Oregon OLB Dion Jordan's weight dipped to 226 pounds during the 2012 season, but the Duck is already up to 234 after working out.

Jordan hopes to weigh 250 pounds at the Combine in February. Multiple factors played into the senior's drop in weight this season, including a shoulder injury and the notorious pace of Chip Kelly's practices. Regardless, Jordan remained active and strong with his hands. His comfort and space likely projects best to a strongside linebacker position.

TCU freshman QB Shawn Robinson will start against Texas Tech on Saturday.

Robinson is getting the call with redshirt senior Kenny Hill suffering from a concussion. Robinson, the No. 6-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the country and a four-star recruit in the last class, is the highest-rated QB recruit to ever sign with TCU. The 247Sports Composite ranked him as the nation’s No. 198 overall recruit. "Dude has a rocket arm," Hill said of Robinson in July. "Like he can sling it. He can run. He just does a lot of things really well." Texas Tech's soft defense provides a nice matchup for his first start, but Robinson is obviously inexperienced.

UL-Lafayette HC Mark Hudspeth said he's not sure if freshman QB Levi Lewis (ankle) will start Saturday against New Mexico State, but he said Lewis will play.

On Hudspeth's coaches' show, he said both Lewis and Jordan Davis will play in the game. Lewis suffered an ankle injury in last Saturday's game against Ole Miss. He was limited in practice this week.

TCU redshirt senior QB Kenny Hill (concussion) will not play in Saturday's game against Texas Tech.

Due to his head injury, Hill is not traveling with the team to Lubbock. Shawn Robinson will draw the start at quarterback in his place, with Grayson Muehlstein his backup. Hill now has a week to recuperate in an attempt to get back on the field for the regular season finale next Friday against Baylor. Of course, TCU is going to prioritize having Hill ready to go if they make the Big 12 title game on Dec. 2. The Frogs will have to beat the Red Raiders to have a clear shot at that.

Buffalo redshirt sophomore QB Tyree Jackson threw for 350 yards and four touchdowns with one interception on 16-of-28 passing in a 40-24 victory over Ball State on Thursday.

All but nine of his completions went to star wideout Anthony Johnson on the day, and all four of his touchdowns. After missing four games with injury, the sophomore QB has played well, and has thrown for seven touchdowns in his last two games. Jackson and the Bulls will look to qualify for a bowl game next week against Ohio.

Buffalo senior WR Anthony Johnson caught seven passes for 153 yards with four touchdowns in a 40-24 victory over Ball State.

Have yourself a day, Mr. Johnson. The 6-foot-2, 196-pound senior wideout has been one of the best playmakers in the MAC all season, and has now scored six touchdowns in his last two games. He scored once in the first, two times in the second, and once in the third against the woeful Ball State defense. Johnson now has 12 touchdowns on the season, and will look to add to that total next week against Ohio.

According to Fox Sports Bruce Feldman, several influential people attached to Arkansas would like to the school target Auburn HC Gus Malzahn to replace Bret Bielema as head coach in 2018.

Now this would be interesting. Arkansas just fired former Athletic Director Jeff Long, in large part due to the struggles of the football program. Malzahn does have a history with the Razorbacks; serving as offensive coordinator at the school before moving on to Tulsa. It's tough to see him leaving the school at this point -- Auburn is a prime national title contender on paper -- but if Arkansas comes up with a serious compensation package and Malzahn has interest in returning, this could be something to keep an eye on.

Syracuse junior QB Eric Dungey (foot) is listed as questionable on the injury report for Saturday’s game against Louisville.

Dungey missed last Saturday's game against Wake Forest with the injury, which he suffered a week before against Florida State. Backup signal-caller Zack Mahoney threw for 380 yards and three scores against Wake, but he struggled mightily in the second half as the game started to get away from Syracuse. Mahoney will get the call again if Dungey can't go. Stay tuned.

Iowa senior RB James Butler says he has "no regrets" about transferring to Iowa over the summer.

Butler left Nevada, where he was a two-time 1,000-yard rusher, for Iowa City on July 4. Between battling an elbow injury and playing behind Akrum Wadley, Butler has only 335 yards from scrimmage through six games. "I wouldn’t say I’ve played up to my full potential. I’m disappointed personally in my play," Butler said. "I wish I could have helped the team more." Because of the injury, Butler could have shut himself down in September and applied for a medical redshirt. He decided against that. "It was 50-50 right up until the day I saw I could still play with the brace on and there wasn’t any pain in my elbow," he said. "I felt like if I could play, I’d want to help this team win as much as possible." Butler, a Chicago-area kid who grew up a Hawkeye fan, will try to make an NFL team next summer.

UConn senior QB Bryant Shirreffs (concussion) will not play again this season.

The news officially ends Shirreffs' collegiate career. Shirreffs suffered the concussion against South Florida a few weeks ago and missed last Saturday’s loss at Central Florida. He met with UConn HC Randy Edsall on Tuesday morning to tell him that he didn't intend to play next week’s season finale at Cincinnati even if he's medically cleared. Shirreffs (6'2/210) broke out this season, going 171-of-260 for 2,287 yards and a 14/5 TD/INT rate. David Pindell will finish out the season as starter.

An anonymous NFL scout likened Ohio State redshirt senior QB J.T. Barrett to "this year's" Josh Dobbs and said he'll get drafted.

"Oh yeah, he's this year's (Joshua) Dobbs," the scout said when asked by NFLDraftScout.com's Dane Brugler if Barrett would get drafted. Two other scouts polled by Brugler weren't as positive. "My gut says no," said one. The other replied: "Probably, but not by us."

Idaho senior QB Matt Linehan (hand) was ruled out for Saturday's game against Coastal Carolina.

Against Troy on Nov. 2, Linehan left the game with a hand injury following a roughing the passer penalty. With Idaho on bye last week, the hope was that he'd be able to return. Unfortunately, that won't be the case. But fortunately, HC Paul Petrino indicated that there's a chance that Linehan could return this season.
