Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline tweets that Alabama T Jonah Williams is getting second-round grades by scouts.

Pauline has been pumping the brakes on top-10 talk for Williams (6'5/301) after speaking with numerous NFL scouts, and he's taken it a step further after speaking with scouts at Shrine practices. The reason why his stock is falling is due to debates whether he can play tackle or if he'll need to kick inside. Playing tackle has always been more valuable, and the NFL is reportedly 50/50 on if he can remain playing outside.

Arkansas received a verbal commitment from four-star 2019 S Jalen Catalon.

Catalon had a final four of Texas, TCU, Oklahoma and Arkansas, and it's the Razorbacks who ultimately will land the signature -- assuming he hasn't signed already. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound safety is considered one of the best playmakers in the class at the free safety position, and he should have a chance to compete for immediate playing time with Arkansas. Prior to the commitment of Catalon, the Razorbacks class ranked 22nd in 247 Sports list, and that assuredly will go up with this addition.

Football Scoop reports that Joe Moglia is stepping down as HC at Coastal Carolina.

Football Scoop also reports that Coastal Carolina will promote Jamey Chadwell to be the new head coach, and Moglia will stick around the program as an administrator. The 69-year-old was in charge of bringing the Chanticleers from FCS to the Sun Belt and went 56-22 record in six seasons. He lead CCU to a 5-7 record in 2018.

Redshirt freshman RB Brian Snead will not return to Ohio State.

Snead (5'11/208) was a big part of the Ohio State 2018 class, and ranked third overall at the running back position in 247 Sports composite rankings. The tailback played in the first two games of the year, but didn't appear again and was reportedly suspended for six games for violating a team rule. Assuming he transfers to an FBS program, he'll have to sit out 2020, but he'll have three more years of eligibility left. This could be a big get for another program.

Wisconsin extended the contract of HC Paul Chryst through the 2023 season.

Chryst gets the extension despite what can only be described as a disappointing season for the Badgers; going 8-5 on the year and 5-4 in conference. The overall body of work for Chryst has been solid, however, and it's reasonable to expect a bounceback season with more consistent quarterback play in 2019. Chryst has an overall record of 42-12 with Wisconsin, and he's 4-0 in bowl games.

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reports that Indiana is hiring Fresno State OC Kalen DeBoer to serve in the same capacity.

An excellent hire -- on paper, anyway -- by the Hoosiers. Most of the credit goes to Jeff Tedford and the Fresno State defense for the Bulldogs impressive turnaround, but DeBoer has deservedly become a rising star in the coaching industry. He won three national championships as head coach at NAIA Sioux Falls from 2006-2009 with a 67-3 record, and he's had success as an OC for Southern Illinois, Eastern Michigan and Fresno State. This could be a future NCAA head coach, but first he'll test his merit against Big Ten defenses.

Auburn five-star 2019 verbal WR commit George Pickens is taking an official visit to Georgia this weekend.

Pickens (6'4/190) has been in Auburn's corner since the summer of 2017, but despite the longstanding nature of his pledge, his recruitment still has some loose ends. Georgia has charged out of the dead period with guns blazing, paying the Hoover, Alabama, native an in-home visit and now landing an official visit. Tennessee is another program to watch as National Signing Day approaches on the horizon, likewise LSU. Rivals analyst Chad Simmons goes so far as to call Pickens' sticking with Auburn a 50/50 proposition. His outlet ranks the wideout as the No. 7 overall prospect in the 2019 class.

Northern Illinois hired Baltimore Ravens RB coach Thomas Hammock to serve as head coach.

With Rod Carey leaving for the lead job at Temple earlier this month, the Huskies opted to look toward the pro ranks for their next head coach. Hammock (who played his college ball at NIU) has been working as running backs coach with the Ravens for the past five seasons. While he is not without FBS coaching experience -- he has worked as RB coach with Wisconsin (2011-13), Minnesota (2007-10) and in an earlier stint at NIU (2005-06) -- Hammock has never worked beyond his traditional position group.

Wyoming DT Youhanna Ghaifan was among the 135 early-entrant names officially released by the NFL on Friday.

The Athletic's Dane Brugler referred to Ghaifan as the lone "surprise name" on the NFL's official list. The 6-foot-4, 282-pounder's collegiate career came to an unfortunate close after he was arrested in October and charged with misdemeanor false imprisonment and harassment. In a plea deal, he copped to the harassment charge, with the false imprisonment one dropped. So long as he adheres to the agreed upon parameters of the plea deal, he will no longer be facing any charges after July 5. Obviously, this case will be one which is combed over by interested NFL parties, but on a pure talent level, Ghaifan intrigues. He was a first-team All-Mountain West performer during the 2017 season, recording 69 tackles (15.5 for loss), seven sacks and a pair of fumbles forced across 12 games played. Brugler notes that Ghaifan possesses "impressive lateral quickness, flexibility and pursuit."

Miami redshirt sophomore QB Tate Martell has hired Arizona lawyer Travis Leach to handle his waiver request for immediate eligibility from the NCAA.

Just what footing Martell has for immediate eligibility is somewhat unclear, and Leach's strategy of "you try to throw as much against the wall as you can" (his words) doesn't exactly instill confidence. The Martell-Leach team are trying at least in part to argue that OSU HC Urban Meyer's abrupt retirement and the subsequent changes on staff were enough to warrant the quarterback's transfer and request for immediate eligibility. An interesting wrinkle, here, is that there have been reports that Martell might actually be on track to graduate in the spring, which would make the waiver unnecessary altogether. We'll keep tabs on all of this until it sorts itself out. Incumbent signal-callers N'Kosi Perry and Jarren Williams are both expected to stick with the Hurricanes regardless of how Martell's case resolves.

The Athletic's Max Olson reports that Iowa State will hire Indianapolis Colts TE coach Tom Manning to serve as offensive coordinator.

Reunited and it feels so good. Manning had been Iowa State's OC from 2016-17, but vacated that post to take the Colts gig following the 2017 campaign. With him out the door, the Cyclones opted to roll sans an official OC for the past campaign. Manning has all kinds of experience coaching alongside Cyclones HC Matt Campbell, having first done so back in 2012, at Toledo. The two also played ball together at Mount Union.

247Sports' Tom Loy reports that Cincinnati OC Mike Denbrock should be considered a "name to watch" in Kansas' search for a new offensive coordinator.

Kansas lost OC Chip Lindsey to Troy when the head-coaching position opened up with the Trojans earlier this winter. Sights now set on Denbrock? Loy writes that the Cincy OC is "very much coveted by those in Lawrence and the higher-ups are working hard to get him on campus for an in-person interview." As you might gather from that quote, nothing is imminent at this juncture. While Cincinnati's offense wasn't exactly Oklahoma this past season, the Bearcats pieced together a fantastic rushing attack under Denbrock's watchful eye in 2018, led by breakout star Michael Warren. They wrapped the campaign averaging 34.9 points per game. Pitt and Utah State both reportedly sniffed around Denbrock earlier this offseason before moving in other directions.
