CBS Sports draft analyst Dane Brugler considers RB Andre Ellington Clemson's top draft-eligible prospect.

Brugler singles out Ellington's explosive lateral burst in short areas and improved vision to avoid tacklers. After eclipsing 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns last season, Ellington underwent minor ankle surgery in April but is not expected to miss any time. He is not going to break a large amount of tackles, but Ellington could excel in a one cut, zone heavy blocking scheme. His breakaway speed is outstanding.

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah believes Texas A&M redshirt sophomore QB Johnny Manziel's footwork needs a lot of polish.

Jeremiah did admit that Manziel is "pretty freaking fun to watch on tape!" and added he is "one of the most creative players I've studied." Manziel shines on broken plays, where he is able to improvise and keep the defense guessing, but it will be interesting to read evaluations for the next year or two.

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler wonders if senior RB Charles Sims' departure has something to do with the Supplemental Draft.

"It remains speculation at this time why Sims has decided to leave the program, but if ruled ineligible for whatever reason he would have the option of entering the 2013 NFL Supplemental Draft this summer," Brugler writes. Sims has already graduated from Houston, so he will be eligible to play for another program during the 2013 season.

Draft insider Tony Pauline believes Buffalo LB Khalil Mack has a chance to be a top 45 selection.

Pauline noted the early selection might happen if Mack's height, weight, and speed check following a good performance during the upcoming 2013. He's a talented stand up rusher or conventional outside linebacker, but Mack does have some off-field issues on his record which could impact his evaluation.

Scouts Inc.'s Todd McShay believes Florida junior CB Loucheiz Purifoy needs to add strength and improve in off coverage.

However, McShay thinks the Florida defender "has feet, balance, hips, (and) instincts to become (a) top-tier NFL corner." He went on to add all three of the Gators' corners could be drafted. McShay's counterpart, Mel Kiper, listed Purifoy as the No. 10 overall prospect heading into the 2013 season.

Bench chose USF over Mississippi State, and will reportedly have a chance to win the starting job this season. "I want to get my face in the play book and get ready to go," Bench said. Georgia sophomore TE Ty Flournoy-Smith is transferring.

The rising sophomore avoided a redshirt season last year due to the lack of depth at the position, but it obviously wasn't enough. Head coach Mark Richt said Flournoy-Smith will likely go to a junior college and has talked to Georgia Military College. He also left the door open for a possible return after the JUCO stint. The tight end was arrested in February for the misdemeanor charge of filing a false report of a crime.

Houston senior RB Charles Sims will transfer, according to Rob Sellers of Rivals.

Sims is an extremely talented runner and was poised for a great final season, so this news comes as a surprise. He led Houston with 851 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns to go along with 37 receptions for 373 yards and three touchdowns. Sims will certainly have plenty of options in terms of landing spots. He has already graduated, so Sims will be eligible to play in 2013.

Kent State senior RB/WR Dri Archer clocked an electronically timed 4.29 forty.

He checked in at No. 7 on CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman's "Freak List," with only two receivers or running backs listed ahead of him. "Despite his diminutive frame, Archer still ran for 1,429 yards and 16 TDs, with a 9-yard average per carry," Feldman writes. "In eight games Archer had at least one run of 43 yards or longer."
