Georgia beat writer Seth Emerson believes senior S Bacarri Rambo has returned to last year's form.

Rambo missed the first four games of the season due to a suspension and struggled upon his return. Last year, Rambo earned plenty of national honors after finishing with eight interceptions, but we felt those statistics and titles outshone his actual skills. Still, we would feel comfortable with a team using a third- or fourth-round selection on Rambo.

Notre Dame HC Brian Kelly confirmed that senior LB Greer Martini (knee) would miss Saturday's USC game after undergoing a surgical procedure.

According to Indianapolis Star beat writer Laken Litman, Kelly "Feels confident [Martini will] be back for NC State." In other words, Kelly believes Martini can return after a one-game absence. Previously, Irish Illustrated reported that Martini could miss a month. Martini ranks third on the Irish with 39 tackles and leads the team with two forced fumbles. Junior Te’von Coney is expected to take his place in the starting lineup.

Memphis redshirt senior WR Anthony Miller caught 10 passes for 178 yards in a 42-38 victory over Houston on Thursday.

Miller (5'11/190) got off to a slow start like the rest of the Memphis offense, but was lights out in the second half. He didn't reach the end zone, but he and the rest of the Tiger wideouts set up several short-yardage scores for sophomore tailback Patrick Taylor Jr. Miller showed in the final 30 minutes why he has a chance to be one of the first wide receivers off the board this spring. He'll have another field day against New Mexico State next week.

Memphis redshirt senior QB Riley Ferguson threw for 471 yards and a touchdown on 33-of-53 passing in a 42-38 victory over Houston on Thursday.

To be blunt, Ferguson was awful in the first half, and his inaccuracy was very much responsible for the Tigers having a 17-0 deficit at halftime. From the start of the third quarter on, however, Ferguson was outstanding. He was able to connect with wideout Anthony Miller and playmaker Tony Pollard often in the second half, putting Memphis back in the game. His touchdown pass was a big one, a 21-yard strike to Sean Dykes to give the Tigers the game-winning score with just 1:28 left in the game. Ferguson and the Tigers will look to stay in the AAC race next week against Tulane.

Arkansas State redshirt junior QB Justice Hansen threw for 275 yards and ran for 120 more with three total touchdowns in a 47-3 thrashing of Louisiana-Lafayette.

Hansen (6'4/207) was everywhere for the Red Wolves on Thursday. Not only did he have the big passing and rushing totals, he also caught a 34-yard pass on a trick play. The Ragin Cajuns defense was putrid, and the talented all-purpose quarterback was able to use his size, speed and arm-strength to burn the front seven and secondary. Hansen should have another monster game against New Mexico State next week.

Arkansas redshirt freshman QB Cole Kelly is likely to earn his second-straight start on Saturday against Auburn.

Kelley would get the start in place of senior Austin Allen (shoulder) who is unlikely to play on Saturday. The 6-foot-7, 268-pound quarterback has completed 56 percent of his passes with four touchdowns and two interceptions.

Uncommitted four-star 2018 T Nicholas Petit-Frere is taking an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend.

Petit-Frere (6'6/272) will be drinking in the atmosphere in South Bend for this weekend's monster game against USC. The Irish will have several recruits on campus for that contest and a victory could go a ways toward locking up some pledges. Scout.com's No. 40 overall prospect in the 2018 class could use some added muscle, but that figures to come as he matures. He already boasts a fluid, tenacious mindset on the line. Florida, Alabama, Auburn and Ohio State are also vying for Petit-Frere's pledge, with the Gators considered the probable leader for the Tampa native come Signing Day.

Oregon State junior WR Seth Collins (health) has been ruled out indefinitely.

It's been a tough run for Collins over the last year-plus. He was hospitalized due to an illness last autumn and had a slow recovery from it, then found himself sidelined early in the current campaign with a finger injury. Now, a new undisclosed health concern. Searching for a silver lining, Oregon State is saying that his current indefinite absence is not related to last year's illness. Trevon Bradford figures to see the bulk of work out of the slot moving forward with Collins out. A medical redshirt could be in play if the junior is unable to take the field again this year.
Oct 19 - 6:22 PM

Purdue HC Jeff Brohm said that senior LB T.J. McCollum (undisclosed) is unlikely to play in Saturday's game against Rutgers.

McCollum (6'3/240) sat out this past weekend's loss to Wisconsin due to the injury. Entering that contest, the Western Kentucky transfer was leading the Boilermakers with 40 tackles (2.0 for loss) in five games. Garrett Hudson is in line to draw the start if McCollum can't play on Saturday.

Michigan State junior RB LJ Scott was arrested for driving on a suspended license on Wednesday.

Remarkably, this is Scott's seventh arrest relating to either a suspended license or his driving without a license at all. Michigan State has yet to issue a statement regarding the 6-foot-1, 230-pounder's Wednesday arrest and his status for Saturday's game against Indiana is currently unknown. We'll pass along updates as they become available. After a slow start to the season, Scott finally busted out in a big way against Minnesota this past weekend, rushing for 194 yards and two touchdowns.

Texas A&M HC Kevin Sumlin said that "things haven't changed" regarding freshman QB Kellen Mond's status as starting quarterback.

The return of Nick Starkel from a fractured ankle adds a wrinkle to the equation -- Starkel opened the season as starter -- but the Aggies have already embarked on the True Freshman Quarterback Experience with Mond and they aren't turning the car around. We think this is the smart move for Sumlin and crew. Mond is far from a polished passer, but he's shown respectable development as he's settled into the starting role and Texas A&M has worked its way out to a 5-2 start, 5-1 since their disastrous meltdown against UCLA to open the season.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Shandel Richardson reports that FAU redshirt senior WR Kalib Woods will make his season-debut in Saturday's game against North Texas.

Woods has been out on indefinite suspension for his role in an off-campus brawl in June, one which led to a pair of felony battery charges. The 6-foot-3, 193-pound redshirt senior notched a 68-934-1 receiving line last season and should provide a big boost to the Owls' passing game once he's shaken off the rust. FAU will be gunning for its first three-game winning streak since 2013 when they do battle with North Texas on Saturday.
