Everton have continued to buy Roberto Martinez's former Wigan charges with the acquisition of goalkeeper Joel Robles.

Robles now joins Arouna Kone and Antolin Alcaraz as former Wigan players purchased by Everton this week and it is only Tuesday. With Jan Mucha gone and Tim Howard aging it makes sense for Everton to acquire a young back-up with the potential to take the #1 shirt in the next couple of seasons. Robles looked solid in limited action for Wigan last season but Martinez's continued acquisition of players who were relegated with him last season would worry me if I were an Everton supporter.

Alan Pardew lost his first game since taking charge at Crystal Palace as Everton left Selhurst Park with all three points ending the Eagles’ four game winning streak but it was the loss of striker Marouane Chamakh which stole the headlines.

Chamakh was making his first Premier League start since mid-December having recently recovered from a hamstring strain and the Moroccan was hoping to add the two goals he scored in last weekends' FA Cup win at St Marys’. However the forwards afternoon was ended early following a clash of heads and he was stretchered off after just 25 minutes an injury which was later confirmed as a broken nose – and not concussion – meaning a return in game week 24 against Leicester is possible. However should Chamakh fail to recover in time then Pardew will have a number of attacking options with Dwight Gayle, Glenn Murray, Fraizer Campbell and Yaya Sanogo all able to lead the line.

There were lots of heroes with Arsenal winning 5-0 but Santi Cazorla was the biggest star with a goal and two assists.

It looked like Mesut Ozil was going to be the star with a beautiful flick to put Giroud in for Arsenal's first followed by a goal of his own. Santi Cazorla came on with an assist for Theo Walcott'Walcott' third, a penalty of his own and then an assist on Hector Bellerin's capper in stoppage time. It was as comprehensive a win as we've seen from Arsenal this season that featured goal-scoring returns from Ozil and Walcott.

Chelsea and Manchester City settled for a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge today.

Chelsea opened up the scoring in the 41st minute after an incredible combination that started with Branislav Ivanovic. Ivanovic played a great ball across the pitch to Hazard, who was able to lay it through right in front of goal with just a touch where Loic Remy finished calmly. Just minutes later, David Silva equalized after deflecting a Sergio Aguero shot. Things were quiet in the second half and Chelsea chose to defend and settle for a point. It's a good result for the London club as they were missing Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas and currently have a five point lead on top of the table.

Kurt Zouma seems to have taken the Chelsea starting center-back job from Gary Cahill.

Zouma has played spectacularly his last few times on the pitch and the defender is now the preferred choice to Gary Cahill. Zouma started today in a huge match against Manchester City, so the chances of him going back to the bench are low. He's available for cheap in plenty of fantasy leagues and can be claimed on waivers in season-long leagues. A starter in Chelsea's defense is automatically fantasy relevant, and Zouma should be owned in all season-long leagues. He is also a great bargain in the Yahoo! game at £ 3.73M.

Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen were the stars again as Tottenham sealed an impressive 3-0 victory over West Brom at the Hawthorns.

Another good away result for Spurs moves them up to fifth in the table after they dispatched Tony Pulis' West Brom side with ease. Eriksen opened the scoring after just six minutes with yet another brilliant free-kick, before Kane doubled the lead ten minutes later, with Mousa Dembele playing a key role in both goals to give Maurico Pochettino's men a comfortable lead going in at half time. The Baggies had chances with Hugo Lloris making two good saves and Craig Dawson heading against the crossbar, but Kane sealed the points with his second goal from the penalty spot - his 20th in all competitions this season. West Brom will be disappointed with their performance and they remain just three points above the drop zone.

Liverpool enjoyed a productive afternoon as they won 2-0 over West Ham United with both goals set up by Phillipe Coutinho.

It looked like a frustrating day for the Reds after one half of play, as they dominated possession, and created several chances without cashing in, with a sitter from Lazar Markovic just before the half summing up their frustration. They never kept off the front foot though, and the chances began to come good in the second frame. A cross to Raheem Sterling allowed the speedster to play a 1-2 with Coutinho and Sterling chipped in his fifth league goal of the season. Then just 12 minutes into his substitution appearance, Daniel Sturridge scored after following Coutinho up the pitch on the break. The Brazilian dribbled nimbly toward the area then picked out Sturridge who finished with confidence. Add in another clean sheet and we are looking at the best form of the season right now for Liverpool. All of their fantasy stock is ticking up.

Jermain Defoe scores a goal in his debut at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland beat Burnley 2-0.

Connor Wickham put Sunderland out to an early led with a comfortable header close to goal 20 minutes into the match and Jermain Defoe made it 2-0 15 minutes later. Burnley outshot Sunderland 13-8, but Costel Pantilimon saved all four shots on goal. Sunderland fans have got to be pleased with the recent acquisition of Defoe who was brought in to replace US men's national team striker Jozy Altidore who was struggling to get on the scoresheet. Altidore had one goal in 42 appearances for Sunderland over the last two years while Defoe has a goal (and an assist) in just two appearances since joining the Black Cats earlier this month.

Jon Walters scored a surprising hat trick to power Stoke City to a 3-1 win over QPR at the,Britannia.

At 31-years-old, Jon Walters is having a breakout season for Mark Hughes and Stoke City. Walters has generally been viewed as a utility player and a workmanlike reserve but this season he has broken out as the Potters' leading scorer. With Bojan out for the season the club will need Walters to keep up his current pace.

West Ham United came up against a well-oiled Liverpool side and were never much of a threat as they leave Anfield empty-handed in a 2-0 final.

After an easy 3-0 roasting of Hull in their last league match, the Hammers ran into a buzzsaw today. For the first twenty odd minutes, it was looking rather even between the two sides but Liverpool gradually began bossing the show, scoring twice in the second half to seal the points. It was a particularly woeful day for Carroll though as not only did he fail to find the net on a couple of opportunities, he was booked and he hobbled off for a substitute in the 63rd minute. The Hammers will be happy to enjoy their home environs again next weekend, but they will be tested again when Manchester United pay a visit. Hammer investment is trending downward.

Danny Ings was replaced in the second half in the team's 2-0 loss to Sunderland on Saturday.

Ings came off at the 61-minute mark without shaking hands with manager Sean Dyche. He wasn't having a poor game and the Clarets needed goals so the move is somewhat shocking, especially since Ings leads the team in goals. Multiple teams, including Liverpool, have reportedly been trying to lure Ings away from his current club with six months left on his contract, but Burnley insist he's not going anywhere. It's a situation worth monitoring over the next few days based on today's events.

QPR's road futility continued as Jon Walters scores a hat trick while the Rs managed only one.

Harry Redknapp's men just can't win on the road and that continued in Week 23 as they dropped a 3-1 decision to Stoke City. Niko Kranjcar scored a goal to pull the Rs within 2-1 before Jon Walters finished off his hat trick in stoppage time. The loss left QPR without a point on the road after 11 attempts.
