According to CBS Sports' Dane Brugler, Texas A&M RB Christine Michael has "finished every carry with conviction" at East-West Shrine practices while showing an "NFL-quality" physical skill set.

Michael landed in new coach Kevin Sumlin's doghouse in 2012 due to apparent attitude issues, but he's looked like a man on a mission in St. Pete. Fresh after handling just 88 regular season carries, 5-foot-10, 221-pound Michael has run hard and given "full effort" in Shrine practices. Michael had the look of a future early-round pick when he rushed 149 times for 899 yards (6.03 YPC) and eight touchdowns in nine games in 2011, before tearing his ACL in November of that year.

Braxton Miller plans to stay at Ohio State, according to one source Joe Schad spoke with.

That person said Miller will "continue (to) focus on rehabilitation/recovery." Why is this news surfacing again? Because the Columbus Dispatch recently heard from Miller that he will announce his plans next week. Miller staying at OSU has been the likely conclusion all along.

Pittsburgh's projected starting RT, redshirt sophomore Jaryd Jones-Smith, will miss the season due to a right knee injury.

The injury was suffered during offseason activities. Jones-Smith started three games at left tackle last season and was expected to replace T.J. Clemmings on the right side. Like Clemmings, Jones-Smith offers immense size at 6'6/335 lbs. The Panthers have not had the offseason they were hoping for under new head coach Pat Narduzzi.

The "perception around the league" is the Falcons are interested in Clemson supplemental draft T Isaiah Battle, according to Giants' beat writer Jordan Raanan.

As Raanan put it, Atlanta is "hot on Isaiah Battle's trail." Josh Norris took an extended look at Battle's play and was not impressed, citing a lack of strength/anchor in pass protection along with balance and waist bending issues. Some have mentioned a third- or fourth-round selection, which seems a bit rich. We expect Battle to be selected, but the question is how early. Any team that uses a supplemental draft selection loses that same pick in the following draft.

Baylor junior DT Andrew Billings "has a chance to be big time," according to Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl.

"Quick, strong with explosive upper body power. Impressive tape," Weidl tweeted. The talent evaluator notes Billings does not have a lot of pass rushing production (which is common for interior defensive linemen), "but there is plenty of upside" which is evident in Baylor's game against West Virginia. With defensive tackles, it is always worth pointing out disruption equals production.

Michigan graduate DL Ondre Pipkins is considering Missouri, Texas Tech and Kansas as transfer destinations, according to Joe Schad.

Pipkins recently vocalized his frustrations with the new Michigan staff, saying he was pressured to sign a waiver that would end his playing career and allow his scholarship to be freed. The one time coveted recruit has a long injury history, including a torn ACL. He will be eligible to play immediately.

Navy football officially joins The American Athletic Conference on July 1.

Navy is now the 12th member of the conference's list of football teams. The Midshipmen will be in the West division, with Houston, Memphis, SMU, Tulane and Tulsa. The East includes Cincinnati, ECU, Temple, UCF, UConn and USF. Navy was previously among the Independents and should field a quality team with QB Keenan Reynolds leading the way.

The NFL Supplemental Draft is scheduled for July 9.

This year's summer draft will be focused on one prospect: Clemson offensive tackle Isaiah Battle. The Tiger started 11 of 12 games last season at left tackle and could be the first supplemental selection since 2012. Some have mentioned a third or fourth-round pick being used, but we don't see a player worthy of that draft capital and that team would then lose the same round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft.

ESPN's Alex Scarbrough pegged junior LB Reuben Foster as Alabama's breakout candidate.

Foster has shined on special teams through two seasons, making highlight reel tackles with an old school mentality. Now Foster is expected to transition to weakside linebacker next to Reggie Ragland. Scarbrough does point out that Foster needs to stay healthy, as "lowering his head too often... has ended in quite a few visits with the training staff."

Suspended FSU freshman QB De'Andre Johnson has been charged with misdemeanor battery after hitting a woman in a bar, according to ESPN's Mark Schlabach.

Johnson was immediately suspended once the original accusation was made on June 25. More information and analysis should be available soon on what this charge means for Johnson's standing with the school and for his future with the team.

Marshall redshirt sophomore Angelo Jean-Louis is moving from the outside into a slot WR role.

"His talent as a receiver is undeniable. His physical gifts are plentiful," beat writer Derek Redd writes. As a redshirt freshman, Jean-Louis started eight games on the outside and caught 21 passes for 490 yards (23.3 ypc) and six touchdowns. That yards per catch average should drop drastically in the slot, but Jean-Louis could be option No. 2 in this offense behind running back Devon Johnson.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline calls Michigan State redshirt senior DT Joel Heath "very underrated."

"Ability to occupy blockers creates opportunities," Pauline wrote. "Good mid-to-late round value." Heath, a fifth-year senior, moved inside from defensive end during bowl practices in 2013. Last year, the rangy 6-foot-6, 296-pounder had career highs in tackles (29), TFL (five for 22 yards) and sacks (2.5 for 19 yards).
