ESPN's Mel Kiper believes the Chiefs should select Notre Dame ILB Mant Te'o with the first overall selection, if they end up with it in April.

Kiper explains this decision by saying no top quarterback stands out at the top and the Chiefs do not need pass rushing help from the outside linebacker spot due to Tamba Hali and Justin Houston already being on the roster. We believe one of the quarterbacks will separate themselves during the pre-draft process, and also disagree that an inside linebacker should be selected in the top five.

Western Kentucky redshirt senior QB Brandon Doughty went 31-of-42 passing for 486 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions in a 49-48 win over Central Michigan in Wednesday's Bahamas Bowl.

You had to see the end to believe it. With 12 minutes remaining, WKU led 49-14. The Chippewas preceded to score 34 straight points, the last touchdown coming as time expired on a 75-yard Hail Mary that featured three laterals. CMU went for a two-point conversion and the win, and the Hilltoppers batted away a fade to escape. WKU head coach Jeff Brohm ended this dream season with two consecutive zany one-point wins and an 8-5 record. Doughty, who leads the nation with 4,830 passing yards and 49 touchdowns, was recently granted a sixth season of eligibility by the NCAA. The Hilltoppers will have once again have one of the nation's most prolific offenses in 2015.

Pittsburgh will name former Michigan State DC Pat Narduzzi head coach on Friday.‘s Joe Schad reported on Wednesday that Pitt and Narduzzi had finalized a contract, and the school announced it will conduct a 3:30 p.m. ET press conference Friday to "address its head football coaching vacancy." Narduzzi was the Big Ten's highest-paid coordinator this year and is a long-time HC candidate. He has spent the past 11 seasons on Mark Dantonio-led coaching staffs, three of those coming with Cincinnati.

FSU freshman RB Dalvin Cook is part of an active aggravated assault investigation as a result of an event that took place in July of 2014.

Cook has been identified as an associate of two men involved in the alleged assault who reportedly waved a firearm at the victim (Cook did not). Strictly speaking about on-field production, Cook has been a difference maker for the Seminoles this season and has earned more touches in the last two months because of it. He is able to create yards on his own, something FSU lacked earlier this season. FSU plays Oregon on Jan. 1.

Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl considers Ole Miss senior Senquez Golson a "solid sub-package nickel type."

Weidl mixes negatives with positives, which is what evaluations should be. Weidl brings up Golson's sub-5'10" height multiple times, specifically against Auburn, but "he generally plays bigger than measurables indicate." Then Golson's eyes and instincts are praised which "allow him to play fast." The corner class will likely be considered one of the weaker position groups at the top, but Golson should be mentioned near the top of the list.

Former Michigan OC Doug Nussmeier will take the same position with Florida, according to Thayer Evans.

Nussmeier will work under Jim McElwain after moving from Alabama to Michigan last offseason. His time with the Wolverines did not show great results, but McElwain showed the exact opposite while at Colorado State.

Louisville senior RB Michael Dyer has been ruled ineligible for the school's bowl game against Georgia due to academics.

Dyer missed multiple games due to a thigh injury and still looked hobbled once returning, but he produced 481 yards and five touchdowns this season. Dyer started his career off with a blazing start at Auburn, however, he is likely a third day prospect this spring.

Florida State HC Jimbo Fisher signed a contract extension that will keep him with the program through the 2022 season.

Financial terms of the pact were not released. Fisher's current contract, which he signed about one year ago, pays him about $4.1 million per season. "I appreciate that FSU believes in what we are doing and supports our goal of maintaining one of the best programs in the country," Fisher said in a statement. "It is a privilege to coach the young men in our program. It is truly a family." Fisher, who is 58-10 since replacing Bobby Bowden before the 2010 season, has sent a school-record 18 players into the NFL draft over the last two years.

Marshall senior QB Rakeem Cato completed 25-of-37 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns in Tuesday's 52-23 victory versus Northern Illinois in the Boca Raton Bowl.

He also ran for 25 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries. Cato had the Thundering Herd offense humming in his last collegiate game, hitting open receivers (specifically Tommy Shuler) and avoiding mistakes (Marshall had zero turnovers). Cato threw for 3,901 yards and a 40/13 TD/INT ratio on a 59-percent completion percentage in 2014. The 6-foot, 188-pounder has been one of the nation's elite playmakers over the past few seasons, but he'll have to enter the NFL as either a late Day 3 pick or a priority UDFA.

South Carolina junior WR Shaq Roland plans to turn pro, according to Gamecocks HC Steve Spurrier.

"Shaq Roland is not with the team anymore. I think he's elected to drop out of school and go pro. That was his choice, and we wish him the best," Spurrier said. Roland had plenty of red flags prior to Tuesday, and he certainly didn't help his cause by abandoning South Carolina leading up to its meeting with Miami in the Independence Bowl. Roland caught 26 passes for 256 yards this year. The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder was maligned for inconsistent effort, was suspended for the Kentucky game for missing team meetings, and his on-field issues included quitting on routes. He was also suspended for three games last season. It'll be an uphill battle to get drafted.

Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah will attend the Senior Bowl.

Many consider Abdullah a top five, or even a top three, prospect at his position. He has showcased skills as a pass catcher and also running between the tackles. Some criticisms include seeing monstrous running lanes in a number of games. It is difficult for running backs to shine at this event, but their pass protection is tested.
Dec 23 - 12:04 PM

FSU WR Rashad Greene will attend the Senior Bowl.

Greene joins West Virginia's Kevin White and Michigan State's Tony Lippett as a few of the top receivers attending the event. We are big fans of Greene's game, as he might be the top route runner in this class both on the outside and in the slot. Many teams will likely restrict his evaluation to the slot due to size. We expect Greene to be selected on the second day.
