Stanford junior TE Levine Toilolo announced he will enter the 2013 NFL Draft.

Toilolo may be considered the "other" Cardinal tight end while playing next to Zach Ertz, but the massive inline target has the skills to contribute in the NFL. We actually preferred Toilolo prior to the season, but some inconsistent blocking and receiving performances brought us back to Ertz. Still, Toilolo is likely to earn a second day selection.

Michigan RB De'Veon Smith has been invited to the Senior Bowl.

The event was in need of a running back after Wayne Gallman declined the invitation. We think Elijah McGuire is the best running back at the Shrine Game, but scouts might want a further look at Smith, who is more of a pure power runner.

UCLA edge rusher Takkarist McKinley is considering shoulder surgery to repair a torn right labrum, according to Jon Ledyard.

McKinley pulled out of the Senior Bowl because of the injury. Either way, McKinley will wait to have surgery until after the NFL Combine, as he wants to put a full workout in for scouts. He played with the ailment for the last two years. Prospects like Shaq Lawson and Jason Verrett wavered on shoulder surgeries before their respective drafts as well. McKinley likely finishes the process as a first round pick, but he could have been the top edge rusher at the Senior Bowl.

In an interview with SEC Network's Paul Finebaum, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. called LB Reuben Foster "the best inside linebacker Alabama has ever produced."

Well then. That is something. On his most recent Big Board, Kiper slots Foster in as his No. 4 overall draft prospect for 2017. He views him more favorably than he did Bama LB Reggie Ragland a year ago, writing that the 6-foot-1, 240-pound Foster "has more range, runs sideline to sideline and is a more complete player." A lock first-rounder, Foster won the Butkus Award this past season on the strength of a regular season which saw him record 94 tackles (12.0 for loss), four sacks and two passes defended.

Florida redshirt senior QB Luke Del Rio will miss spring camp after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Wednesday's procedure was to his left, non-throwing shoulder. Del Rio's absence opens the door for an intriguing two-man spring quarterback race between Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask. The winner of that will be a legitimate contender for Del Rio's job in the summer. The 6-foot-1, 213-pound Del Rio, 5-1 as a starter this past season, completed 56.7 percent of his passes for 1,358 yards and an 8/8 TD/INT rate.

San Diego State announced a five-year contract extension for HC Rocky Long.

The 66-year-old Long is 54-26 across six seasons for the Aztecs. San Diego State has turned into one of the sport's premier Group of 5 programs under his tutelage. The school has won consecutive Mountain West titles, going 22-6 over the past two seasons.

Texas Tech junior DT Breiden Fehoko will transfer.

Fehoko was the jewel of Tech's 2015 recruiting class. He was a five-star prospect by Scout coming out of the prep ranks, and a four-star prospect by Rivals, 247sports and ESPN. Fehoko was a contributor from the day he stepped on campus. He started at defensive tackle in all 13 games of his freshman season in 2015 to earn All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. This is a huge loss for a defense that ranked dead last nationally in total defense this past season.

LSU dismissed redshirt junior DT Travonte Valentine for a violation of team rules.

This time, presumably for good. And what a shame that is, because Valentine had the goods to be the type of immovable interior presence that LSU ships pro-ready to the NFL. The 6-foot-3, 345-pounder began his career at LSU as the No. 3 defensive tackle recruit in the country before being dismissed as a true freshman for violating team rules. He spent time at two different JUCOs before resurfacing on the Tigers' roster this fall. His return was hyped, but it went just about as well as his first stint at the school. Valentine appeared in only five games this past season, and none of the last seven. His football career is hanging in the balance.

Rotoworld's Josh Norris reports that Miami WR Stacy Coley won't play in Saturday's East-West Shrine Game despite being healthy.

Norris ranked Coley as one of the event's 20-best prospects, but unfortunately won't be seeing him. Coley told Shrine officials over the weekend that he couldn't participate, leading to Drew Morgan's addition. Norris reports that Coley is healthy. It's possible that Coley has been upgraded to the Senior Bowl, which has lost a few of its targeted receivers. If not, Coley's absence from the Shrine Game is a head-scratcher.

Western Michigan WR Corey Davis declined an invitation to attend the Senior Bowl.

We have waited to see Davis at this event for over a year, so this is a bummer. Davis dominated during his time at WMU, ending his final season 98 passes for 1,511 yards and 19 touchdowns. Davis shines after the catch, picking up chunks of yards at a high rate. He also displayed an ability to go up and get it. We will have to wait to see Davis until the NFL Combine.

UCLA edge rusher Takkarist McKinley was not on the final Senior Bowl roster.

McKinley's acceptance was announced in early December, so he obviously changed his mind. We all know the edge rushing group is one of the draft's top positions, but a few of the bigger names will not be in Mobile, AL. The defensive line is one of the best positions to impress scouts at this type of event, as winning in one on one situations can set you apart. Expect Takk to be a top 50 selection.
Jan 19 - 8:55 AM

Oklahoma WR Dede Westbrook was not listed on the final Senior Bowl roster.

Westbrook caught 74 passes for 1,465 yards (19.8 yards per reception) and 16 touchdowns this season, but plenty of questions remain. Westbrook was arrested on two occasions for family violence complaints prior to joining Oklahoma, a piece of news that did not pop up until December. He also dealt with a career threatening freak injury when he ruptured a small intestine. At some point Westbrook will have to answer these questions from teams and from the media.
