Iowa senior CB Micah Hyde was arrested early on Saturday morning on counts of public intoxication and interference with official acts.

Details have not been disclosed, but Hyde remained in jail as of 8:30 Saturday morning. The senior is a legitimate third-day selection in the 2013 Draft, especially since evaluators seem to favor Hawkeye prospects for their readiness and work ethic. Iowa is off this week and no announcement has been made regarding a possible suspension for Hyde.

Penn State redshirt junior QB Trace McSorley ran for three scores and 76 yards and passed for 282 yards and another score in a 42-13 route of Michigan on Saturday.

McSorley (6'0/195) struggled with accuracy in the first half, but really turned things on from the third quarter on, particularly with his legs. His three-yard score gave the Nittany Lions a 21-13 lead just before halftime, and his 13 and 9-yard scores in the second half all but put the Wolverines away. Even on a night where he didn't have his best accuracy, McSorley was able to make a difference. Ohio State comes next for he and Penn State.
Oct 21 - 11:10 PM

Penn State junior RB Saquon Barkley ran for 108 yards and two scores on 15 carries, and caught three passes for 53 yards and a score in a 42-13 destruction of Michigan on Saturday.

Barkley started out red hot, going over 100 yards in the first quarter and scoring twice from 69 and 15 yards, respectfully. From that point, Barkley was relatively held in check, but the damage had been done. He checked in with a 42-yard score in the passing game in the fourth from Trace McSorley to make it 35-13 Nittany Lions early in the fourth. Once again, Barkley looked like one of -- maybe even the -- best players in college football. Penn State has a must-see matchup next week against Ohio State.
Oct 21 - 11:03 PM

Kansas State redshirt sophomore Alex Delton completed 12-of-14 passes for 144 yards and a score, and ran 27 times for 142 yards and three scores in a 42-35 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday.

Delton (6'0/195) was starting in place of Jesse Ertz at quarterback, but you'd never know Delton was the backup watching him play on Saturday. Some of that had to do with Oklahoma's defense being not-so-great, but Delton was able to run past and through the Oklahoma front seven, and while he didn't throw the ball deep often, he was accurate and kept the chains moving. Delton will be behind center again for the Wildcats next week against the awful Kansas defense.
Oct 21 - 8:22 PM

Oklahoma senior QB Baker Mayfield completed 32-of-41 passes for 410 yards with a two touchdowns and interception, and ran for 69 yards and two scores in a thrilling 42-35 victory over Kansas State on Saturday.

This was a doozy of a football game. Mayfield and the Oklahoma offense struggled in the first-half, but were up to the task in the second against the Wildcats. He impressed with his legs, scoring from 16 and three yards out, respectfully. Even in a struggle in the first half, the 6-foot, 220-pound signal-caller showed his accuracy and ability to improvise. Expect another shootout for the Sooners and Mayfield next week against Texas Tech.
Oct 21 - 8:13 PM

Miami redshirt junior QB Malik Rosier completed 26-of-43 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 27-19 victory over Syracuse.

Rosier and the Hurricanes have made this down-to-the-wire win thing old hat. After knocking off Florida State and Georgia Tech the past two weeks on last-second plays, they held off a late charge by Syracuse to remain undefeated today. Miami (6-0, 4-0 ACC), sitting atop the ACC Coastal Division, has now won 11 straight games going back to last year. The Hurricanes travel to Chapel Hill next week to take on a bad North Carolina team. Two landmines remain on the schedule: Virginia Tech and Notre Dame. Luckily, both games are in Coral Gables.
Oct 21 - 7:52 PM

SMU redshirt junior Trey Quinn caught 17 passes for 186 yards in Saturday's 31-28 overtime win over Cincinnati.

Quinn has been flat-out brilliant this season, especially of late. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound redshirt junior has now logged at least 15 catches in each of his last three games. He's also surpassed 100 yards receiving in four of his last five games. Overall, Quinn is the owner of an immaculate 71-773-5 receiving line. Tulsa will attempt to slow him down next weekend.
Oct 21 - 7:52 PM

Mississippi State redshirt junior Nick Fitzgerald went 18-of-26 passing for 155 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 115 yards and two more scores in a dominating 45-7 win over Kentucky on Saturday.

Fitzgerald (6'5/230) has rushed for over 100 yards three times this year. The frame and athleticism are outstanding. NFL evaluators will continue to ponder whether he can be developed in the pocket. Fitzgerald's passing stats remain ho-hum, with a 54.9-percent completion percentage and 6.32 YPA coming into today. His 11/7 TD/INT rate is fine, but nothing special. As Lance Zierlein wrote last month: "He's big and fast, but I'm still not sold on him as a passer, and there are other evaluators who are still in wait-and-see mode with me as it pertains to his draft stock."
Oct 21 - 7:27 PM

Michigan State junior RB LJ Scott rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in Saturday's 17-9 win over Indiana.

Scott did not start the contest as punishment for his being arrested for driving on a suspended license for the seventh time on Wednesday. He has a valid license, now, and after he rode the pine at the beginning of the contest, he went on to take on his typical workload. His touchdown came on a patient 18-yard run to the right in the fourth quarter, one which gave Michigan State a 17-9 lead with under two minutes remaining. Scott has largely disappointed this season outside of a 194-yard performance against Minnesota last weekend, but will try to finish up strong as he heads toward a potential draft declaration this winter.
Oct 21 - 7:27 PM

UCF sophomore RB Adrian Killins rushed for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 15 carries in Saturday's 31-21 win over Navy.

Much of Killins' damage came courtesy of a 79-yard touchdown sprint in the third quarter, a score that broke a 14-14 tie. A home run threat waiting to happen, Killins is averaging nine yards a carry. He's surpassed 100 yards in three of the last five games.
Oct 21 - 7:05 PM

Central Michigan senior WR Corey Willis caught five passes for 98 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 56-9 win over Ball State.

Willis (5'10/175) missed four games with a broken hand before returning to action against Toledo last weekend. He caught just two passes for 12 yards in that one, but with the rust shaken off, the senior excelled versus Ball State on Saturday. His highlight catch came on a 63-yard touchdown grab midway through the third quarter to put the Chippewas up 35-9. Willis logged a 71-1087-9 receiving line last season and should be good for a strong finish to the campaign so long as he can stay healthy. Central Michigan will be off on bye next weekend, with their next game set to come against Western Michigan on Wednesday, November 1.
Oct 21 - 6:36 PM

Navy junior QB Zach Abey will miss the remainder of Saturday's game against UCF after sustaining a possible head injury.

Abey was taken to the locker room for evaluation after suffering the injury. While he later returned to the sideline, he did so out of pads. Garrett Lewis will finish out the contest for the Midshipmen. We'll have to wait and see as to the exact nature of Abey's injury concern.
