Robert Snodgrass returned to the Norwich side that drew 2-2 against Braga.

Snodgrass had been linked with West Ham United, and his absence from the Canaries' friendlies had raised eyebrows. However, he was attending to family matters and is assured a big role in Chris Hughton's team.

Brendan Rodgers has refused to rule Daniel Sturridge out of this weekend’s game against West Brom and regardless of whether the England international is involved on Saturday the striker will play no part in the upcoming European qualification games for the Three Lions.

Amid mounting pressure following a series of disappointing performances and results Rodgers is prepared to give Sturridge every opportunity to prove himself after nearly four weeks out with a grade one thigh strain. Mario Balotelli is yet to open his Premier League account with sections of home support becoming restless while the absence of Joe Allen – targeting a return after the international break – has proved to be a big miss in midfield. The Reds have now gone four games without a win - league and cup – and face a confident West Brom side who arrive on the back of an impressive 4-0 victory against Burnley last Sunday.

Victor Moses continues to set the fantasy world alight with his performances for Stoke City and it continued in the Potters' Week 6 win over Newcastle.

Victor Moses has played four matches for Stoke City thus far and in the Yahoo format, he has averaged just a shade under 15 points per outing. And it isn't just the fantasy numbers, all you have to do is watch a Stoke match briefly to see that Moses is at the center of just about everything they do. For a player who has struggled to make an impact at bigger clubs, he may have found both his level and a home. The Week 6 performance was full of Moses' now-typical all-around goodness with an assist, a shot on target, two successful crosses, two interceptions, and two tackles. Amazing stuff from a wide player.

Coming off of a brace in League Cup action, Marc Muniesa was given a start against Newcastle and didn't disappoint.

The former Barcelona trainee stepped in for Erik Pieters against Newcastle and neither the club nor the player skipped a beat as they kept a clean sheet with Muniesa providing solid cover. It was a far cry from his brace against Sunderland in the League Cup but a blocked shot, three interceptions and a tackle on top of the clean sheet were enough for a 13 point performance in the Yahoo format. It seems unlikely that he has moved permanently ahead of Pieters but he has served notice that he can be a strong option if Pieters is absent for an extended period.

After starting the season as a sub for the first two matches and producing little in his first two starts, Peter Crouch has come on with two goals and an assist in his last two PL matches.

Mark Hughes had a lot of new faces to integrate in the early part of the season with Mame Biram Diouf, Bojan, Victor Moses, and Oussama Assaidi all arriving to join the existing team. It has taken a while but Hughes seems to have settled on Crouch and Diouf as his preferred forwards with Moses firing in crosses at a prolific rate. The results have been strong for the lanky Crouch who has scored from two and knocked another to Diouf for a goal. With Diouf now injured it will be interesting to see how the dynamics change.

Craig Dawson has emerged from the fringes of the squad as a starter for West Brom this season and he announced himself with a huge performance in the Week 6 win over Burnley.

The 24-year-old central defender has been starting all season for the Baggies but between the team's poor performances and his relative unfamiliarity with the Premier League, he hadn't shown much. That all changed in Week 6 when he scored, recorded a clean sheet and added solid phantom points to his performance as well for a huge total of 28 points in the Yahoo format. The return to health of Joleon Lescott seems to have helped Dawson significantly over the past two weeks. Many saw the clean sheet win over Spurs as a fluke but the new center back pairing may be the key to good things for Albion. The situation is very much worth monitoring for potential value in draft/auction-type leagues.

After his midweek goal in the English League Cup, Jozy Altidore called on the rest of his teammates to be a little "nastier". He also spoke about rejoining the first team.

Jozy Altidore scored his first goal of 2014-15 for Sunderland during a 2-1 home loss to Stoke City in the third round of the English League Cup, his first since December 4, 2013 (vs Chelsea). After the game he told reporters that his teammates need to be "tougher" and that his focus is on making it back into the first team. Unfortunately, his goal (plus the pep talk) didn't turn into minutes vs Swansea. With just 57 minutes played in the PL this season, Jozy will need a lot to fall his way in order for him to have any chance of rejoining the first team. For now, he's got a long ways to go before earning a spot in Gus Poyet's starting XI.

After conceding at least one goal in each of the first four games, Vito Mannone and Sunderland hold Swansea goalless to earn their second consecutive shutout.

Sunderland have been one of the weakest offensive teams in the PL after six games. Good thing for them, they've also been one of the stingiest when it comes to conceding. Thru six games Sunderland have given up just 6 goals, good for third-best in the league. Their schedule has been favorable to start the year so look for them to start conceding in the near future. Over the next eight games they'll face the top four, plus a few middle-of-the-pack teams. Hold onto Vito this week, but look for a replacement when they travel to Southampton in two weeks.

Frazier Campbell helps Crystal Palace improve to 2-0-2 under new boss Neil Warnock.

Second-half goals from Campbell and captain Mile Jedinak were enough for Palace to clinch all three points Saturday, as it won at home for the first time this season. It looks like Campbell has cemented himself in the starting XI for the time being. You can't expect him to produce like this week-in-week-out at this point, but it's good to see him getting goals in consecutive matches against quality opponents. Palace will play Hull on the road this week before facing off against the Premier League leaders - Chelsea - at home.

Senegalese striker Mime Biram Diouf has been ruled out of this weekend’s trip to Wearside after failing to recover from the hamstring injury he suffered against Newcastle on Monday night. The Potters meet Sunderland for the second time in less than two weeks following their League Cup win in September.

Diouf has started the season impressively with two goals from five starts – most notably against Manchester City – when the forward ran fully 70 yards to coolly slot the ball home past England goalkeeper Joe Hart to take all three points from the Etihad. His absence – although a blow – will provide Marco Arnautovic with an opportunity to shine following his stop / start beginning to the campaign after a foot injury while Oussama Assaidi and Stephen Ireland will be pushing for a place amongst the eleven as they gradually return to full fitness. Victor Moses has been superb and will be hoping to continue his fine form with Mark Hughes also expecting to have Jon Walters [calf] at his disposal.

West Brom could welcome back a quartet of players this weekend but Baggies boss Alan Irvine is unlikely to make wholesale changes after the emphatic victory over Burnley at the Hawthorns in game week six.

Chris Baird [illness] missed out last Sunday but has returned to training while Brown Ideye [ankle], Sylvestre Varela and Victor Anichebe [both groin] face late fitness tests; full-back Sebastien Pocognoli who limped to the sidelines after picking up a minor knock should be fine. However West Brom will be forced into at least one alteration as Andre Wisdom is unable to face his parent club under the terms of his loan agreement – Christian Gamboa is in line for his first league start since his summer move from Rosenborg. Saido Berahino will look to add to his four goals already this term and will be buoyed by the news of his England Under-21 call up on Thursday.

According to teammate Bobby Zamora, Vargas is "still finding his seat since coming to the Premier League" from Serie A.

Vargas played limited minutes in QPR's 4-0 loss to Man United, but since then has started the last two consecutive matches, notching an assist in the team's 2-1 loss to Southampton this past weekend. "He’s come all the way over here and he doesn’t speak any English so it takes time," said Zamora. Hopefully the 24 year-old can give a boost to the club's attack from here on out because with the way things look right now, QPR will need everything they can get to escape relegation at the end of the season.
