USC plans on pushing their pro day back two or more weeks to give QB Matt Barkley more time to heal, according to draft insider Tony Pauline.

We haven't seen the pro day's original date nor the new one, but these events usually begin right after the Combine and last up until the beginning of April. In the past, injured prospects have held their own pro days, but a quarterback is needed for any receiver prospect hoping to show their stuff. Barkley is recovering from a sprained right shoulder.

NFL Media draft analyst Mike Mayock ranks North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz as the best quarterback in the draft.

Mayock's position rankings were released Wednesday. In them, he sides with Wentz over Jared Goff of California. Following those two, in order, are Paxton Lynch (Memphis), Connor Cook (Michigan State) and Dak Prescott (Mississippi State). Mayock's love of Wentz is no surprise after the analyst gushed over the Bison star at the Senior Bowl. We find it a bit more interesting that Mayock has Prescott No. 5. There are a few other developmental quarterbacks we'd prefer over the Bulldog. We're a bit concerned that Prescott has never shown an ability to work through progressions.

Iowa State dismissed WR D'Vario Montgomery.

First-year head coach Matt Campbell gave Montgomery the boot for an unspecified violation of team rules. Montgomery, who began his career at USF, had 27 receptions for 335 yards and three scores last season. He led the Cyclones with 605 yards receiving in 2014. Clemson junior ILB Ben Boulware fired back at Draft Wire NFL draft analyst Jon Ledyard after the writer questioned Boulware's pro potential.

Ledyard tweeted the following in response to a question about Boulware's potential to become a "top prospect": "Probably not. Short, squatty frame with minimal tackle radius and limited athleticism. But man he loves football and contact." Boulware didn't take well to that. He tweeted a picture of a sensational leaping play in coverage he made against Oklahoma last month and added the caption "limited athleticism." Boulware then tweeted a video of corralling Derrick Henry with the caption: "minimal tackle radius"...didn't he just win the Heisman too?" Boulware, a prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft, has another year on campus to prove himself. For the record, we think he needs to work on his coverage. Please don't be mad at us, Ben. Your Twitter game is on point.

A federal lawsuit filed by six unnamed women Tuesday against the University of Tennessee alleges football players assaulted former WR Drae Bowles twice because he helped a woman who said she was raped by former Volunteers A.J. Johnson and Mike Williams.

The lawsuit is sprawling, shocking and specific, claiming that the university "has created a student culture that enables sexual assaults by student-athletes, especially football players, and then uses an unusual, legalistic adjudication process that is biased against victims who step forward." Bowles comes into the picture because he took "Plaintiff Doe IV to the hospital the night of her assault" and "supported her decision to report the incident to the authorities." According to the suit, Bowles was assaulted by his Vols teammates that night and then by the same teammates a few days later at the football facility. Curtis Maggitt, the suit states, confronted Bowles in the locker room "before the team was instructed by head coach Butch Jones not to talk to him and before Bowles was given time away from the team." Bowles later transferred to Chattanooga.

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler believes South Carolina WR Pharoh Cooper is a superior prospect to Braxton Miller.

Brugler admits he is likely higher on Cooper's game than most and considers him a top five receiver in the class. The South Carolina product has started to receiver more buzz as evaluators dive into junior tape. Cooper virtually carried the South Carolina passing game for a couple of seasons and was used both outside and inside, displaying skills in both spots. He's an explosive player who could see his early snaps inside.

NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah believes Alabama C Ryan Kelly is an all-pro talent and one of the best interior offensive linemen in the last five years.

The compliments do not get any higher. The interior class of the last five years includes Chance Warmack, David DeCastro, Brandon Scherff and Zack Martin, solely based on pre-draft opinion. It will be interesting to see how Kelly tests and measures at the Combine. he declined a Senior Bowl invitation. Kelly took over the anchor spot left by Barrett Jones in 2013 and started ever since.

Clemson four-star RB Tavien Feaster will undergo shoulder surgery.

Said HC Dabo Swinney of his potential lightning-bolt-in-a-bottle, "[Feaster] played with a little shoulder problem all year but will get surgery. It might put him behind a little bit but he will be OK." Swinney also made the comparison you should probably be ready to hear throughout the 5-foot-11, 202-pounder's collegiate career. "Didn’t know if I’d ever see another guy like C.J. Spiller but he’s about as close as any I’ve seen."

The Associated Press reports that 13 of the 28 violations levied against Ole Miss by the NCAA are in relation to their football program.

According to the AP's report, nine of the 13 charges occurred in HC Hugh Freeze's stint with the university, which began in 2011. The violations include Level I charges--the most serious--as well as some lesser accusations. Ole Miss will have 90 days to respond to the Notice of Allegations. At least some of the violations are said to involve former tackle Laremy Tunsil, who was suspended the first seven games of the 2015 campaign for accepting impermissible benefits. Apart from the charges against the football program, women's basketball and track and field are also coming under fire here. Stay tuned.

NFL scouts rank DT Darius Latham as "one of the most underrated defensive tackles in the upcoming draft and give him a second/third round grade," TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reports.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pound junior declared for the draft in December. "Latham was approached about joining the Hoosiers basketball team but passed on the opportunity," Pauline wrote. "Expect the athletic tackle to put up some impressive numbers during the Scouting Combine later this month." Latham has some off-the-field issues he will have to answer for in Indianapolis. If he dispels character concerns, he may be headed towards Day 2.

An NFC director of football operations says Florida State DB Jalen Ramsey "is going to win the combine."

"Some scouts on the road think he's overrated and some think he's the next Richard Sherman," the exec said. "We all agree that he's going to win the combine and that (Mike) Mayock won't stop talking about him." As an addendum, NFL.com's Lance Zierlein passed along this nugget about Ramsey's future NFL position: "Most of the personnel men I've spoken with see safety as his best position."

Six women filed a federal lawsuit on Tuesday claiming that Tennessee has created a culture enabling student-athletes, particularly football players, to get away with committing sexual assaults.

Specifically, per the suit, the university uses an unusual adjudication process that is slanted against victims who come forward. Five Tennessee athletes are accused of sexual assault in the lawsuit: Former basketball player Yemi Makanjuola, former football players A.J. Johnson, Michael Williams and Riyahd Jones and a current football player identified as a "John Doe." Tennessee has shown "deliberate indifference and a clearly unreasonable response after a sexual assault that causes a student to endure additional harassment," according to the lawsuit, which goes on to accuse administrators and coaches of ignoring complaints and impeding the investigation process.
