Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be out for up to six months with a serious knee injury.

Another tough pill for Arsenal to swallow after an opening day nightmare at the Emirates. The young, talented English winger earned a start for Wenger's side and was a silver lining to an otherwise dismal outcome, providing the assist to their only goal. He looked to have been a nice budget out-of-position midfield option at just 6.6, but fantasy managers will need look elsewhere for now it would appear.

Manchester City's Joe Hart showed his very best form against Tottenham to ensure he remains the number one goalkeeper at the Etihad ahead of summer signing Willy Caballero.

Manuel Pellegrini managed Hart's drop in form perfectly last season by making the keeper fight for his place against Costel Pantilimon, and the summer signing of Caballero has seen the England keeper raise his game even further. Despite the lack of a clean sheet, Hart amassed a staggering 21 fantasy points against Spurs thanks to six saves - including the key penalty stop from Roberto Soldado - and deserved an equal measure of the plaudits handed out to four-goal hero Sergio Aguero. However, with Hart's price so high in the Yahoo game you'd need to feel supremely confident of a Manchester City clean sheet to select him in your starting XI over the far cheaper Thibaut Courtois or Fraser Forster.

Damien Delaney will be suspended for one game after picking up a red card in Week 8.

Delaney was sent off for two yellow card offences towards the end of the first half of Palace's defeat against Chelsea, and will miss the league game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 25 October. Delaney's absence will likely mean a start for Adrian Mariappa alongside Brede Hangeland, unless Scott Dann can recover from the injury which kept him out of the Chelsea match.

Ryan Mason was impressive again as he made his third consecutive Premier League start against Manchester City.

Mason has come from nowhere to become a key member of Maurico Pochettino's first team in the past month, and there are signs that the midfielder could be a useful fantasy asset. The 21-year-old is playing a central role in front of Etienne Capoue, dictating the pace of Tottenham's attacks and getting himself in to the box on regular occasions, as well as showing an aptitude for breaking up the opposition. Two shots on target and a bunch of tackles and interceptions brought 12 fantasy points against Manchester City (despite being on the end of a 4-1 defeat), so we'll be monitoring his form moving forward to determine whether he can be added to the "bargain" category of midfielders to consider each week. Mason is priced at less than £4million in the Yahoo game.

Queens Park Rangers are not only losing points but players as well with midfielder Sandro adding his name to the ever-growing list of first team squad members currently unavailable.

The talented acquisition signed during the close season has the potential to play at the very highest level but keeping Sandro fit is becoming a near impossible task after a groin injury forced his early withdrawal on Sunday – the latest in a long line of niggling problems [calf / knee / hip]. Redknapp bought wisely in the summer and with a limited budget he needed his big money buys to hit the ground running but injury is threatening to derail his season. The QPR coach has seen the likes of Jordon Mutch [hamstring] and Leroy Fer struggle to maintain fitness as well as influential skipper Joey Barton. In addition consider Kranjcar [toe], Green [tonsillitis], Onuoha [hamstring] as well as long-term victims Faurlin and Jenas [both ACL] and it’s easy to see why Redknapp is already facing an uphill task to keep his side in the division.

Harry Redknapp cut a forlorn figure post-match as his Queens Park Rangers team were left rueing a number of missed goal scoring opportunities to leave his side firmly planted to the bottom of the Premier League.

Having dominated the opening proceedings QPR failed to capitalise on their first half dominance and while the game remained level a misfiring Liverpool side were always in with a chance. Leroy Fer was culpable of at least two glorious chances – hitting the woodwork when it appeared easier to score – misses which ultimately condemned the Hoops to their sixth defeat in eight games. Redknapp was left distraught following what he described as "their best performance" under his stewardship with the manner of their loss [two injury time goals conceded] being a particularly bitter pill to swallow. However with Aston Villa at home next weekend QPR must dust themselves down and hope injuries to Nedum Onuoha [hamstring], Rio Ferdinand [groin] and Niko Kranjcar [toe] are not severe enough to keep them out of the crucial six-pointer.

Stoke City came from behind to win 2-1 over Swansea City, with the game-winner scored by substitute Jonathan Walters.

Fellow second half substitute Oussama Assaidi was equally important to the cause by delivering the cross that Walters would head home in the 76th minute. After conceding a penalty which led to them falling behind 0-1, Stoke were granted a penalty which Charlie Adam converted to level the match just before halftime. Mark Hughes' changes in the second half proved to be vital in grabbing all the points but now must figure out how to gameplan for a road clash with a Southampton side that just put a video game score up on Sunderland.

Wilfried Bony got Swansea City on the scoreboard first by converting a penalty near the game's half hour mark, but Stoke City would eventually score twice unanswered to come from behind and win 2-1.

Ryan Shawcross got charged with tackling Bony in the box and was issues a yellow card for his efforts. Bony then stepped up to take a penalty, one of several this gameweek, and converted. Stoke were given a penalty themselves to level the match, but the foul on Victor Moses looked more like a player going to ground on his own power. The call turned the tide in the match and Swansea would eventually concede the game-winner to the Potters. After a strong start to the season, the Swans are on a five game run without a win but will have a chance to break the streak next weekend at home against Leicester City.

Queens Park Rangers suffered a cruel defeat to the hands of Liverpool as two own goals would make the difference in a 2-3 loss to the Reds.

Rangers put in arguably their best performance of the season and were the better side for the vast majority of the match, but with the game still scoreless after the hour mark, Liverpool employed a bit of trickery by taking a quick free kick near the QPR box and Dunne helplessly tried to clear a low pass across the front of goal and guided it in. Rangers would manage to rebound not once, but twice, as substitute Eduardo Vargas notched his first two Premier League goals in short time, and it looked like a draw was on the horizon. Pool had one final breakaway though, and Steven Caulker was the goat in the second own goal that would leave Rangers with nary a point. The loss is so devastating, one has to wonder if there will be a shakeup at Loftus Road soon, they are firmly situated at the bottom of the table and relegation looks unavoidable without a significant change.

Liverpool were lucky to defeat Queens Park Rangers 2-3, as the hosts gifted the vistors two own goals, but the third Reds strike was a 90th minute beauty by Philippe Coutinho.

A lively match that ended in bizarre fashion, Liverpool escape with all the points despite a lackluster overall performance. Mario Balotelli was frustratingly ineffective all day, including missing a sitter that will surely be one of the top Vine videos of the week. Things began to noticeably change for the better when Coutinho came on, as the pace he and Raheem Sterling possess allowed them to run free into the area. His goal came on a counter-attack as he took a Steven Gerrard pass on the left, cut sharply inside, and smashed a low drive with pinpoint accuracy into the far corner. Until Sturridge comes back, having Coutinho and Sterling on the pitch together appears to be essential to the Reds attacking hopes.

Steve Bruce was left scratching his head in frustration after an injury time goal once again cost his Hull side three points in game week eight.

Having lost striker Nikica Jelavic to a knee injury during the pre-match warm-up Steve Bruce could’ve been forgiven for thinking that it wasn’t going to be his day – especially after Sanchez burst through to open the scoring on 13 minutes. However The Tigers quickly settled and although Mo Diame scored a controversial equaliser there was no denying the finish by Abel Hernandez moments after half-time to put Hull firmly in control. Michael Dawson was immense throughout but it was the loss of the defender to an ankle problem which helped Wenger grab a late point. The big centre-back had marshalled his troops well but his withdrawal coincided with an Arsenal onslaught culminating in a Welbeck goal a minute into added on time.

Steve Harper could be set for an extended spell on the sidelines if a scan next week confirms the former Newcastle United goalkeeper suffered a bicep rupture at the Emirates.

The aging stopper was in sparkling form on Saturday - belying his advancing years - with a string of top class saves to keep Hull in the game as Arsenal pushed hard to end the match as a contest during the first half. However moments before the 45 minutes played out Harper landed awkwardly as he scrambled down to make a save and immediately called to the sidelines for medical assistance. Harper – deputising for the injured Allan McGregor [shoulder] – could now face a number of months out if a grade three tear is confirmed meaning Steve Bruce may recall fourth choice goalkeeper Mark Oxley from his current loan spell at Hibernian.
