ESPN's Mel Kiper expects Michigan QB/WR/RB Denard Robinson to be selected in the second round of April's draft.

A quarterback at Michigan, Robinson was invited to next week's Senior Bowl as a wide receiver and will also get reps at running back. He's capable of becoming a dynamic movable chess piece in the pros. "He has great speed, great athleticism," Kiper said of Robinson. "He can catch the ball. I think he will be an offensive entity. He can return kicks." Robinson only caught three passes in his college career, but he averaged over seven yards per carry as a senior.

LSU HC Les Miles has named sophomore QB Brandon Harris the team's starter for the 2015 season.

This was relatively expected, as Harris seemed to be pulling ahead of Anthony Jennings as camp progressed. In limited duty in 2014, the 6-foot-3, 188-pounder completed 25-of-45 passes for 452 yards and a 6/2 TD/INT ratio. Miles previously said that Harris "really probably throws the ball as well as anybody we've been around, but he needs to make sure that he's doing all of the things that make the other 10 guys more capable."

Georgia has named graduate QB Greyson Lambert the team's starting quarterback for the 2015 season.

Georgia HC Mark Richt called it a "very, very close competition" between Greyson Lambert and Brice Ramsey. He said that "at this point we felt it would be wise to name a starter and get him ready to play in this ballgame, to get the reps with the No. 1 unit." Lambert started nine games for Virginia last season before transferring over the winter. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound graduate QB completed 154-of-161 passes for 1,632 yards and a 10/11 TD/INT ratio with the Cavaliers in 2014.

North Dakota State senior QB Carson Wentz suffered a high ankle sprain in Saturday's loss to Montana.

North Dakota HC Chris Klieman labeled Wentz as "questionable" for the team's September 12 contest with Weber State. The Bison have a bye this week, which will allow their 6-foot-6, 231-pound stud gunslinger to rest before being reevaluated closer to the team's kickoff. Wentz completed 16-of-28 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 13 times for 70 yards and two additional scores in Saturday's loss to Montana. Redshirt freshman Easton Stick is listed as the team's backup quarterback on the depth chart.

FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher named Everett Golson the school's starting QB.

Golson only began practicing with the team a few weeks ago after graduating from Notre Dame this spring and beat Sean Maguire for the right to start this season. Jimbo Fisher said earlier today that his starting quarterback, now Golson, will not have a short leash. Many have focused on Golson's turnovers last season, and Brian Kelly's resulting frustration, but Fisher has experience with quarterbacks who turn the ball over. That is not to say that Fisher is okay with turnovers, but he also emphasizes big plays- something Golson offers that Maguire does not.

Ole Miss redshirt junior QB Chad Kelly will start in Saturday's season-opening contest against Tennessee Martin.

Kelly will start, but HC Hugh Freeze did throw a few caveats on there, including that the 6-foot-1, 210-pound redshirt junior's place atop the depth chart totem pole is not "set in stone." Freeze noted that sophomore QB's Ryan Buchanan and DeVante Kincade are also expected to play in the first game of the post-Bo Wallace era. Kelly is the nephew of Bills great Jim Kelly.

UCLA junior CB Ishmael Adams was arrested on a robbery charge on campus, according to Daily Bruin Sports.

Adams faced $100,000 bail. The cornerback started 13 games last season and all 13 games in 2013. Obviously Adams was expected to hold the same spot in 2015 despite dealing with a sprained ankle for the last couple of weeks. The Bruins open their season against Virginia.
Aug 31 - 4:21 PM

Florida senior LB Antonio Morrison has been listed as the starting middle linebacker on the team's depth chart.

While Morrison led the Gators with 101 tackles last season, he suffered a catastrophic knee injury during the Belk Bowl which required a pair of surgeries. The team limited him to non-contact drills in preseason camp. HC Jim McElwain elaborated on the 6-foot-1, 218-pound senior's progress, saying that "it obviously won’t be one of those deals where he’s playing 80 or 90 plays, but at the same time, he’s prepared himself and he’s ready to play and we’ll have a plan for that." When healthy, Morrison's ability to stick and commit stands out. Last season, he tallied just five missed/broken tackles.

FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher said there will be "no limitations" for sophomore RB Dalvin Cook in the season opener against Texas State.

Cook missed a large amount of preseason camp while in court, but immediately re-joined the team and the first unit once being found not guilty of misdemeanor battery charges. FSU did not really let Cook loose until the final four games of the season. Cook's 1,008 rushing yards were good for 52 percent of the school's total.

Texas head coach Charlie Strong named junior Tyrone Swoopes the school's starting QB.

Strong indicated as much one week ago, but added Jerrod Heard will also play. Swoopes was not impressive last season. Perhaps there were moments, but overall Swoopes did not elevate the team with his play. A 13:11 touchdown to interception ratio, less than 60 completion percentage and a 6.27 yards per attempt tells part of the story. The pressure could grow a bit more in the second year under Charlie Strong, but the feeling is the head coach is building something positive and patience is necessary.
Aug 31 - 12:39 PM

Montana redshirt junior QB Brady Gustafson completed 30 of 55 attempts for 434 yards and a touchdown in the school's 38-35 upset of North Dakota State.

It was a heck of a debut for Gustafson and head coach Bob Stitt, who deployed unique personnel, formations, combinations and spacing in his first game as head coach of a FCS program. WVU's Dana Holgorsen has previously praised Stitt, and admittedly learned from him, but Gustafson was the one who directed the machine. The redshirt junior had barely played in previous seasons and flashed great promise in the opening game of the 2015 season.
Aug 31 - 9:31 AM

Six of TCU senior WR Josh Doctson's eight red zone receptions ended in touchdowns during the 2014 season, according to CFB Film Room.

Doctson caught 20 total touchdowns last season on 63 grabs with no drops. He and quarterback Trevone Boykin have excellent chemistry and play off each other's strengths. Doctson, however, has dealt with offseason injuries, including a broken hand during the spring and an undisclosed injury as of late.
