Sky Sports is reporting that Arsenal have bid for Newcastle United's French midfielder, Yohan Cabaye. Other sources on Twitter are quoting a 10-million pound bid, which the club will reject as "derisory".

Arsenal comes into the season with a thin squad made even thinner by injury. Cabaye would slot seamlessly into their midfield with Mikel Arteta out. It remains to be seen, however, if Arsenal will be able to match Newcastle's valuation of a player they are loathe to sell.

Celtic Football Club have announced that they have secured the signing of Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett on loan for the 2015-16 season.

Celtic, out of the Champions League group stages after a play-off loss and facing the departure of Virgil van Dijk, have moved to secure their central defense with the signing of Blackett from the Red Devils. Blackett was a surprise when injuries forced him into the starting line-up at Old Trafford sooner than anyone would ever have expected. With United's fitness likely better this season, the move to Celtic Park to get first team opportunities makes sense for everyone involved.

Raheem Sterling got his first goal for Manchester City from a Bacary Sagna assist as the league leaders beat Watford 2-0 at the Etihad.

It was a frustrating first half as City attacked but couldn't get off the mark with Sterling going close and other chances just not coming together. The second half started much differently with Sagna and Sterling hooking up within 90 seconds of the restart for City's first goal. Fernandinho followed-up not long afterward with his second of the season from a David Silva assist.

Heurelho Gomes and the Watford defense made a valiant effort for the first half but couldn't keep the City attack at bay for the entire 90 minutes and capitulated at the Etihad in Week 4 action.

Gomes was called upon frequently in the first half as Watford parked the bus in an attempt to frustrate Manchester City. It worked for 45 minutes as the teams went into halftime scoreless but it didn't last as Manchester City came storming out almost immediately after the second half kick-off. Bacary Sagna's cross put Raheem Sterling in and Gomes had no chance to stop him for the opener in the 47th minute. Fernandinho crushed a drive past Gomes in the 56th minute and that was the end of the scoring as City cruised to a 2-0 victory.

Ibrahim Afellay was baited into a sending-off offense and Charlie Adam followed as Stoke City lost at home to former manager Tony Pulis at the Britannia.

The scenes were reminiscent of Tony Pulis' tenure at Stoke City which were always characterized by uncompromising play that occasionally crossed the line into sendings off. Pulis would not be impressed with the weak slap that saw Afellay sent off but might have been at least a little more appreciative of Charlie Adam's hard-nosed play that went over the line. What he was most appreciative of was getting to play 11-9 for much of the match on his homecoming and picking up three points.

Salomon Rondon scored and Stoke City had two men sent off as Tony Pulis led his Baggies to victory at his old Stoke City stomping grounds.

That the Baggies weren't more prolific given that they were two men up for a significant chunk of the first half and all of the second half is a bit disappointing. What will be less disappointing is leaving the Britannia with three points against Tony Pulis' former club. Rondon's strike was quality regardless of the number of Potters still on the pitch and the Baggies head toward the transfer deadline with a little momentum hoping that they will retain Saido Berahino in addition to picking up the win this week.

Liverpool played poorly on both sides of the ball and went down to ten men when Phillipe Coutinho was given a second yellow card as they lost to West Ham 0-3.

This is one the Reds will want to forget as quickly as possible. Poor defending led to the first two Hammer goals, as Martin Skrtel failed to clear a ball effectively and Dejan Lovren simply gave the ball away to put the Hammers up 0-2 within the opening half hour. Early in the second half, Coutinho made a rash sliding tackle of Mark Noble and his second booking saw him off. The attack, outside of a 30 yard strike of the woodwork by Roberto Firmino in the early going, was dormant all day. The Reds will have a fortnight to get things right but no Coutinho in Week 5 will certainly hurt.

Bakary Sako scored and assisted on the way to earning Crystal Palace three points at Stamford Bridge.

Palace were the better team today and deservedly won 2-1. This is another embarrassing result for Chelsea, who can't keep anyone out at the moment and aren't scoring enough to be winning games. Jose Mourinho will certainly be upset, and changes could be coming to Chelsea's starting lineup next week. Despite Chelsea's struggles, Palace should feel proud for the great result they got at one of the hardest places to win the Premier League.

Having not won at Anfield since the 1960s, West Ham United did so today in convincing fashion with a 0-3 win over Liverpool.

A result a half-century in the making, the Hammers had it all go their way this afternoon in Merseyside. They went ahead early when Aaron Cresswell got hold of a poor clearance and found Manuel Lanzini in the box who poked it home. Near the half hour mark, the Hammers made it 0-2 when a Liverpool giveaway was pounced on and slotted home by Mark Noble. West Ham were on cruise control in the second half when they received a man advantage but Noble would draw a straight red for a tackle on Danny Ings to give the Reds a glimmer of hope. A third goal in the final moments by Diafra Sakho put the icing on the cake for the Hammers instead. We await the suspension length for Noble but plan on seeing Reece Oxford fill in in the meantime.

Callum Wilson scored a spectacular overhead goal, building off his hat trick last weekend, but AFC Bourenmouth would concede late and settle for a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

The good news - Wilson seems to be relishing his chance in the top flight after he and the Cherries were kept quiet in the first two weeks. A Charlie Daniels cross into the box was headed by Max Gradel and deflected in reach of Wilson who smashed it in with the always eye-pleasing overhead. The bad news - Tyrone Mings was introduced in the second half and not long into his appearance, he suffered a severe leg injury that required him to be stretchered off. Then, with about a quarter hour to go, Max Gradel had to limp off. AFC Bouremouth might be regretting letting a lead go at hope and dropping two points at some point down the road, but for now they are more concerned about the health of two key players.

Jamie Vardy drew a penalty late in the match and converted it to allow Leicester City to escape their trip to AFC Bournemouth with a 1-1 draw.

The Foxes did not get any heroics from Riyad Mahrez today and without his finishing form, it was looking like they were headed for their first loss of the season, down 0-1 with five minutes to go. It was then that Vardy, who never seems to tire as a match wears on, got on the ball with a burst of speed and Steve Cook felt there was little to do other than trip the quick man up. Vardy took the chance himself and nailed it to take a point away from their road trip.

Totteham put in a quality performance but could not find the net despite creating several chances, coming away with only a point against Everton in a 0-0 final.

Frustration mounts at White Hart Lane though it cannot be attributed to poor play as Spurs gave the Toffee defense plenty of problems consistently through 90 minutes, but the finishing product was filled with shots missing the target or being saved by Tim Howard. The Spurs defense was sharp, looking especially hard to break down with Eric Dier and Nabil Bentaleb partnering in central midfield, with the return of Danny Rose offering that extra attacking edge. It's not panic time yet for Tottenham, but they need Christian Eriksen back and a bit of luck on their side.
