Majority of WR Woods' work is inside 10 yards

More than 70 percent of USC junior WR Robert Woods' receptions and over 50 percent of his receiving yards occurred on passes that traveled ten yards or less.

ESPN's K.C. Joyner calls Woods an "explosive possession receiver" and his skills fit exactly what the Trojans like to do on offense. Woods makes a living on underneath routes opposite vertical threat Marqise Lee, while converting short throws into longer gains. He finished last season 111 receptions for 1,292 yards and 15 touchdowns. Many have already declared Woods the top draft-eligible wide receiver, but we think he is a future number two target in the NFL and ranks behind Tennessee junior Justin Hunter and California junior Keenan Allen.

Wes Lunt visiting Louisville early next week

Former Oklahoma State sophomore QB Wes Lunt will visit Louisville early next week.

Jeremy Rauch of ABC 20 in Illinois notes that there has been no word on if Lunt will appeal any "blocked" schools, including ones in the Big 12, SEC, and Pac-12, along with Southern Miss and Central Michigan. Louisville and Illinois appear to be the favorites at this time.

Georgia TE Flournoy-Smith is transferring

Georgia sophomore TE Ty Flournoy-Smith is transferring.

The rising sophomore avoided a redshirt season last year due to the lack of depth at the position, but it obviously wasn't enough. Head coach Mark Richt said Flournoy-Smith will likely go to a junior college and has talked to Georgia Military College. He also left the door open for a possible return after the JUCO stint. The tight end was arrested in February for the misdemeanor charge of filing a false report of a crime.

Miami (OH) WR Harwell headed to Kansas

Former Miami (OH) WR Nick Harwell will transfer to Kansas.

Harwell was suspended from the team after being arrested, and he was not expected back this season. The fourth year senior was the school's best wide receiver, however, there were times where his hands were very inconsistent. Head coach Charlie Weis was optimistic that Harwell would be eligible for the 2013 season.

Shocker: Houston RB Charles Sims to transfer

Houston senior RB Charles Sims will transfer, according to Rob Sellers of Rivals.

Sims is an extremely talented runner and was poised for a great final season, so this news comes as a surprise. He led Houston with 851 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns to go along with 37 receptions for 373 yards and three touchdowns. Sims will certainly have plenty of options in terms of landing spots. He has already graduated, so Sims will be eligible to play in 2013.

Archer runs electronically timed 4.29 forty

Kent State senior RB/WR Dri Archer clocked an electronically timed 4.29 forty.

He checked in at No. 7 on CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman's "Freak List," with only two receivers or running backs listed ahead of him. "Despite his diminutive frame, Archer still ran for 1,429 yards and 16 TDs, with a 9-yard average per carry," Feldman writes. "In eight games Archer had at least one run of 43 yards or longer."

Feldman: Good chance WR Lee sees D snaps

CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman writes "there's a good chance" USC junior WR Marqise Lee will see snaps on defense this season.

There was talk of Lee attempting to convince coaches to allow him to play some cornerback last season. The vertical receiver ranks No. 5 on Feldman's "Freak List." USC receiver coach Tee Martin added "He's gotta be in the top five of the most freakish athletes I've ever been around."

Barr: I will be able to play faster in 2013

UCLA senior OLB Anthony Barr expects to play faster in 2013.

"I’m able to play a lot faster because I understand the defense, my assignments," Barr said. That is scary. The Bruin pass rusher has a limited amount of pass rushing experience, but his ability to bend around the edge and consistent closing speed will put his name firmly in the early first-round discussion.

Hageman checks in at No. 2 on 'Freaks List'

Minnesota senior DL Ra'Shede Hageman checks in at No. 2 on CBS Sports college football writer Bruce Feldman's "Freak List."

"Not only does he have the 36-inch vert, but he also has bench-pressed 465 pounds and clocked an electronically timed 10-yard sprint in 1.57 seconds," Feldman writes. That 10 yard split would be .07 faster than Terron Armstead's time, and not defensive tackle jumped higher than 33 inches during this year's Combine. His frame translates very well to a five technique end spot in a three man front.

C Swanson's mobility mentioned w/ Joe Thomas'

Arkansas strength coach Ben Herbert, who spent time at Wisconsin, said senior C Travis Swanson's mobility is impressive.

"His movement ability is second only to (Cleveland Browns All-Pro left tackle) Joe Thomas out of linemen that I have worked with in the last 12 years," said Herbert. Swanson reportedly ran a three-cone time of 7.39 seconds, which is important for the center spot. In terms of Combine tests, our own Josh Norris believes the 20 yard shuttle is a better predictor of future success.

Schad: QB Bench to decide between Miss St/USF

ESPN's Joe Schad reports former Penn State sophomore QB Steven Bench will decide between USF and Mississippi State.

Bench has already visited USF and will travel to Mississippi State on Tuesday and Wednesday. Due to NCAA punishments handed down to Penn State, Bench will be eligible to play for either school immediately.

Bruins DE Odighizuwa could play week one

UCLA DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa's hip injury is not as serious as initially expected, and the senior has a chance to play in the school's opener against Nevada.

Initial reports stated Odighizuwa "had a torn rotator cuff in his hip, but it now appears the hip was just "frayed," which means a recovery time of just two to three months," per CBS Sports. Odighizuwa had been considered the replacement for NFL-bound defensive lineman Datone Jones.
