Surprisingly, new summer signing Arouna Kone didn't start for Everton in their opener against Norwich City.

Fantasy managers will wonder about Roberto Martinez's rotation after he chose to keep new signing, and his former Wigan charge, Arouna Kone on the bench in favor of Nikica Jelavic. Does this mean that Jelavic is the starter, at least for now? Or will Martinez rotate his forwards until something clicks. This seems likely to be a point of frustration and potential risk for fantasy managers in the short term.

Mark Hughes is sweating on the fitness of Marko Arnautovic ahead of next weekends’ trip to Selhurst Park.

Arnautovic was a concern heading into Saturdays’ game against Sunderland, but the big Austrian passed a late test although he wasn’t able to complete 90 minutes. "I thought he was excellent today," said Hughes who was speaking post-match about the players performance and well-taken goal. However, the Potters boss revealed: "He’s got a problem with his thigh," that's the reason he couldn’t continue. "When he starts to tire, it starts to restrict him." Hughes remains "hopeful" that Arnautovic will be OK for game against Crystal Palace. If not, one potential replacement is Jon Walters who returned following minor knee surgery. The Republic of Ireland international played more than half an hour on his comeback having missed the last four games.

Gerard Deulofeu has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after suffering a knee injury in training on Friday.

Roberto Martinez confirmed Deulofeu had damaged knee ligaments last week during the build-up to the Bournemouth game: "He is out for the season. On Friday he got a knock on his knee. He doesn’t need an operation, it’s a medial ligament grade one tear." Deulofeu has struggled to hold down a starting place since the turn of year having finished 2015 strongly. The Spanish winger enjoyed a fruitful partnership with Romelu Lukaku and directly contributed to nine goals between September and December. But his form faltered in 2016 -- just one assist – from five Premier League starts as the emergence of Aaron Lennon pushed the 22-year-old down the pecking order.

Sadio Mane scored a hat trick after Shane Long opened the scoring and Southampton beat Manchester City 4-2.

Manchester City rested Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany and were without the injured David Silva. The Saints took advantage and scored four against the Champions League semi-finalists. The win doesn't mean much for the Saints but it strengthens Arsenal's position in third and makes the race for fourth an exclusively Manchester affair.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored on either side of halftime but it wasn't nearly enough as City fell 4-2 at St. Mary's.

City rested a number of starters ahead of the second leg of their Champions League semi-final in Madrid in mid-week. Academy product Iheanacho tried his best to keep City moving forward in the race for a Champions League place for next season but he was outdone by Sadio Mane and his hat trick.

The decision to leave Ryan Bennett out of the team sheet may have boggled fans and fantasy managers alike, but Alex Neil confirmed there was ample reason.

The Norwich City manager said Bennett had been sick in the week leading up to Saturday's 1-0 loss to Arsenal, and, despite training on Friday, wasn't available to face the Gunners: "We were hoping he was going to be involved. He did a bit of training on Friday, the first he'd done in a week, but he took a bad reaction when we were trying to get him ready, and he wasn't ready." Without Bennett, the Canaries defense held up fairly well with Sebastien Bassong paired up with Russell Martin while Ivo Pinto started at right back in the absence of Andre Wisdom and Timm Klose.

Danny Drinkwater can consider himself a little fortunate despite his sending off at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Drinkwater picked up his second booking of the game on 86 minutes as he hauled Memphis Depay back to give away a free-kick on the edge of the Leicester penalty area. However, it could’ve been a lot more if referee Michael Oliver had deemed that the foul had taken place inside the 18-yard area. The Foxes survived the resultant Rooney free-kick and with it earned themselves a 1-1 draw to edge closer to their first Premier League title. Andy King is expected to face Everton at the King Power next weekend while Jamie Vardy will return to the squad following his suspension.

Anthony Martial scored in the 8th minute from an Antonio Valencia cross and Manchester United held the Foxes from securing the title at Old Trafford with a 1-1 draw.

United were in search of points of their own as they look to chase down Arsenal and/or Manchester City for fourth and a spot in next season's Champions League. Martial, United's best attacker all season did the business and United limited Leicester City to a single Wes Morgan goal for the final 1-1 score.

Wes Morgan scored a Danny Drinkwater free kick to equalize at Old Trafford in the 17th minute of the 1-1 draw.

Morgan is not particularly known for his goal-scoring but he is earning his captaincy with goals down the stretch as Leicester drive for the title. Provider Drinkwater was sent off late for a second yellow card so the Foxes will play Week 37 with Jamie Vardy back but Danny Drinkwater absent.

Per Mertesacker may have kicked his last ball for Arsenal after the defender limped off during Saturdays’ game against Norwich.

Mertesacker slipped under pressure from a Norwich player during the opening exchanges of the second half and immediately grabbed his hamstring before signalling to the bench. The big German was making only his third Premier League start since early March having fallen out of favour, but this latest setback could bring an early end to his campaign. Gabriel looks set to partner Laurent Koscielny in the heart of the Arsenal defence for their two remaining league games. Mertesacker has been linked with a move away from the Emirates and could end his five-year association with the club this summer.

Andre Ayew collected his first Premier League brace as a well-oiled Swansea attack saw them topple Liverpool, 3-1.

It was all Swansea all day in a rainy afternoon at the Liberty Stadium. After steady pressure from the opening whistle, they broke through in the 20th minute when Ayew headed home from a Gylfi Sigurdsson corner. In the 33rd minute, Jack Cork carried the ball to the edge of the area and curled a beauty into the corner of the net. The Reds would pull one back in the second half but it only took two minutes for Swansea to cancel it out when Liverpool failed to clear a Jefferson Montero cross and Ayew pounced on the ball, squeezing it inside the post. Swansea were probably safe from relegation already, but today's win seals their fate and they were long overdue for a convincing performance like they had today.

Jurgen Klopp rang in the changes once again for Liverpool following their Europa League match on Thursday, but today's recipe fell flat in a 3-1 loss to Swansea City.

While the Reds were able to find success a couple of weeks ago with a similar team sheet against AFC Bournemouth, the rotation plan was not prepared for a energized Swansea side. Teenager Pedro Chirivella was handed his first league start and partnered Kevin Stewart as the deep lying midfielders to protect the back line. The Swans cut through them like a knife through hot butter. Chirivella was replaced to begin the second half, but by then it was too late. Christian Benteke scored a much-needed goal to bring the Reds back to within one, heading home a Seyi Ojo corner, but Liverpool would conceded again just two minutes later. A second yellow card and sending off of Brad Smith ended any hope of a comeback. Europa League is certainly top of mind for Liverpool and hopefully a result like today's will not dampen their spirits.
