Barcelona attacking midfielder and U20 World Cup star Gerard Deulofeu has joined Everton on a one year loan.

This is a great get for Roberto Martinez coming on the back of Deulofeu's star performance at the U20 World Cup this summer. The 19 year-old can play can play wide or through the middle and, for one year at least, gives them a great deal of flexibility with their line-up should he be able to adapt to the increased competition and physicality of the Premier League. This will be especially important if Marouane Fellaini leaves as has been frequently rumored this summer.

West Ham defender James Collins will miss West Ham's trip to Newcastle this weekend.

West Ham have not been able to keep anyone healthy in recent weeks and Collins is another casualty that they'll miss in the final week. Collins has also been ruled out of the European Championship qualifier against Belgium on June 12th. The good news for the Hammers is that James Tomkins returns from a shoulder injury and will likely start at center-back.

James Tomkins is hopeful to feature in West Ham's last match of the season.

Tomkins has missed several matches due to a dislocated shoulder but he is back at training and hopeful to feature in the last match. Due to the uncertainty, we'd recommend avoiding him in fantasy. Either way, he should be good to go for the beginning of next seasons and he's been good enough this year to earn a spot in the rotation going forward.

Eden Hazard has been upgraded to doubtful for GW38.

Hazard was initially ruled out for the last match of the season after undergoing a dental procedure to remove his wisdom teeth but Jose Mourinho now hopes Hazard can be involved on Sunday. This is Chelsea's last match of the season and they'll be presented with the cup, so Mourinho will want to play his regulars. If Hazard can be fit, he will feature, but he is a huge risk for fantasy managers.

Jose Mourinho confirmed today that Diego Costa will play once again in the final match of the season.

Costa returned from injury last week and looked healthy. He will play again on Sunday and most likely start, as Jose Mourinho previously said he's going with his best XI in the final week. Didier Drogba or Loic Remy could feature from the bench, but Costa can be trusted in fantasy as long as Chelsea show some sort of energy.
May 22 - 7:30 PM

Petr Cech will play some part of Sunday's match but may not start.

Jose Mourinho is unsure if Petr Cech will start but he will play some part of Chelsea's last match. This could very well be Cech's last match in a Chelsea uniform so it's not out of the question that he starts and is taken out early to get the fans' respect. Since we don't know how much either goalkeeper(Cech or Thibaut Courtois) will play on Sunday, it's very risky to play either one in fantasy. It's very likely neither one earns a clean sheet due to restricted playing time. Avoid both at all costs.
May 22 - 7:44 PM

Morgan Schneiderlin will miss the last match of the season due to a knee problem.

Schneiderlin was considered questionable for the last match so he is obviously close to returning but won't be risked. Schneiderlin has been a big part of Southampton's success this season despite only playing in 26 Premier League matches. There are multiple rumors sending him to other clubs this summer though, so his fantasy value could be impacted in a major way depending on where he lands this summer. Keep an eye on his status through the transfer window.

This is just a reminder that Kelvin Davis will start Southampton's last match of the season.

Ronald Koeman confirmed earlier that Davis will get his 300th match for Southampton ahead of Paulo Gazzaniga. Gazzaniga was given a chance to prove himself in the last two matches so the Saints can plan ahead for next season and his performance was solid for the most part. It's unknown if Saints think they can survive with Gazzaniga and Davis next season with Fraser Forster expected to miss a big part of the campaign. We think Davis will lead the Saints in August if no new goalkeeper is signed this summer.

David Nugent will not be ready for gameweek 38 with a nagging calf injury.

Nigel Pearson told the media today that Nugent will not make it for the last match of the season due to an injury but also clarified that the injury wasn't very serious. Nugent would have been in contention would this game have meant anything but considering Leicester City have avoided relegation, Nugent will not be risked. Jamie Vardy and Leo Ulloa will likely start for the Foxes.

Wayne Rooney missed Week 37 against Arsenal but could return for Manchester United's trip to Hull City for the season finale.

With little to play for, it isn't clear why Louis Van Gaal would risk an aging player who was questionable for the entire week. That said, reports from the Manchester United camp are that Rooney is fit and available should Van Gaal choose to select him. United's attack hasn't been great minus Michael Carrick this season so picking Rooney includes multiple forms of risk starting with the fact that he might not play and extending to the fact that United's attack hasn't been good without Carrick even when they do have something to play for. If it were my team, I'd stay away.

Luke Shaw will miss Manchester United's final match of the season as he recovers from a concussion.

Luke Shaw's first season at United has been difficult to say the least. He has started only 15 matches in the Premier League this season and added one substitute appearance to that total. Louis Van Gaal has campaigned for the player to stay home from the U21 European Championships and it looks like he'll get his wish but at a certain point, Shaw is going to need some competitive action if he's going to reach the potential that United has already paid for. Clearly, LVG thinks the best path to game action is for Shaw to get into better shape over the summer and participate in a full training camp with United rather than risking further injury on England youth duty.

Jay Rodriguez will travel with Southampton for the final match of the season but will not be in the match squad.

Rodriguez is still recovering from numerous set-backs of his ACL injury and will not feature for a single minute this season. His recovery from an ACL injury has been extremely problematic and has us worries more than usual about his long term recovery. Rodriguez will go into next season with lowered expectations so he can probably be had for cheaper in fantasy leagues. He is a high risk, high upside pick late in drafts.
