. However, Cazorla was back in action, playing 60 minutes for the Under-21s in a play-off semi-final game yesterday and it was his assist which helped the Gunners on their way to a 2-1 victory. Arsenal fielded a strong starting eleven which also included Tomas Rosicky - who hasn’t played for the first team since rupturing his thigh muscle in January. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain did not make the squad despite his recovery from a knee ligament injury.

Mauricio Pochettino has played down injury concerns after Toby Alderweireld was forced off during the closing stages of Mondays’ game against bitter rivals Chelsea.

Alderweireld was left lying in a heap following a hard but fair Diego Costa challenge as the game moved into injury time. Following treatment, the defender moved gingerly to the side-lines and with only two Premier League games remaining many believed his season could be over. However, speaking to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws Pochettino revealed: "It’s his knee. We’ll have to have a look, but it should be OK." Fellow countryman Mousa Dembele is another who could see his campaign end prematurely. The Tottenham midfielder was caught on camera eye gouging Diego Costa as tempers flared at Stamford Bridge.

Manuel Pellegrini provided a mixed injury update ahead of his sides’ trip to Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

The Chilean boss revealed Yaya Toure had re-joined the group in training after overcoming a muscular problem. But right-back Pablo Zabaleta will miss the remainder of the campaign after suffering a calf strain at St Marys’ on Sunday. Following Tuesdays’ Champions League pre-match media briefing, the 31-year-old provided his own update via Twitter: ‘Sadly after an MRI scan I can confirm a muscle tear grade 2 in my left calf which is around 3 weeks off’. If City do progress to the final then Zabaleta could make the game which is scheduled for May 28 at the San Siro in Milan. He joins David Silva in the treatment room – hamstring – who will also miss around 21-days. Bacary Sagna is set to deputise in his absence.

Marouane Fellaini and Robert Huth face the prospect of a three-match ban after the pair were charged with alleged violent conduct by the Football Association today.

The incident, which was missed by match officials during Sundays’ 1-1 draw at Old Trafford but was caught on video, shows Fellaini swinging an elbow as he reacted to having his hair pulled by Huth. Both players have until 6pm GMT on Wednesday to respond to the allegations but giving the damming evidence a ban seems the most likely outcome. Fellaini would miss the three remaining Premier League matches, but crucially he could play in the FA Cup final on May 21. Meanwhile, Huth would carry one game into next season meaning he will miss the first match of Leicester’s title defence.

Manchester City will receive a major boost this week after Yaya Toure was deemed fit before the club's biggest game of the season.

The Sky Blues take on Real Madrid on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League semifinal second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu following a 0-0 draw in the first leg. But now they will have Yaya Toure in midfield against the Spanish giants. It will be interesting to see where Toure fits into the starting lineup after missing the last week with a thigh injury as Fernando and Fernandinho were stellar in front of the back-line. Without David Silva, Toure could take more of an attacking role but two goals from Kelechi Iheanacho over the weekend could see City play with two strikers.
May 3 - 2:05 PM

Manchester City will have to do without Pablo Zabaleta and David Silva for Wednesday's showdown with Real Madrid due to injury.

While Zabaleta didn't feature against Real Madrid in the 0-0 draw at the Etihad in the first leg last week, City could be vulnerable at the right-back position. It will be up to Bacary Sagna to slow down Cristiano Ronaldo, who didn't play in the first leg but has been deemed 100 percent fit for the UEFA Champions League second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu. Meanwhile, the news of David Silva comes as no surprise given that the midfielder is likely set to miss the rest of the Premier League season after suffering a hamstring injury in the 40th minute of the first leg last week.
