Miami junior T Seantrel Henderson, G Brandon Linder, and DT Curtis Porter announced they will return to school for the 2013 season.

Henderson is the only real notable name of the group and finally generated some consistency during the 2012 season after a frustrating offseason. It remains to be seen if he plays the left or right side next year, but henderson has always had the talent to play in the NFL.

Former Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson believes Wisconsin redshirt junior RB Melvin Gordon will be the first RB chosen in the draft, and compares him to Jamaal Charles.

"I think Melvin Gordon to me, is a guy who reminds me a lot of Jamaal Charles. So I think clearly he will be the No. 1 running back coming off the board for the simple fact that Todd Gurley is coming off of that injury," Tomlinson said on NFL Network Wednesday. NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah ranks Gordon as the No. 10 prospect in the class, though he has Gordon going to the Cowboys at No. 27 in a mock draft. Tomlinson said MGIII wouldn't have been a lock to be the first RB taken had Todd Gurley not suffered his knee injury. "If it hadn't been for that injury, those guys would be neck and neck for the No. 1 running back coming off the board," Tomlinson said. "Todd Gurley, with the size he possesses, the athletic ability, the guy returns kicks -- are you kidding me? He's a phenomenal player. (If he returns healthy) he is going to be a steal."

Eastern Washington has granted senior QB Vernon Adams a release to transfer.

The 6-foot, 200-pounder is visiting Oregon this weekend, and the fit is almost too perfect. The Ducks need a QB to replace Marcus Mariota, and Adams is one of the FCS' best players. You might recall that he accounted for 491 yards of offense and seven touchdowns in a 59-52 loss to Washington this past season. Adams has thrown for 10,438 yards and 110 scores already in his three-season career. NFL Media analyst Charles Davis calls Adams "a master playmaker and a big-time leader," and colleague Bucky Brooks said that though "Adams lacks the ideal physical dimensions to pique the interest of NFL scouts, his production and effectiveness running (Eastern Washington's) high-powered offense will keep his name in the mix over the next few years." If he does indeed transfer, Adams shouldn't have a problem fending off sophomore Jeff Lockie for the starting gig.

Washington senior DT Danny Shelton "definitely emerged as a top-10 pick" at the Senior Bowl, wrote ESPN's Mel Kiper.

Kiper bumped Shelton from No. 13 to No. 7 overall on his newest Big Board. "He got winded at times but did well in Mobile following a phenomenal year," Kiper wrote. "Pretty amazing that he nearly led the Huskies in tackles this season. Shelton isn't 'quick,' but he moves pretty well for a huge man (330-plus pounds) and is something of a clogger-plus, because his lateral agility is impressive. A massive defensive tackle with some ability to disrupt into the backfield, he has good instincts in his ability to find the ball. Has definitely emerged as a top-10 pick." Most analysts now do indeed rank Shelton in the top 10.

Louisville announced defensive coordinator Todd Grantham will remain at the school.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported earlier in the day Wednesday that the Raiders offered Grantham a two-year deal to become Jack Del Rio's new DC. "My family loves it in Louisville, and I think we are establishing something special here with Bobby Petrino and our staff," said Grantham. Grantham is one year into a four-year pact that pays him nearly $1 million annually. The Cardinals ranked sixth nationally in total defense in 2014.

ESPN's Mel Kiper moved Florida State redshirt sophomore QB Jameis Winston to No. 1 overall in his most recent Big Board.

Winston was previously ranked No. 6. "When Winston plummeted on my board during the season, it was a direct reflection of major concerns from me and from teams about whether he was draftable if he didn't show more maturity," Kiper wrote. "It's easy to say in hindsight that I dropped him too far, but it certainly reflected my opinion and the opinion of those I respect on where Winston stood at that time. Since then, my sense is that some of those concerns have diminished -- no other mistakes have been made -- and while Winston faces scrutiny in the coming months on his maturity and his play, he is still considered the top quarterback in this draft and arguably the top overall player. Winston has a good football mind and great physical talent, with special pocket instincts and the necessary vision, size, arm strength and athleticism." Winston is the new odds-on favorite to go No. 1, replacing Marcus Mariota.

Eastern Washington senior QB Vernon Adams is visiting Oregon this weekend, according to The Oregonian's Jen Beyrle.

The Ducks open with Eastern Washington next season, which adds a wrinkle to this possible transfer. Adams is listed at 6'0/200 lbs and had impressive moments against Washington in 2014. Since he redshirted his first season, Adams likely would fit as a graduate transfer.

USC DL Leonard Williams "has been the most dominating player" NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah has watched thus far in the evaluation process.

"Everything you want -- the size, the length, the explosiveness, the versatility. You can play him all over the line on defense," Jeremiah said. "He reminds me a lot of Richard Seymour. That's pretty good company to keep." Our only hang up with Williams is his tendency to put himself a step behind once the ball is snapped due to a poor get off. The strength and power he possesses when using his hands is impressive.

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler believes Iowa OL Brandon Scherff's best position in the NFL will be G.

This does not prevent Brugler from praising Scherff, ranking him as the No. 4 overall prospect. Interior OL are receiving their due from evaluators, since preventing interior disruption is critical for an offense to have success. Scherff's projection could be similar to Zack Martin, as some teams will view him as an edge blocker and others inside. We think he is more natural as a tackle compared to Martin.

NFL Media's Mike Mayock believes Iowa redshirt senior DT Carl Davis may have pushed into the first round with his performance at the Senior Bowl.

"On tape at Iowa, he flashed, here he did way more than that. He played every snap, he showed athleticism, an ability to push the pocket and get to the quarterback," Mayock said Saturday. "He may have elevated himself right into the first round and that's what this game is all about." A panel of NFL scouts named Davis as the Senior Bowl's most outstanding practice player. Davis had only 3.5 career sacks at Iowa. His game is gap control, run prevention and sheer physicality. Davis recently said he models his game after Lions' DT Ndamukong Suh.

NFL Media's Mike Mayock believes Miami senior LB Denzel Perryman "is a first-round inside linebacker if he runs well at the combine."

Perryman did not play in Saturday's game due to an abdominal injury he suffered earlier in the week, but analysts did get to see plenty of him in practice. He has drawn comparisons to former Badger Chris Borland -- drafted in the third round by the 49ers -- though NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah believes Perryman will be drafted higher than Borland was. Perryman possesses a stocky 6-foot, 243-pound frame. We've heard he runs a 4.72 forty, though the combine will be the final arbiter of that.
