NFL Draft legend Gil Brandt tweeted of the 333 Combine invitees, only one played at Michigan.

Brandt then hinted that the lone invite was obvious, and the player would not be participating as a quarterback. That means defensive tackle William Campbell, safety Jordan Kovacs, and defensive end Craig Roh were not invited, just to name a few. Denard has a chance to show improved hands from the Senior Bowl.

In the latest release of the AP Top-25 poll, TCU and Georgia saw rises to Nos. 9 and 7, respectively.

Georgia is up from No. 11 and TCU up from No. 16 thanks to respective wins over Mississippi State and Oklahoma State. A casualty of these rises came in the form of Ohio State, with the Buckeyes being knocked from No. 10 to No. 11. Elsewhere in poll excitement, two new faces joined the fray on Sunday, with West Virginia and Notre Dame slotting in at Nos. 23 and 22, respectively.

In the latest release of the Amway Coaches Poll, Georgia moved from No. 12 to No. 8.

No changes at the top, as Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma and Penn State all retained spot Nos. 1-4, respectively. Further down, Georgia bumped up four spots to land in the top-10 courtesy of Saturday's dominating win over Mississippi State. TCU nearly joined them after their upset of Oklahoma State, but not quite, not quite -- the Horned Frogs moved up from No. 15 to No. 11. As for the biggest droppers, nobody took a harder hit than Florida State. The 0-2 Seminoles plummeted 14 spots to No. 25 following their loss to NC State and are now teetering on the edge of falling out of the poll altogether.

UCLA junior QB Josh Rosen completed 40-of-60 passes for 480 yards with three touchdowns and two picks in a 58-34 loss to Stanford on Saturday.

Rosen (6'4/218) continued to make the plays that have scouts salivating, and the same mistakes that leave them scratching their heads. He again struggled with pressure, and he threw several balls off of his back foot; one of which lead to a late pick that essentially clinched the game. There were good things on Saturday as well as seen in the yardage and touchdown, but this was a mixed effort from the UCLA signal-caller, and mixed might be too nice.
Sep 24 - 2:34 AM

Wyoming redshirt junior QB Josh Allen completed just 9-of-19 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in a 28-21 overtime victory over Hawaii.

Let's be clear: Allen doesn't have great wideouts, and he doesn't have a great offensive line. Those caveats out of the way, it's still safe to say that this isn't a great start to the season for the 6-foot-5, 230-pound quarterback. His touchdown pass was certainly a clutch one, a 25-yard pass on play-action to a wide-open James Price to give the Cowboys a 28-21 lead in the first overtime. There's plenty of time to rebuild his stock -- and GMs are going to give him some slack for playing with less than a full deck. If he's really going to challenge to be the first quarterback taken in a strong class of signal-callers, however, he's going to have to play (much) better than this.

Arizona State sophomore WR N'Keal Harry caught seven passes for 170 yards and a touchdown in a 37-35 upset victory over Oregon on Saturday.

Over Harry's last two games, Harry has caught 20 passes for 318 yards and two scores. That'll do. Harry is a special talent, and he burned the Oregon defense several times in the upset win. His touchdown was a three-yard score coming from quarterback Manny Wilkins late in the first to give ASU a 14-7 lead. The Sun Devils are going to have to win shootout games all year because of their poor defense, but Harry is talented enough to give them a chance to do just that.
Sep 24 - 1:41 AM

Washington junior RB Myles Gaskin rushed 27 times for 202 yards and two scores in Saturday's 37-10 route over Colorado.

Gaskin (5'10/190) hasn't gotten off to a huge start in terms of yardage, but that changed on Saturday against the Colorado defense. His patience and vision was on full display, consistently finding late holes against the Buffaloes. His first touchdown was a short one-yard plunge to tie things up at 7-7, and his second touchdown was an impressive sweep of 57 yards to make it 37-10 Huskies. Gaskin started slow in 2016 as well before finishing with excellent numbers, and you should expect the same thing in 2017.

San Diego State senior RB Rashaad Penny scored three times and ran for 128 yards on 20 carries in a 28-24 victory over Air Force on Saturday.

Penny (5'11/200) also caught three passes for 18 yards. This is becoming routine for the senior tailback. After falling behind 9-0, Penny scored for the first time on the afternoon from two-yards out to make it 9-7 Air Force. His second touchdown came from 20 yards out near the top of the third quarter, and it gave the Aztecs their first lead of the game at 14-9. The third end zone trip was the most impressive; a 53-yard run with just under six minutes left in the game to give San Diego State the lead and ultimately the win. Penny will likely be a Day 2 selection this spring, and you have to consider him a Doak Walker candidate, though everybody in the country is trailing Penn State's Saquon Barkley in the hunt for that particular award.
Sep 24 - 12:10 AM

Auburn senior RB Kerryon Johnson (hamstring) rushed for 48 yards and five touchdowns on 18 carries in Saturday's 51-14 win over Missouri.

Johnson -- who had missed the last two games with a hamstring injury -- did little in terms of explosivity with his 18 carries (his long run went for just eight yards), but he at least had a nose for the end zone. To say the least. He would score four of his five touchdowns in the first half to help Auburn race out to a dominating 31-7 advantage through two quarters, then finished off his night with a one-yard touchdown punch about five minutes into the third stanza. His health status is worth watching over the course of the coming practice week, as Johnson has struggled with hamstring injuries throughout his career, injuries which tend to linger.
Sep 23 - 11:56 PM

Stanford redshirt junior QB Keller Chryst was forced out of Saturday's game against UCLA in the first half after taking a hard sack and is not expected to return to the game.

Chryst was scrambling to the right on the play in question when he was sandwiched between two Bruin defenders, hitting his head on the turf in the process. He was then taken to the locker room, after which he emerged without his helmet. Ryan Burns took over for him at signal-caller following the early exit. We'll update Chryst's status as information becomes available.
Sep 23 - 11:46 PM

Penn State junior RB Saquon Barkley exploded for 211 yards rushing and a touchdown on 28 carries while catching 12 passes for 94 yards in Saturday's 21-19 win over Iowa.

He also picked up 53 yards on kick returns, just for good measure. This was as complete a game as you will see from a player this season. Barkley showed off his entire repertoire of skills in the enthralling victory, busting through tackles, stopping on a dime, sprinting through the second level, leaping over opposing defenders and on and on and on. He looked every bit like a future NFL star. In just four games this season, the junior superstar has rushed for 518 yards and four touchdowns. He also owns a 23-335-2 receiving line. Indiana will be the next team to try to hold him in check, if that's even possible the way he's going right now.
Sep 23 - 11:28 PM

Baylor sophomore WR Denzel Mims caught 11 passes for 192 yards and three scores in a 49-41 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday.

Mims (6'4/180) has electric speed, and the Oklahoma secondary had no answers for the talented sophomore. His first score was a 19-yard bullet from QB Zach Smith that put Baylor on the scoreboard and made it 14-7 Sooners. Then with the Bears trailing 28-10, Smith found the wideout on a fly pattern, and he was able to jog into the end zone after breaking a tackle to make it 28-17. Touchdown No.3 was the most controversial, as he may or may not have gotten a foot down in the back of the end zone to make it 49-41. The Bears aren't going to win many games this year, but that has nothing to do with Sims. He has the potential to go early in either the 2018 or 2019 draft.
