Despite not being the preseason favorite to win the job, USC junior De'Von Flournoy has claimed the third WR spot for the Trojans.

Flournoy has been added by injuries to sophomore George Farmer and a lack of progression from freshman Nelson Agholor. But, despite never registering a reception in his collegiate career, Flournoy lined up with the starters during spring workouts while Robert Woods was sidelined with an injury. During that time, the junior lined up at all three receiver spots, so he is not limited to one position once touching the field.

Arkansas strength coach Ben Herbert, who spent time at Wisconsin, said senior C Travis Swanson's mobility is impressive.

"His movement ability is second only to (Cleveland Browns All-Pro left tackle) Joe Thomas out of linemen that I have worked with in the last 12 years," said Herbert. Swanson reportedly ran a three-cone time of 7.39 seconds, which is important for the center spot. In terms of Combine tests, our own Josh Norris believes the 20 yard shuttle is a better predictor of future success.

ESPN's Joe Schad reports former Penn State sophomore QB Steven Bench will decide between USF and Mississippi State.

Bench has already visited USF and will travel to Mississippi State on Tuesday and Wednesday. Due to NCAA punishments handed down to Penn State, Bench will be eligible to play for either school immediately.

UCLA DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa's hip injury is not as serious as initially expected, and the senior has a chance to play in the school's opener against Nevada.

Initial reports stated Odighizuwa "had a torn rotator cuff in his hip, but it now appears the hip was just "frayed," which means a recovery time of just two to three months," per CBS Sports. Odighizuwa had been considered the replacement for NFL-bound defensive lineman Datone Jones.

Former Arkansas senior QB/WR Brandon Mitchell will enroll at NC State for his final season of eligibility.

"I felt I built it with players in just three days," Mitchell told ESPN's Joe Schad. "Bottom line is I want to win, and I want to win now. They have the best opportunity there for success and just had one missing piece." Mitchell joins former Florida quarterback Jacoby Brissett as recent transfers for the Wolfpack.

ESPN's Joe Schad reports former Oklahoma State sophomore QB Wes Lunt visited Illinois late last week and "is sincerely considering transferring there."

"Lunt is considering Illinois because he grew up an Illini fan and he believes the spread offense operated by offensive coordinator Bill Cubit is a good fit," Schad writes. Reports surfaced last week that Oklahoma State has blocked Lunt from transferring to Big 12 and SEC schools, along with Southern Miss. Schad adds that the Pac-12 and Central Michigan are also prohibited.

ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper ranks Texas A&M redshirt sophomore Mike Evans as the No. 3 overall WR for the 2014 draft.

"A big-time matchup problem, Evans has the length of an NFL tight end, and maybe even a bigger catch radius, because he has long arms on a 6-5 frame," Kiper writes. "The question for Evans will be if he can show enough quick-twitch explosiveness and strength to beat jams and the straight-line speed to beat defenders over the top."

Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl thinks evaluators should "get to know" Oregon State redshirt junior DE Scott Crichton.

"Tone setter," Wiedl tweeted. "Strong, powerful and relentless. Wins outside and inside. Impressive tape." Weidl went on to praise Crichton's active and heavy hands. "Strong understanding of leverage points. Can generates pressure as pass rusher in multiple ways." He recorded 17.5 tackles for loss, including nine sacks, in 2012.

CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman reports former Texas Tech junior DT Delvon Simmons will visit USC on Sunday.

Simmons is a former five star recruit and started every game in 2012, registering six tackles for loss, including two sacks. The Trojans are fairly young at the position, with future NFL prospects like George Uko and Leonard Williams leading the way, but that won't stop them from potentially adding Simmons to their roster.

Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl believes evaluators should keep an eye out for Oregon State senior CB Rashaad Reynolds.

Reynolds "has popped on tape," Weidl tweeted. "Physical, instinctive and has ball production." Reynolds played alongside Jordan Poyer last season, who lacked outstanding physical skill but showed good awareness in a variety of coverages. The senior will start for the third straight year at the position.

Oklahoma State could be blocking sophomore QB Wes Lunt from transferring to Big 12 and SEC schools, along with Southern Miss, according to Jimmie Tramel.

Southern Miss has been the logical fit all along, since former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Todd Monken took over the head coach role there. Other potential destinations not among these possible blocked locations are Illinois and Louisville.

Boise State redshirt senior S Ebo Makinde ran a 4.24 forty during the team's spring testing.

The time was .04 faster than Makinde ran last year and obviously was the quickest on the roster. "Makinde was first in the three-cone drill and pro-agility test, second in the vertical jump and third in the broad jump," according to beat writer Chad Crippe.
