White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Sunday that Orlando Hudson will play primarily at the hot corner.

Hudson agreed to a deal with the White Sox on Saturday and is expected to join up with the team Tuesday. "(Third base is) probably more of where he would play with Gordon (Beckham) being at second," Ventura told reporters. "He might be able to fill in there later, give (Beckham) a day off here or there." Brent Morel is headed to the disabled list with a bulging disk in his back.

Jesse Litsch told Sportsnet's Barry Davis that his shoulder infection has become "career threatening."

The infection developed around Litsch's surgical wound in March and has only gotten worse despite efforts (including a second procedure) to correct it. He's on the 60-day disabled list and remains out indefinitely. The 27-year-old has a 4.16 ERA in 88 career appearances.

Juan Uribe (wrist) has already been cleared to resume baseball-related activities.

Uribe was placed on the 15-day disabled list just one week ago with soreness in his left wrist. An MRI taken Sunday showed no structural damage and he's expected to begin full workouts Monday. The veteran infielder should be back in action by late May or early June.

According to Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Lance Berkman has a torn right ACL.

Berkman is undergoing an MRI in St. Louis on Monday to ensure that the diagnosis is correct. It's a tough blow to the Cardinals, who gave the 36-year-old first baseman a one-year, $12 million contract late last year. And it's also a tough blow for Berkman himself, as he may be forced into an early retirement. Matt Adams has taken over at first base for the defending World Series champs.

Vernon Wells (thumb) and Ryan Langerhans (separated right shoulder) are both likely to be placed on the disabled list, Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Sunday.

Neither player flew to Oakland, another indication that several roster moves are coming. Wells hurts his thumb during a stolen base attempt Sunday and Langerhans hurt his shoulder running into a wall chasing a John Baker double. Unfortunately for the Angels, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez confirmed that Torii Hunter will not be back with the club Monday. The Angels used 21 players in their 13-inning loss to San Diego Sunday, partly because of the length of the game, and partly because Hunter and Langerhans hurt themselves. Stay tuned for a slew of roster moves out of LA.
May 20 - 9:14 PM

Stephen Strasburg left Sunday's win against the Orioles after five innings due to biceps tightness.

Nationals manager Davey Johnson didn't appear concerned about the injury and said Strasburg should make his next start. Because of the phenom's injury history, Washington understandably used caution when Strasburg mentioned arm fatigue. "The bicep is fine," Strasburg said. "Starting out, I threw a lot of pitches early and then we put up a lot of runs. I got a little tired. [The bicep] got a little tight. It's nothing different than any other outing. It's probably gonna be like this for the rest of the year. It's all part of coming back from Tommy John [surgery]. It's something I have to be smart about." Strasburg held Baltimore to three runs -- one earned -- and struck out eight while hitting his first career home run.

Mark Teixeira (inflamed bronchial airways) returned to the field Sunday after missing three starts.

Pinch-hitting for Eric Chavez in the ninth and facing Aroldis Chapman, Teixeira reached first on Wilson Valdez's throwing error. He was then pulled for a pinch-runner. Both Teixeira and skipper Joe Girardi said the veteran would start on Monday. "Not 100 percent, obviously, but I think it did some good and I'm looking forward to playing tomorrow," Teixeira said. "I think at this point we know we're going to have to deal with it for a little while. The days off definitely helped, and we'll see how it goes tomorrow, but I'm just going to have to play through a little discomfort for a while." Teixeira has been battling the issue all season. You can safely get him back into your weekly lineup.
May 20 - 6:33 PM

Jonathan Lucroy led the way as the Brewers decked the Twins 16-4 on Sunday, going 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and seven RBI.

Lucroy tagged Jason Marquis for a solo shot in the first before singling home two runs in the second and slugging a seventh inning grand slam off of Jeff Gray. The seven RBI were a new career high for Milwaukee's .342/.389/.550 hitting catcher. Lucroy won't keep hitting .342, but has the skills to hold a .300 average.

According to ESPN's Buster Olney, Lance Berkman is concerned that he has suffered a significant knee injury.

Placed on the DL on Sunday, Berkman previously said he probably injured his right meniscus rather than his ACL, stating that the injury he suffered Saturday felt different than when he tore his ACL back in 2005 during a flag football game. Big Puma will get an MRI on Monday and we'll have a firm idea of his prognosis at that time. Matt Adams is in line for starts in his absence and should be owned in all leagues.
May 20 - 5:46 PM

Stephen Strasburg held the Orioles to three runs (one earned) in five innings of Sunday's 9-3 win, striking out eight and hitting his first career home run in the process.

Strasburg settled down after allowing three runs in his first two innings of work. Curiously, he was pulled after throwing only 90 pitches. He finished his day at the plate 2-for-2 with two runs scored, bringing his season average to .375. He'll bring a 2.21 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and sparkling 64/13 K/BB ratio into his weekend start in Atlanta.
May 20 - 5:10 PM

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Sunday that a doctor told him that Mark Ellis' left leg might have needed amputation if they had waited four or five more hours to make a cut to relieve pressure.

Scary stuff. Ellis underwent a fasciotomy for a serious condition that was discovered earlier Saturday. He will miss at least six weeks of game action, which is small potatoes compared to what Mattingly was informed. Justin Sellers and Elian Herrera will likely split time at second base for now.
May 20 - 5:05 PM

Bryce Harper had perhaps the best game of his young career in Sunday's win over the Orioles, going 2-for-4 with a triple, walk, two RBI and three runs scored.

All that was missing was Harper's second stolen base. Everyone's favorite phenom (well, maybe not Cole Hamels') is now batting .244/.333/.449 through his first 21 games, and though he's struggled at times, he's managed to avoid prolonged slumps. Here to stay for the Nationals, it also appears Harper is here to stay in redraft mixed leagues.
