Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino has made it known that the club is interested in three big names this summer: Victor Wanyama, Ever Banega, and Leandro Damiao.

Celtic have already accepted a £12m fee for Victor Wanyama but the Saints had problems agreeing personal terms with the player and his agent. Pochettino believes a deal can still be reached but the club is standing their ground. There were rumors that the Saints had made a €20m bid for Damiao, but Internacional are denying those rumors. All three players should be starters for Southampton if they end up with the Saints.

Everton's chances of finishing in the top four took a major blow this evening, as they have their seven game winning streak snapped at home to a confident Crystal Palace side in a 2-3 final.

Everton have to be feeling a bit stunned, as they had just put themselves in a position to control their fate over the weekend, and now find themselves losing at home to a side they may have underestimated. It was looking dire after going down 0-2 early in the second half, but substitute Steven Naismith helped the Toffees get back in it with his third goal of the last four matches. Palace went up by two again, but Kevin Mirallas cut the deficit late with his 8th league goal this season. Unfortunately, they could not eventually equalize, though Mirallas had a huge chance squandered in the final moments. Everton dominated possession and took over a dozen corners, but two goals were all they could manage, and it wasn't enough. They now hand the fate of the final Champions League spot back over to Arsenal.

David Silva missed Manchester City's surprise draw with Sunderland due to injury.

Twitter reports suggest Silva missed out with an ankle problem he initally picked up against Manchester United last month. Suggestions are the midfielder will be okay to face West Brom on Monday, but we'll ensure an update is provided in the team news post on Friday. Manuel Pellegrini will be desperate for Silva to make a speedy recovery, with talisman Yaya Toure already missing for the next two weeks and Sergio Aguero still feeling his way back to full fitness.

Manchester City dropped points in their attempt to close in on their Premier League title-chasing rivals, drawing 2-2 with Sunderland.

Who saw this coming? Rock-bottom Sunderland have been woeful for the past month and looked doomed to another defeat when Fernandinho opened the scoring for Manchester City after just two minutes. However, the Black Cats then put on an excellent showing and their hard work was rewarded with 17 minutes to go, as forgotten man Connor Wickham equalised, before shocking the Etihad by scoring a second goal ten minutes later. The goals looked to have given Sunderland a relegation life-line, but with two minutes left goalkeeper Vito Mannone fumbled Samir Nasri's shot over the line, which earnt City an undeserved draw. A point does neither side much good though, as Gus Poyet's men are set for the drop, while City sit six points behind leaders Liverpool and four behind Chelsea with only one of their games in hand remaining.

Jason Puncheon continued his stellar run of form, scoring the opening the goal and assisting the eventual game-winner, as Crystal Palace win their fourth straight in a 2-3 upset over Everton.

Palace opened the scoring thanks to a fine run and cross from Yannick Bolasie which eventually was controlled by Marouane Chamakh, who teed up Puncheon for the tap in. Early in the second half, the Eagles would go up two on a header from Scott Dann resulting from a Bolasie corner. Everton would mount a comeback but Palace's third goal would prove to seal the points as Puncheon would find Cameron Jerome who moved the ball to his right and created the space to shoot and beat Tim Howard. Today's result was a shining example of the job Tony Pulis has done since arriving to Selhurst Park, and his name surely belongs in the conversation for manager of the season. At one time, they were floundering in the relegation zone. A few months later, they are a formidable side.

Matt Jarvis scored the opening goal in the 40th minute to give West Ham hope for a famous victory at the Emirates but it was not to be as Arsenal stormed back with three unanswered goals for the win.

West Ham played Arsenal even for most of the first half and may even have been considered the better team in the first half. In the 40th minute Matt Jarvis scored the opening goal with his head off of a rebound. The lead didn't last long as Lukas Podolski scored with a powerful left-footed shot in the 44th minute. The lead slipped away for good ten minutes into the second half as Thomas Vermaelen's long ball into the box was controlled by Olivier Giroud who put it through Adrian's legs for the match winner. Lukas Podolski scored an insurance goal for the final 3-1 scoreline.

With Arsenal in dire need of points Lukas Podolski cancelled out West Ham's first half lead and then scored an insurance goal to ensure Arsenal all three points at home against the Hammers.

With many people predicting a trip up after a draining FA Cup semi-final over the weekend things were off to a rough start when Matt Jarvis scored the opener for West Ham. Lukas Podolski evened the score just before halftime to lighten the mood at the Emirates. In the second half Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski both scored to ensure victory for Arsenal as they continue their race with Everton for the final Champions League spot.

Chelsea announced over the weekend that star midfielder Eden Hazard will return "sooner rather than later".

There was no timetable for Hazard's return, but considering his initial prognosis was two to three weeks, we expect Hazard to have a chance to return against Atletico Madrid next week. In terms of the Premier League, Hazard's most likely return to occur against Liverpool in week 36. The Reds are not known for their defense, so Hazard remains an options in that game if the team news are positive. In the meantime, Mohamed Salah will replace him in Chelsea's starting lineup.

Manchester City will be missing Yaya Toure for up to two weeks due to the groin injury picked up against Liverpool.

This is obviously bad news for City, but Yaya was initially ruled out of playing again this season, so it could've been worse. The midfielder will miss the second part of this double-week against Sunderland, as well as the clash against West Brom in Week 35, but Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping he could be ready to return against Crystal Palace at the end of April. In other news, Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero both came through the Liverpool game without problems and will be expected to start on Wednesday.

Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-2 to go five points clear at the top of the Premier League, with Philippe Coutinho hitting the winning goal.

What a game. As has been their signature this season, Liverpool started strongly and were 2-0 up within 25 minutes thanks to a smart finish from Raheem Sterling and a trademark header from Martin Skrtel. Manchester City worked their way back in to the match despite losing Yaya Toure to injury, and were unlucky not have been awarded a penalty towards end of the first half when Mamadou Sakho took out Edin Dzeko. City continued to press in the second half and were rewarded when David Silva slotted home after great work by substitute James Milner. It was soon to become 2-2 as Glenn Johnson diverted a cross in to his own net, and City came close to taking the lead when Sergio Aguero's cross was nudged agonisingly wide by Silva. With 12 minutes remaining and the away side in the ascendancy, Vincent Kompany sliced a clearance and the ball fell to Philippe Coutinho, who hit a sweet snap-shot beyond Joe Hart to win his side a massive three points.

Chelsea were not their sharpest today, but Demba Ba scored the only goal they would need to take the points and keep pace in the title race with a 0-1 win.

The Blues were without Eden Hazard and Frank Lampard in their squad, and Mourinho gave Ba a rare start. They did not show much chemistry in their attack on the whole during the match, but an early sending off of Chico Flores provided the advantage necessary to finally break the Swansea defense in the second half. Ba found himself isolated with Ashley Williams, went left, shot with the left foot and found the back of the net for his fourth league goal of the season. Their defense meanwhile kept things tidy against 10 men and continue to be a reliable fantasy source.

Yaya Toure was substituted in the first half of Manchester City's 3-2 defeat to Liverpool due to injury.

Toure injured himself attempting a shot early in the game and never looked comfortable before he was eventually withdrawn on 19 minutes. It looked to be a groin problem, and it would appear unlikely that the midfielder will be able to face Sunderland in midweek. We await official news from City over the coming days.
